First off I want to say the massage was amazing! However, don't trust a place that requires you pay in full before you have your service! I checked in on Yelp like it said to receive $10 off my combo massage which was $80. They would NOT honor it and since I was using my cc they charged me $85 for the hour, ok fine and I put zero on tip line because who tips before you receive your treatment? They say "tip included so no worries" I do receive an amazing massage then 2 min before my hour is up the girl asks if I want additional 30 min foot massage for $30 I say ok sure! Again it was very good! When I go to check out she says it's $40 plus tip I reminded her she told me $30 more for 30 min and she denies saying that. So I tell her I'll pay $50 to include tip on $40 she points to price that 90 min is $125 and wants 20%. At this point I'm furious since they already would not take the $10 off that I showed for checking in on Yelp and now she wants $25 tip. That's not how a tip works!!! I'm reviewing this place as a customer and as a professional massage therapist. Yes, when you walk into it, you may get the impression that it's like any other Oriental massage establishment, but one thing you notice immediately is how clean everything is. The place was absolutely spotless. The music playing was nice, but it was the same song the entire time on loop. As soon as I walked in, someone came from the back and booked me immediately and walked me to the room. When she closed the door, I was happy to see papers warning against lewd behavior propped on the door itself. I booked a "combo massage" for $80 (should have done the Yelp check-in first to save $10) which apparently lets you choose between deep tissue and other modalities. $80 for Ashiatsu (walk-on-back massage) is not a bad deal at all, and my review would have been higher if just basing it at that. One absolute pet peeve that I have with massage establishments like this is how often my therapist would leave the room and come back. It breaks the flow and you lose time. My therapist left the room about 4 times, one time to get hot towels (understandable but the other three were just because someone was talking to her from the door). Also, as much as the door had those signs, the therapist made some comments regarding my appearance that could have been misconstrued. These made me feel uncomfortable and by the end I wanted to leave. I am aware that this may not be all of the therapists, but I was irked. $80 for Ashiatsu may be great, but not enough to offset my discomfort. read more

I was impressed that they actually converted a room for foot massage instead of using an open space. Typically most places that offer foot massage ply the trade in a open area adjacent to the lobby. Which can be a nuisance because of talking & general noise. While my feet were soaking in the warm herbed water, Cindy was executing the typical 15 minute massage foreplay of hand, arm & shoulder. When the foot massage began, I was soothed into a state of comfort and relaxation. Cindy's technique and application of pressure was very good. STAR RATING 4.0 The owner managed to convince me to try the 30/min foot massage 30/min shiatsu combo instead of the 60/min foot massage, which I hesitantly obliged. I'm really glad I did because Cindy's shiatsu routine was a masterpiece of pain relief ! I actually had a month long nagging sharp lower back pain which mysteriously disappeared after my shiatsu massage. Thank heavens for Sean M., Yelp BPB's foot massage guru. Because of his guidance, I don't know if I will ever get a bad foot massage again! Last night we happened to eat dinner in plaza with a foot massage place. It reminded husband and I of how long it had been since we had a foot massage so our scheming began of how we could let our boys give us an hour to ourselves. Of course I also had to check out the foot massage place in the plaza on Yelp....some very poor reviews! Thankfully, close by was Golden Massage, with a recommendation from Sean. We were able to get two hour long foot massage appointments so after bribing the boys with some ice cream, we were all set. Golden Massage has a small waiting area which was perfect for our boys to sit and play their games while Mom and Dad were being pampered. The staff was very nice to let them sit there but honestly, the kids did have excellent behavior and did not disturb anyone. Each foot massage was $50 and we were asked to pay in advance. I did not recognize the names of either of the women who were supposed to do our massages from any if the reviews. However, when I saw Julie, the owner who Sean raved about, I asked her to do my massage and she happily agreed. Julie started with an excellent shoulder, arm and the best face massage. I felt all of my tension melt away. I wish she could be there every time I have a migraine! Her touch on my calves and feet were very strong, just the way I like it. Her massage was also very intuitive. She seemed to feel where my aches and pains were, and continued to massage them even though the spots were very tender. The foot massage room has three comfortable chairs. It is nice to be in a more private room for a foot massage instead of a big open space with a bunch of other people. Julie did have to get up a couple of times to tend to business which kind of ruined the relaxation a bit, but I guess that's what happens when you have the owner tending to you. There are several other rooms for full body massages. Golden Massage does offer facial and waxing as well. I think I will stick to the foot massages here. Husband also loved his foot massage. We were both happy which is rare. Usually one of us loves and one of us hates our massage. Then we fight about who will get the preferred masseuse the next time. We got welcomed properly and did not have to wait. The masseuse started by a deep back and legs massage (dry and then using oil), then walked in my back (it hurts but it's worth it), cracked my bones and stretch my all body, then used hot stones and hot towels and finished with a short face massage. I was bouncing back and forth between two and three stars. I'm a pretty honest person with my reviews. I called to make an appointment for my husband and I the day prior. They didn't ask for my or anything but they did save my number. The day of, they called 30 minutes before the appointment and asked if we could come earlier, which wasn't possible lol. When we got there, we had to pay right then and there. I never pay until AFTER my service, especially if they're expecting tips. I can't tip properly unless I experience the service first, so I only tipped $10. Seemed fair to me. ‍ She seemed upset, but again, I had to pay BEFORE my service which I've never had to do before. We got to our rooms and undressed. The room was tiny and there wasn't anywhere to lay our things so we just folded our clothes and sat them on the floor (gross). I asked for the Swedish which is a light/medium massage, but my masseuse was ROUGH!! Like good Lord!!! I couldn't get comfortable nor feel relaxed because she was so rough. Then, she basically had my exposed (I'm naked under the sheet) which I've never experienced before at prior spas. Usually, they'll only remove the part to be massaged from under the sheet and make sure everything else is covered. That lady basically yanked the sheet off of me lmfao ok sis. Ladies, wear underwear because the get REALLY close to your lady parts . There was one part where they both walked out of the room and didn't say anything. So my husband and I thought they were done. We have visited Golden Massage and Spa several times and have been reasonably satisfied with the service I spite of the fact that the staff does not speak very much English. We always tip generously when the service is good. In this case, the service was satisfactory, but we tip generously anyway. Nevertheless, the staff insisted on a larger tip. Not wanting to be rude we took out another $5 to add to the already generous tip that we gave them. The girl (who barely spoke English) still demanded more!!! Since when does the staff get to DEMAND the amount of tip that they receive? I was really disappointed. That was extremely greedy and "nervy". Someone needs to explain to these people that in.
