As I returned to my car after shopping from the Trader Joe's in my area, two managers approached me. As I loaded my groceries in my car I asked what was up. They seriously looked at me and said one of their employees complained about me. He told them I touched him and he didn't like that. The shock ran through my body. What? I may have tapped him and smiled saying Merry Christmas to him. I am a 72 year old woman who is very friendly to people and was shocked at this. Why didn't they just tell him to stand up for himself rather than chastising me for being friendly? I am from Canada living in LA and I see people are less friendly in CA, especially in Glendale. I am a retired social worker of 26 years and would never be inappropriate but suppose I understand. I'll just say I spent a few days feeling shamed like a child and was unable to return for a month until I came to acceptance that this was handled very badly. At least I feel it was. I must have went on a not so great day because a lot of the items I wanted to by to bring back to Hawaii weren't on the shelves. I went on a Saturday afternoon and parking was rough. The lot is small and too many cars were coming in and not enough people are leaving so you end up circling to try and get a space. I've seen the reviews and learned that this Trader Joe's has been here for ten years already but why I never knew about even though I'd passed by here so many times and I've attended church across the street. Oh well, it's never too late for me to discover cuz I love Trader Joe's. The store is probably the same size as our local branch in Burbank but the parking lot is slightly bigger but still not enough for all the shoppers who come in here lining up for hours for those much sought TJ bags. Staff are always so friendly and the place is clean and well stocked (except for eggs on some days) I get to try different types of cuisines because of this place, and I go at least 1 or 2x a week! Huge parking lot, but it can get packed during rush hour. Right next to Walgreens and Coffee bean. There are places to eat around the block too so maybe that's the reason why the parking lot gets filled up. read more

Let me start my review by saying how much and how often I shop at Trader Joe's. At least 3 times a week. I have only been to this TJ maybe like 6 times and that is whenever I have a dentist appointment in Glendale which happens to be down the street on Brand blvd. I live in Studio City and I usually go to the Trader Joes by my area. Honestly, there is never a bad moment that you can encounter with anyone at TJ. It is always a great experience shopping at any location that you go to. People are so helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and genuine. Anytime you need help, they will stop what they are doing and help you with whatever you need help in. Store is always clean, fully stocked, they literally have everything that you need for your home, car, office. I quite often buy different kind of flowers from there and decorate my house. It is always a fun experience to shop at any Trader Joes. Shout out to Christian, he was stocking some merchandise and I needed couple of things and he stopped what he was doing and went and grabbed it for me. It was not exactly what I needed but close to it. Thank you Christian. A very nice gentlemen. It was time to pay and he was also the guy who helped me to check out at the register. Food is always fresh and delicious. Doesn't matter what type of food I get, canned, frozen, fresh, boxed, in a carton, etc..... I've never come to this Trader Joe's, so late in the evening before. It was actually kind of nice. It was pretty empty. The parking lot however, was hectic. The produce area was maybe the only area that was pretty congested. But regardless, we were able to find what we needed very quickly. The one thing that was really nice, was the friendly attitude of the cashiers. They were very welcoming and we sparked up a little conversation pretty quickly. Everything ended on the swell note and we were on our way. This is one of the fastest shopping trips we've ever made here. Luckily, we only came for a few very basic staple items. The other thing was kind of awesome too was to see how the store was being put back together. All of the things that were empty or near empty we're being replenished. Signage was being corrected and changed. It just had a really awesome level of productivity going on. read more

