    Harley Davidson leather vest

Once again John hit it out the park!! He helped me put together my custom Harley vest. Told me it would take a couple of weeks but did it in about 12 days!! Every time I come up with a tailor idea, Golden Needle is the ONLY place I go.

John @ Golden Needle Tailoring provided excellent service, quality and value for my son's Junior Prom. He was skilled, efficient, and professional. Our first experience renting a tuxedo. We loved that it was local. Besides the impeccable service they also gave us an amazing deal- $250 prom package, we got a custom tailored designer Michael Kors Tuxedo for my 6'2 son, that included tuxedo, vest, dress shirt, cufflinks, bow tie and dress shoes (size 13). Highly recommend John and Golden Needle Tailoring for your tailoring and formal wear needs. See you next year for Senior Prom John!

The Ritz Gown in caviar by Selkie. Im 5'3" and not wearing any heels. Dress looks exactly the same, just shorter.

Very happy with my tailored dress. It's a Selkie dress, the caviar Ritz gown. It's made for taller people, and Im 5'3 inches. The tailor made sure to clarify where I wanted the dress cut, and did not start until he was certain about what I wanted. I appreciate that. He was able to finish it the same day. Definitely bringing all of my Selkie dresses here for tailoring.

Golden Needle is the best. Everything I bring into there comes out looking custom made. But their high prices reflect their great skill.

I collect vintage clothes and I've taken a 40's tuxedo, a double breasted suit, and a 30's belt-back suit here.

Has team of…read moreat least two other women--all seem experienced and ESL, though Anna's English is very good. 24-minute parking in front was available twice out of my first visits, whether weekend or weekday--but easy to find parking within a half-block walk. Her rates are a GREAT bargain, so great that I paid her more than she asked for, twice. Granted, my substantial-weight crepe evening gown with a fancy flounce "large fluted" hem required an additional 2" taken up--not sure what happened with the first pinning (with my gown heels on) in her shop. I didn't notice was too long after initial hemming while in her shop's small dressing room with full-length mirror, so had to drive almost an hour back again after realizing some "sweep" (drag ) can work for indoor events, but I'll be on gravel and grass a lot, also (actually an OSHA hazard, plus grass and dirt stains unlikely to come out). Not an easy hem due to the elegant outward bias cut! Felt awful asking her to hem more (time consuming!), though I pinned it myself second time at home so I had time to be more careful, this second time. I told her I'd compensate her for her time. In the end, my hem was gorgeous! I asked how much more I should pay her, and she said I didn't need to. That's amazing integrity. I had to pay her more! (A lot of driving to return, but where I live, the tailors are charging 5-10X as much--and know they're flagrantly overcharging. Anna's asking charge was a bargain $90 for tricky hem and taking in tricky bodice; needed two to three weeks.) Anna also took in the top bodice of my strapless gown, which was not easy because there was a 3mm circumferential band of "rubber cement" to keep gown up. I'm very pleased. She took good care of my gown, which is prone to snagging and had a 10" beaded appliqué which didn't help matters. (One reviewer complained of funny smell when she got garment back; happy to report no funny smell, and my crepe gown was in shop for four to five weeks.) Smile, and watch her smile :-D Sweet smart Anna has a twinkle in her eyes and a FANTASTIC sense of humor--though she's so incredibly busy, don't expect nonstop Conan! I asked her before I wrote this if she actually wanted even more business. She replied, with her twinkle, "Yes, more business. More business, more happiness!" 囍 (lol ... I threw my head back, laughing so hard, that I got a little whiplash :-O ouch:))

Unfortunately, my…read moreexperience was not positive so that was when I started looking into the 1 and 2 star reviews on Yelp and Google. They're all saying the same thing about Maria being disorganized and unreliable, which was exactly my experience. And based on reading the negative feedback, I noticed this lady tends to deflect blame. Never her fault. Always something else. I brought in two pairs of jeans for hemming and a wool coat that needed a lining added. Price was affordable. She gave me a week timeline to pick up. I originally planned to pick everything up on Saturday, but I called the next day (Sunday) and asked if I could pick up a day early on Friday instead. She said yes. Thursday came and I called them just to remind them as I've had experiences elsewhere in the past where things got forgotten and I didn't want to make a 25 min drive and finding out my stuff isn't ready. Lo and behold, when I called to remind her I'll be picking up the following day, she said Saturday so I reminded her I called her last Sunday to change to friday. She said okay, she's not busy so she can work on it. I showed up Friday at around 11. My stuff wasn't done. Her employees were working on it. At first she mentioned pick up was supposed to be Saturday. I repeated I've made phone calls prior to change to Friday and she said yes. Then she said I came too early. Say what? We never confirmed on a pickup time. Then she asked me to wait additional 40 minutes. And she argued with me, giving me an attitude. I let her know she was unprofessional and disorganized and this was before I read all the negative reviews. It frustrated me because she had the whole week to work on them and she didn't. Will not be taking my business here again. I do not recommend her business.

It looked as if that's exactly how the dress came in. At the appointment, the owner takes the time to understand how it's supposed look, and how you want it to fit. After the appointment, it was very easy to communicate with the owner. He responded promptly and was transparent. I had to schedule a last minute hemming request and it was done on time! If you're in a pickle, just call and see if he can do it. He will not schedule an appointment if he knows he cannot get it done on time, which I appreciate for being direct. I'll definitely come back but this time without any last minute requests!
