Stopped by with a few friends for brunch and we had a great experience! It was a weekday, so not crowded at all and we were seated right away. We picked 4 dishes to share: - Pancake Trio with cinnamon roll, lemon-berry, and Boston cream pancakes: all 3 flavors were delicious and not too sweet. The lemon-berry pancakes definitely tasted like lemon and blueberry, which is sometimes an issue elsewhere lol. - Nashville Heat Benedict: this dish was my favorite. Chicken was seasoned well and had a slight kick to it. The included hash was decent, not the best I've had but still good. - Pollo Bowl: simple but tasty. Chicken and veggies were seasoned well and cooked well. One friend said she'd definitely come back for this dish. - Stuffed French Toast: this was a miss for us since there was barely any cheesecake filling or fruit. My guess is it was filled when the toast was still too hot, so the filling just melted away. The decor in the restaurant was also super cute, with the bird's nest lights and light blue/teal colors throughout. Perfect for photo ops. I was meeting someone here and had a real hankering for breakfast. The person I was meeting suggested the Golden Nest. I popped the address in my GPS and found the location really easily. It shares a parking lot with another business, but there is ample parking available. When I walked in, I was quickly greeted and then the hostess seated me. The color palette in this location is just lovely: golds and peacock blue. There are both tables in the middle of the restaurant and then around the perimeter there are booths. The location is pretty massive. I was seated at a booth, and then the person I was meeting arrived and was seated. We were greeted by Pablo our server, who was friendly and kind. He took our drink orders. I ordered an iced almond milk latte and a water. I took no time for our drinks to arrive. I looked over the menu and since they were known for pancakes, I knew I had to give those a whirl. They had so many pancake options, then I saw they had a pancake flight, where you can choose three different pancakes, so that's what I did. The person I was with ordered the banana french toast. On my pancake flight I ordered their lemon blueberry pancakes, the cinnamon roll pancake, and then a chocolate chip pancake. read more

Such a great brunch spot! Their dining area is bright, clean, and spacious. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We visited during the middle of the week but based on the size of the waiting area space I bet this place gets busy on the weekends. The food was incredible. The servings are large and presented as artwork. I had the banana bread french toast and loved the caramelized bananas adding an additional layer of crunch. Great place in Madison for a delicious breakfast with ample parking. Golden Nest themed. I recommend starting your meal with a latte or cold pressed juice. Love the variety of breakfast dishes and enjoy the food here so much! So happy that they've opened in Madison, as we've enjoyed the Sun Prairie location before now. Our server, Elion, was excellent. The manager, Jenny, even stopped by to welcome us and check on our experience. My Boston Cream pancakes really fulfilled my chocolate quota for the day. It was so delicious! Took extra money off my card, claim they have no idea what happened or why. I use the SAME SYSTEM every day at work, and regularly post charges from the same card but have never had the same hold. Everyone was shady about it and had an attitude. After tipping well, and being social with our server during brunch. Could not recommend less. read more

Walked in and got a table right away. The ambiance is very bright and yet mysterious. If you look around it's very spacious with lots of seating. Looked like they could accommodate larger groups as well. Our sever was at our table quickly. By the time she brought us our drinks we were ready to order. We had a 3 egg meal, with American Fries, bacon and 2 chocolate chip pancakes. Lemon and Blueberry Pancakes and omelette. Portions were very big. I have at admit, the pancakes were light and fluffy. We've come here twice now. The first time food was just ok and we gave this place another chance. This time it was overpriced garbage. They don't know the most basic thing, how to poach an egg. We ordered takeout and they forgot half the second meal, told us to come back to pick up the rest in 10 minutes. It was not ready at that time. They did not prepare the entire meal so it was warm and refused a refund, coming back to pick up the rest of the meal was their only option. I really want to like this place a lot. The decor is beautiful, the menu extensive and the employees very nice. However both times I have eaten here my food has been lukewarm. I can't figure out if it sits a long time before being served or what? The breakfast burrito is really good. Stuffed with chorizo, eggs, potatoes and avocado. Outside is slightly crispy. It comes with black beans and rice that were both cold. I wish you could just get the burrito separately. I really like my food to be hot and not warm, but am noticing it is only warm at more and more places. read more

This is The Golden Nest's newest location, and I had the privilege of enjoying breakfast there, on their second week of business. The staff (the hostesses, the bussers, the servers, the manager) are very friendly, efficient, and hard working to enure a comfortable dining experience. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and you are nicely spaced out in your respective booths and tables, not at all crammed next to anyone. I literally had oxygen to enjoy my food with my friend, Jack. The order I enjoyed was the Classic Eggs Benedict with fruit, and a glass of 2% milk. I also ordered breakfast tea and entreated myself to a well-presented cup of blueberry-hibiscus with honey. My friend, Jack had the pancake tacos, nicely presented, and stuffed with a breakfast scramble, accompanied by hashbrowns. Jack was kind enough to share the hashbrowns, and they were good. The ambiance and service were excellent. The food--the omelettes--were very tasty, and the coffee was good. However, the toast (just one piece) and the potatoes were cold. The price was about average for a large breakfast. They should improve the quality of pre-prepared foods like toast and potatoes. If I go again, I would order an omelette. And remember to send the potatoes and toast back to the kitchen if they are cold. read more