Who doesn't love Trader Joe's?! The food is great but this review is for the flowers! I love love love the quality of the flowers here. My new favorite is the COUNTRY ROSES. I haven't seen anything like them before. They are a little more frilly and I think they are so unique. They get a new case every day. So cool! Just like their regular roses, the bunches are $9.99. The SPRAY ROSES are always a great bargain. Totally worth it and so cute! I love that they are just as beautiful as the regular size bouquets. Employees are always nice and helpful! When we visit our daughters in Glendale, we walk to this Trader Joes! Since we're from Honolulu and there is none, we come here all the time! I love the nice, firm yellow bananas for $.19 each! There is always such a good selection that it is always easy to find a nice bunch! The fruits and produce are so clean and fresh! This is also true of the flowers and plants! They have such a huge variety to choose from that are so inexpensive that I want to buy them all! Or at least one of each! If you need a hostess, birthday or any gift, go here to find a beautiful one! By the way, they have a nice selection of cards: birthday, get well, sympathy, etc. Just $.99 each! What a deal! It's safe to say that when visiting the mainland Trader Joe's is the place to be. We love TJ and here in Cali, we knew we had to stop over here to grab some goodies to bring back home. My personal favorite is the Meyer Lemon Thin cookies. Grabbed new holiday favorites for our friends and family back home of which we can't wait to try! Very exciting to be in this store. The service is great and friendly and the store was nice and clean with shelves organized but they were out of some of the items that we loved. Overall Thanks for another great TJ experience. It's a Trader Joe's so you know what to expect. Prices are slightly higher, but the quality is always good. Best flowers at a decent price. I usually always get flowers from here for all occasions. They have a lot of items I can't find at a "regular" market, so it's nice to shop here for treats for both my dog and birds. The store feels clean and I see them constantly mop here and changing out produce. This store has a hardworking hustle, so make sure you get out of the way because when the workers are pushing a cart, it's like they're on a time limit, so you better get out of the way because I've had a few sigh and roll their eyes at me. Cashiers are always friendly and moving. ***Side note*** Parking lot is usually aggressive, so try to park by Walgreens side lot and walk over. This particular location in Glendale is the BUSIEST store compared to local area TJ's of Montrose and La Canada. It's a madhouse here constantly. Madhouse (minus one star)! However, the advantage of shopping here vs. the other two locations are that the MEAT and CHEESE selections here offer a better variety. Everything is always well stocked up. I don't know if this is the right TJ's but I recently went to the one in Glendale and just had a very good experience there. This was the one that shares a parking lot with other businesses, which helped to make it a good experience because rather than feeling like I was risking my life and my car's well-being the way I usually do in most Trader Joe's treacherous parking lots, there was PLENTY of room for me and my car. It was also very pleasant because I was greeted with smiles and the entire time I was there, everyone was helpful and smiley. I live in Silver Lake and OUR Trader Joe's is quite good, too - it's rare that someone in there is less than kind and caring, and that's usually the case with most of the TJ's I experience, admittedly. But somehow this place made me feel welcome in a new and unexpected way, so I just wanted to write about it. If it's Late September: It's Fall in Traders. And if it's Fall it is Pumpkin Ice Cream time! And this ice cream stands at the zenith of the Pantheon of Pumpkin Ice Creams. And i have tasted many of them over the years: Ben and Jerry's, Mc Connells, Breyers, etc. And they do not approach the pumpkinny, creamy, spiciness of TJs. Spicy in the sense of heavily redolent of cinnamon, ginger, Nutmeg, a small spattering of Cardamom. This Ice Cream is also not whipped with air and fluffy from the consequences of this procedure as most ice creams are. This is dense stuff. This container begs for you to partake of it with 2 spoons and a close friend. Just be aware that you both with be transferred into a Nirvana-like state very much like that attained when you first partake of Absinthe. I also bought some Pumpkin Tortilla chips which are good, not great and should have been developed as a sweet, cinnamon treat. Trader Joe's always marches to a different drummer. They always have and hopefully they always will. I will check out via the Fearless Flyer what TJs is also Pumpkinizing this year and buy whatever sounds interesting. Cheers! read more

I always shop at Trader Joe's. Love the selection. Love the prices. I stopped by on Wednesday & Anika was very pleasant at and engaged in a delightful conversation with me during me check out. She recommended extra items for a soup I ended up making and she was also just so kind! The staff is always very helpful (like above and beyond) in store and over the phone. I was around Glendale and wanted to get some skin care products from Trader Joe's. It turns out they moved from their other Glendale location! I don't know when but I like this location so much better than the others (besides the one in USC). The parking is spacious and not cramp! The whole store was well stocked and clean and it was a quick shopping trip and I got all that I needed! Skin care seems super in right now but I'm on a budget and Trader Joe's skin care products are a good place to start. read more

