I was visiting Florida after being in cold cold Canada on a 6 month work detail for the Federal Government and I was in desperate need of a good massage but I didn't want to over pay. I am often disappointed at some of these "upscale" day spas that I normally frequent when on travel. Anyways, I just happened to come across Royal Day Spa in Davie Florida and ended up being pleasantly surprised. I asked for a 60 minute deep tissue massage. About 45 minutes into my 60 minute massage the therapist stopped and excused herself, she promptly returned with another lady named Mona. Mona explained to me that the therapist felt that I needed at least 90 minutes because I was so tight. She was actually right, I carry all my stress in my shoulders and upper back region. She offered me reasonable price and asked I would like to try aromatherapy. I agreed and OMG it was amazing, Listen, I rarely write reviews good or bad but I felt amazing afterwards and felt compelled to share my experience. I gave that therapist a real good work out my body was super tight so I rewarded her with a solid tip and I also tipped Mona but she refused and said give it to the therapist she did all the work. I really appreciate honest and hard working people I know could not do this work. It was suggested when I get back home to continue with regular massages. Mona explained the health benefits. This is a modest place, it was clean and the customer service was great. There weren't pushy or rude and gave me good conversation. Take it from a picky person. Unfortunately this was not a good experience. I have been to foot massage places all over the country and feel like there is a standard. Royal Day spa missed on most of those. Here's my list of expectations... Cleanliness Noise - they do not have the room sound proofed at all and every time someone walked into the storefront loud chimes sounded and the staff made no effort to whisper to those clients so there were loud conversations about price and appointments. Music they did not play relaxing instrumental music, it's was more like Asian 80's music with words and epic guitar riffs...so distracting. I at one point laughed out loud it was so ridiculous Massage I don't know why but my massage started with him having me sit up and worked on my shoulders that way. It was weird and not relaxing. I have always layed face down after the foot massage part for the back massage. The foot massage was just ok. Then I did not have the rest of my body massaged, no upper leg, no lower back. He did do my face and arms, again it was just ok. Customer Service Initially it was good we were significantly early and they made us feel welcome after a confusing conversation about timing. But they lose stars for visibly judging their tips. A tip is a thank you and an indication on the clients opinion of the service. Over all I would not recommend Royal Day Spa. Myself and two friends just finished having an hour foot massage. We've done these in many different states and this was by far the worst! They started at 11:07 and of course they finished right at 12:00. The music was on a portable CD player that kept skipping and the music itself was not relaxing at all, instead it was distracting old 80s Asian singing. The therapist I had feel asleep several times, head nodding included. The therapist my friend had kept getting up to help people who walked in and at one point was gone for at least 5-7 minutes, but she still finished right on time. The therapist my other friend had was descent, but he also got up to help a customer. They also had us sitting up to work on our backs, which was uncomfortable and hard to relax since your natural inclination is to push against the pressure to hold yourself up. A couple times while we were there customers were checking out and they, along with the therapist, were speaking quite loudly, which again is very distracting and breaks up any attempt being made to relax. I certainly cannot recommend this location! Try someplace else would be my best recommendation! read more

Worst foot massage of my life!!!!! From beginning to end I couldn't wait for it to be over. If they hadn't scanned my credit card I would have walked out!!! Now I wish I had. From beginning to end the lady working on me never stop talking. I'm not sure what upset her (because she was speaking a language I don't understand) but she was ranting about something and the energy was extremely NEGATIVE! At one point another employee walked into the room and they began yelling at each other.....all while working on me. She was so angry that she ended up bruising my arm (see photo). Great spa that I found on Groupon! One of the most amazing massages I've had in a very long time - if you like deep massages and need someone to get out all your knots this is the place to go! Right next to NSU so it is very convenient for students to come. Definitely will come back again - it was the perfect way to relieve stress and get out all my knots and neck pain. This is the best massage parlor I've tried so far. I am very picky about getting massages because at some places they press very hard and it hurts my back. But here it was so nice they did my back my legs and my feet. There was also the essential oils that made it so much more relaxing and soothing. I would definitely recommend asking for the essential oils it is an add on that's worth it. read more

I had a lovely experience at Royal day spa. I choose a 2hr Shiatsu massage with essential oil, aromatherapy. The girls are very skilled in the therapeutic skills. The rooms are quiet, private and clean. She was very good working on my back pain. I enjoy a super rejuvenating body scrub after my massage. I went home well relaxed. I went to Royal day spa Tuesday. I met Jasmine. She was very nice. I had an one hour massage. It was very relaxing and comfortable. The room was very clean with a pleasant aroma. I had a 2hr therapeutic massage for my sciatic and back pain. the essential oil and aromatherapy therapy help me relax and feel rejuvenated. She used heated pillows to soothe my muscles while receiving a strong massage. I recommend this awesome service from one of these skilled pretty girls. I have been here many times. read more

I met Nina at Royal Day spa. She has years of experience giving exceptional massages. Today I enjoyed her Ashiatsu technique, she is very strong.
