I'm sorry to say this because they seemed very nice but I had a pretty rough experience, last week. My pedicure was fine but the person that did my manicure botched it. She sliced my fingers a few times with the file, to the point of bleeding and the polish was a bit of a mess. My new favorite spot, everyone is friendly and doesn't screw ip your nails like a lot of other salons! I've had my nails done countless times over the past decade and this is the best quality I've found. Dip powder selection plus all of the chrome colors you could possibly want. And the chrome actually adheres to the nail unlike a lot of other salons that claim they can do chrome only for it to wash or chip off when you leave! Highly recommend! read more

I do like the way my nails are done and the excellent attention to detail they dedicate each time I come in. The reason I did not give them the two extra stars is because I did not feel "comfortable" or "welcomed". I don't like that they often talk in Vietnamese and look at you and chuckle, it may be nothing but I find that very unprofessional especially if your client does not speak the language you are speaking. I would never speak Spanish in front of one of my clients if they did not speak Spanish. I have been there three times in the past month and find it difficult to return; It's just not very welcoming. Just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to try the local nail salon. I mainly go to nail salons for pedicures so that is what this review is based on. The spa pedicure is basic, but nice and at such a great price - $22!!!! It includes a leg massage and warm towel treatment. The staff was friendly and the chairs were very comfortable. The shop itself is not the fanciest, but hard to beat the price and convenience. For my everyday pedicures I will come back Golden Nails. read more

I got a classic manicure and pedicure at Golden Nails and Facial and my manicurist trimmed my cuticles TOO much until my cuticles and nail beds were red, raw, and one of them began to bleed. The following day all of my cuticles and nail beds felt sore and look dry, cracked and flaky. It was a very uncomfortable experience. In addition, there was a hair stuck in the wet polish of one of my nails. Instead of trying to remove the hair, she just tried to paint over it. I had to ask her twice to please redo my nail entirely because it was a large black dog hair that was clearly visible. The entire salon was clean and the pedicure chairs were new, very relaxing and clean. I did appreciate that all the manicurists wore gloves and changed them between doing my feet and my hands. My manicurist was otherwise very attentive and helpful however I will not be returning to this nail salon. read more

I just got my nails done today and I really love how they turned out ! they took really good care of my nails and cuticles and they were really sweet and professional with a great attention to detail. I've been to pricier , fancier nail salons but I still prefer this one because for such a low price they do a really good job compared to the other ones in town. In 2007 when moving back home to Austin, TX, I was searching for a nice pedi-home and stumbled across this small business. I've been returning to Tammy, otherwise known as "T", ever since. She's the owner, and not just for the reason, but they have all been very sweet, always remembering who I am by name; And if you're a salon girl, you know this is always appreciated. I brought one of my close girlfriends with me in 2009, and she as well has enjoyed revisiting the Technicians at Golden Nails. Our ritual includes us both enjoying a good Starb's from next door while getting a well-deserved pedi. I have no plans of moving from Austin any time soon. The lady did an Alright job on my nails but by now my nails are all chipped also it was my first time getting a manicure and i told the lady that but she seemed frustrated cuz i kept giving her the wrong hand lol. I guess she wasn't gonna take it easy on the first timer! Just another strip center nail salon. It smells like nail polish and acetone, it's not super clean or inviting, there was no music on or even bad TV on when I went. The tech was a little too zealous with the cuticle clippers and did that horrible pulling thing with them. I really hope I don't get an infection. She did a decent job of painting them but tried to initially file them with a hue coarse file (why!?!) until I asked her to get a smaller file. She brought back a file the same size but one that was less coarse. $13 regular manicure and she tried to upsell me a few times on getting gel. Nope. She was nice enough but I had having my nails done enough and to have to specify the file, then live through the cuticle pulling while sitting in a noxious room with no music or tv and having to listen to the other tech and a customer go on and on and on about traffic in Austin. I read the reviews before I went in. They were friendly , and made me feel comfortable . The place did not smell like acetone. I felt like they provided a very good service. I had my nails done in gel and felt like the way they applied it lasted as it should. Other two salons I've been to it would start peeling with new growth. I have difficult nails and cuticles ... which is why actual (not my own handiwork) pedicures are not only a luxury, but often a necessity. In general I'm often disappointed with the lack of attention to detail that technicians give to some areas of my toes. Today, however, I gave Golden Nails and Facials a try for the first time. Perfection. Every little stray cuticle was attended to. If engineers did nails, they would do them like this gentleman did. I will be back. read more
