I've been a customer of this incredible Armenian supermarket in Glendale, California, for years and I can't say enough good things! They bring a vibrant mix of Armenian, Iranian, and Mediterranean flavors under one roof. Every time I visit, it feels like a little taste of home especially the candy section. It instantly reminds me of my grandma's treats, just nostalgic and delightful! Their meat section is also a standout; the mortadella cold cut and sausages are exceptional so professional and rich in flavor, it's a must-try. Beyond that, they have a wonderful array of Persian snacks, cookies, and a wide selection of fresh produce. I'm always so happy shopping here; it's clean, well-stocked, and the staff are super friendly. There are always plenty of employees, so it never feels chaotic. The only small downside is that some of the refrigerated foods are a little pricey, but considering the quality, it's a fair trade-off. Plus, you can order hot foods to go! they grill up delicious meats right on site. Parking is at the back, which is super convenient, even if the front lot is a bit tight. I've been coming to Golden Market for over 25 years, and I truly miss the days of the previous owners, Soorik and Ofelia. The level of care and customer service back then was completely different. Recently, I had a very disappointing experience with the current manager, Lilit. I returned chicken that was clearly uncooked--not for a refund, but simply to make them aware so it wouldn't happen again. Instead of handling it professionally, she became defensive, raised her voice, and insisted the chicken was cooked, essentially accusing me of lying. As a long-time loyal customer, that was very upsetting. I was respectful, but the way I was treated was rude and dismissive. This is not the kind of service Golden Market used to be known for. Because of this experience, I highly discourage anyone from going there. I will not be returning, and I will not recommend it to my family or friends. I truly hope management takes this seriously and brings back the level of respect and customer care that Soorik and Ofelia once provided. I have personally been a customer of this store for years, almost every day, and I have never encountered or noticed any disrespect towards customers. On the contrary, the service has always been high, even better than in many other stores. As for the manager Lilit, I can only speak positively about her. From my personal experience of communicating with her, I can say that she has a high level of professionalism, and it is unacceptable to offend someone on a personal level. I have personally seen her benevolent approach to each customer. Although problems can arise in any store, this is not a sufficient reason to offend or treat a person disrespectfully. Yesterday July 7 I got some filet mignon about 4 pm unfortunately the meat was packed on June 20 and when I opened it smelled , and discolored , I truly trust their meat department but this didn't see when the lady gave me repacked , so I put it back to return today I trued calling the store 2 times today they don't answer their phones I will be taking it back tomorrow . read more

Lately when Im not surviving off of xanax, ozempic and jack and diets, this is my favorite market for freshly made persian and armenian food that reminds me of home made food. They have an abundance of fresh fruits that are in season, Pastries, Freshly made soups, and every middle eastern spice. To top it off, The wonderful staff are always so kind and inviting. Great little neighborhood market that has the best tomatoes and cucumbers! Any type of produce and herbs are good quality and fresh! I also love grabbing some mint leaves and basil here; Golden Market is a small international grocery store that specializes in Eastern European and Middle Eastern goods. From Non-Perishable items to the Deli counter and to the pre-made grab and go section that offers Armenian/Persian/Russian goodies; there are lots of neat products. If your familiar with Karina's Cakes (a bakery in Glendale) they got a small fridge section of the bakery's popular items like :honey cake sheet and birds milk cake sheet. Golden Market is a small family-owned grocery store specializing in Armenian, Persian, & Russian staples. Whenever I visit my beautiful sissy, Melineh, she always has a delicious spread comprised of delicacies she's purchased from here. The produce is always fresh and the lavash is soft. I love the Armenian String Cheese, especially the one marinated in spices, and the Russian Caviar is some of the best I've had. They also sell pre-made Persian and Armenian food. The edible Persian Rosebuds are so adorable and are a great garnish for cocktails and charcuterie boards. You can even steep them for tea. They also sell beer, wine, & Liquor, cakes from Karina's, and have a deli & butcher counter too. read more

Everything appeared super fresh and the staff was helpful. Someone cut in front of me with knowing that I was in line (so clearly intentional), and the cashier let the person pay before me (also intentional, because she looked at me for a little while as soon as he put his stuffs at the counter). They always have fresh meat, produce and dairy in stock and the entire market is so clean and organized. I feel comfortable and safe shopping here and they always have everything I need. It's truly a one stop shop, great service and everything you could possibly need. I don't have the time to go to several markets and am so glad I can get everything I need here. A good selection for a small grocer. Fantastic prices on FRESH produce. They are very friendly and have great customer service. They have a deli with fantastic meat selection, also have pre-marinated, just go home and cook! I'll put it this way, I try to eat 4 pieces of fruit a day as well as 2 serving of vegetables with dinner. My weekly cost for produce is UNDER $10. This place is a gem. It's small but immensely packed with the spices, pita breads, oils, and other delicacies that are not available to the usual grocery stores. They just about closed, and really early too, due to rearrangement but the lady owner was kind and helped me get the items right away. How many time one can bare an extra charge of $5 tp $10 dollar. I had that at least 5 times and when I notify the cashier claimed that it was an ite. From previous customer and was stored in the register ?! Got suspicious and couple of days ago after shopping.was charged for $47 I asked then to recheck it and the cashier said "oh there is an extra $12 charge from previous customer" then asked the price of few fruits particularly one of the fruits.