I've only been to this location 3-4 times. Usually when I have something going on at church across the street or an appointment at Kaiser. I love this location because it feels roomier inside, if that makes sense. Pro tip: park farthest away from the entrance, it will be easier to get out of the parking lot. You can thank me later. Something happened during my visit today, and I wanted to share. This new guy, he was obviously new, didn't really know where things were, asking other crew members for help, etc. Then customer asked him for help looking for the frozen French onion soup. This man really went out of his way to help this customer, and I witnessed it. As cheesy as it sounds, it really warmed my heart. Better yet, the customer, evidently a regular, went and found a manager and told him what a great help the crew member was!! I love that this man was eager and willing to help the customer, and he was so genuine about it too. And then the customer, who wanted to make sure to acknowledge this man's efforts. Wow!! Would be cool if your cashier Kasia didn't snap at customers for asking to use two (of my own) bags because it was somehow inconvenient for her even though I said I had two bags at the beginning. I am physically disabled and I walk so I can't have a bunch of heavy stuff all in one bag. And it's incredibly cruel and hurtful and ableist to harass someone about it. If I was able to give Trader Joe's no stars I would most definitely do so. I was told that the employee's are not allowed to enforce any face masks due to losing customers and their precious "reputation." Anyone who walks into the store without a mask is told "We do not have any masks, but feel free to shop." Also, they do NOT sanitize any baskets/carts after being used or simply placed back into their original corral's. I used the restroom here, and the experience merits a 5 rating. No one tried to stop me from using it even though I wasn't buying anything. The restroom was clean and functional. However, even with all that, the experience would not rate a 5 if not for the location of the store. Glendale, CA is one of the most paradisal places in the nation, ranked highly on many lists of places for the quality of life. The Trader Joes here is mostly indistinguishable from those anyplace else, but the town it is in is superior to most. The combination of this, along with the unhindered, highly sanitary experience of relieving myself, amounts to a 5 rating. read more

Be aware!!!!!! If you would like to be completely harrassed, come to this Trader Joe's!!!! By far, I have never had such a terrible experience at any grocery store like this one!!!! I waited in the long Trader Joe's line for a quick stop for some cheese and crackers. I go to Trader Joe's often about twice a week, as does the rest of my family. However, none of us will ever step foot in any Trader Joe's establishment even if it was the last grocery store on earth. We will rather starve. I was with my well behaved service dog( no licking, barking, or peeing, because he is a registered SERVICE dog, not emotional support animal). Anyways, the employee in the front asked is he is a service dog, what service he provides, and how he provides that service. I answered nicely and we entered the store. 10 seconds and 1 step later, another employee asks me the same 3 questions. And I answer. 5 seconds later and not a step forward, a third employee comes and asks me the same questions. And boy oh boy, she was very rude and loud. I told her I already was asked twice and yet she continues to ask and I answer and she walks away. Now 3 minutes into the store, we finally make it to the cheese section. I grab the cheese and of course, a fourth employee comes up to me and asks the same questions. By this time, I am already irritated because they were not asking me in a calm manner, they were literally shouting out loud what service does he provide, oh I do not think that is a registered service, questioning me and asking further questions as if I am a criminal in a police station. Anyways, I tell her that she is the fourth person who asked me and she just explodes on me. Shouts that they dont want to harm me, it is the protocol blablabla. Lady if you hate your job, quit! Dont harrass me to let out your frustration! And yell out loud about my service in public! I felt so attacked. I have never felt that way before. I obviously put the cheese down and walked out the store. Trader Joe's, you guys need to get your act together and train your employees the right way. Because if other service dog owners experience what I did, I know for a fact they will stop giving you bussiness, as they should!
