Rude owner! I do not know who this guy thinks he is but he first approached me when I picked up my two young kids. I had no idea who he is and he started to scream at me "you can't drive here!" WTF? No introduction. No context to why he is saying that. But he just kept saying "this is private property! You can't drive through here". Of course, I would get defensive! I had two young kids with me and the other side had construction going on. Where else am I going to go?! And honestly if he would have introduced himself and explained it was a drive-thru it would of made sense. I only later found out because the daycare teacher told me. But seriously? You cannot come out yelling without any context. No one can read your mind. I could have acted in self-defense if you had come closer. I could have kicked you in the face to protect my kids because you were EXTREMELY hostile. Honestly put up a freaking sign! NO ONE knows that it is a drive-thru. I recently took a very difficult dress to be altered here. Don was very kind and considerate. He took the time to take proper measurements and make sure I was happy with the fit. The price for the alteration was very reasonable. It was also done very quickly and that impressed me. The dress had to be taken in on the side of the ruffles which was a bit of a challenge as it could have been noticeable. You cannot tell it was altered at all. I didn't know there was a drive thru cleaners in Alameda! Been bringing my clothes here for about a month now, so far so good. Clothes come back clean and pressed. They missed a spot once but I brought it back on my next regular visit and they took care of it at no extra charge no questions asked. I had left some "medicine," in my pants pocket and forgot all about it. When I went to pick up this weeks batch of dry cleaning what do I find stapled neatly to my shirts in a baggie? That's right. Had a medium oval rug cleaned here, $90 or so. Got it home and it stunk and was still quite dirty, with debris in it. I should have immediately brought it back, but I had a rough day and felt defeated. I mean they did clean it a little, but even the cleaning was odd, as if it were hung and most of the dirt and grim washed down to one side. I'm sure they knew, it's obviously still dirty, so I imagine they get enough business to not give an F. Was looking for a new dry cleaner for my suits since Carl's closed down, but not this one. I really want to like this cleaners. They do a pretty good job with both dry cleaning and laundry, removing stains, maintaining the integrity of garments and doing a pretty high quality job. I also love that they have a drive thru and you don't have to get out of your car, they unload your drop off laundry and place your clean items, bagged right into your backseat or trunk. The problem here is the service. The cashiers seem to have a consistent problem getting the order right. When you get your receipt for the items you drop, they consistently incorrectly count the items and when you return to pick up, the receipt you have in hand, is incorrect and they ask for more money than what is on the receipt. How hard is it to count the laundry items at drop off. I keep saying the next time I won't go back. They really need to get this right. read more

Deceptive. I thought I'd found the perfect cleaners. I paid $18.00 to replace a very short zipper in my jeans. I even waited a week for them to do the replacement. Two weeks go by and I notice that they never replaced the zipper. They did a patch job so that it could zip up temporarily. I paid for a replacement! They didn't even use blue thread to match! When I took them back, the guy told me that it did not look like their work and was super rude. Bad customer service. I do not take my clothing to any other cleaners!! I trusted them to do the work and was super surprised with the patch job. So disappointing and a waste of my time today. I live in Marin County but work in Alameda County ( I decided to continue going to them after I moved). Never going back. I will find a new cleaners in Marin that has some integrity. read more

So my husband usually uses this cleaners and has no problems When he got his things ready to drop off I added a few brand new pairs of True religion jeans to be cleaned also when I went to pick up my things I checked them and realized my black jeans were faded I'm livid I try explaining to that these jeans were brand new and they destroyed them the owner blamed the company that made the jeans. He was like what do you want me to do it's not my fault at this point I'm almost in tears because I'm so angry that he ruined my jeans and is not excepting responsibility for it I make a example for him if I ruined your things I'd replace them I'd make it right eventually he gives me all my things on the house they are not bad people everyone makes mistakes. read more

The only reason these poeple even get one star from me is because of their great convenience. I love the drive-thru. Especially when you have a happily sleeping toddler in the backseat. But that's about all that is good about this place! They could never understand not to press in pleats to my husbands flat-front pants, no matter how many times I would tell them. Then they ruined my favortie top that I had only been able to wear twice. THey refused to take the responsibilty for the damage to the shirt. It was completely ruined. It looked like someone had tie-dyed it red and pink and it was a black and white printed shirt. They told me it was the manufacturers fault that it happened. Went to this dry cleaner because of the drive-through nature - nice and easy. I dropped off a dress that I loved that had gotten a stain on the back. 1. Got dress back, got home (had picked it up in the dark) and noticed that the stain was still there 2. Took dress back and talked to the woman who told me she knew the stain hadn't come out (then why didn't she tell me?) but "you are too messy." After insulting me, she said she'd try again. Come back Thursday. 3. Came back Friday, the same woman says "Your dress is not ready yet, why are you here?" Because you told me to come yesterday. No. Come Monday. My ticket says yesterday. "Doesn't matter, not ready." 4. Came back, and a different woman apologizes profusely for the giant stain on the front that they couldn't get out. Wait, stain on the front? There wasn't a stain on the front. She finds her boss and he says it probably came from somebody else's garment. He'll try to get it out. 5. They can't get out the stain THAT THEY PUT ON THE DRESS and gave me money for it but not what it was worth. Waste of time, loss of dress, rude attitude. read more

I used to LOVE this place. They've gone downhill the past 6 months. They've lost three of my items, on two separate occasions. And haven't taken responsibility. After having gone to them for so long, I gave them a second chance. Never again. Here's what's happened. Upon pickup, they hung the items in the back of the car. And they kept the detailed receipt. I got home and noticed the missing item(s). I went back they said that they didn't have the items. There's no question that I brought the items in. They were some of my favorite pieces. A final nail in the coffin for this place...I brought some items in for an upcoming business trip. Revelation promised that my items would be completed by 10:00 am two days later. I arrived at 10:10 am two days later. They hadn't even started on the items?! They asked me to come back in two hours?! I was flying out for a business trip, for which I needed the clothes, in 1 hour. Didn't get my clothes in time for the meetings. Not reliable. read more

Not going back here ever again. I recently switched jobs and could not use PurpleTie anymore (they only service the Peninsula), so I was stuck looking for a dry cleaner near my home. Tried a test run with them...and they destroyed one of my designer t-shirts. The dry clean press was placed at too high a temperature and destroyed the shirt's logo, lettering, and overall design. I leave t-shirts with spots, all of them are returned with the same spots. I ask for a redo, the spots increase (in number). I complain, the spots are gone, and the t-shirts have lost their color. They don't check what they do. They just don't know what they are doing. Who irons there must be blind. They destroyed my new Lacoste (added indelible blue spots) and refused to refund its cost. They paid only 50%. Problem is: I cannot wear only the 50% of my Lacoste... Awful. read more

They do a very good job here; I've never had anything lost, destroyed, shrunk, etc. The drive through is convenient since it eliminates the need to park and there has never been a line of cars when I've come in. I had a jacket tailored and they did a good job with that too. read more

I'm a big fan of their ability to put patches on a BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) gi. Also, one of the sleeves ripped on a gi and they repaired it so well that no one has ever noticed it was ever torn. Usually people have to buy another jacket when this happens, it's rare to find someone with the skill to repair fabric this thick. The prices are really reasonable also. read more

No one mentioned anything, I noticed the next day after picking it up. I called them several times to talk to them about it and nobody picked up.
