I came here before the old location burnt down. The old location had some of the best charbroiled burgers that not mainstream restaurant could offer you. I ordered a pastrami burger granted I haven't been here more than 7 years since the old location burnt down. The burgers was to me just as good as before it had the same hole in a wall taste and charbroiled taste. I ordered some chili cheese fries and those were sub par but not everything can be perfect. From ordering to getting my order through the drive-thru I got my order in under ten mins with no issue. This location has been renovated and isn't like the old but if your looking for a great not to pricey old fashioned burger come to the golden ox it's best to enjoy it now!

Food was cold and chicken is boiled on nachos ,terrible do not recommend this place, 2 nachos plates 45$ aleast hot food and stomach definitely feels not correct

First off, there a lot of homeless people that stay hanging out in here and although it's sad, you can't help everyone. They stare and come to you while you're trying to eat and some are out of it and get aggressive. The staff doesn't tell them anything. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with pastrami fries and the #49 which is an asada plate with rice beans and avocado. My cheeseburger meat was burned. Taste was ok. The pastrami fries were good. The asada plate was terrible. The meat was so hard it felt like chewing on a piece of rubber. For what we paid, you'd expect to get a decent dinner. Not to mention the fact that the staff is having loud gossiping sessions that we can all hear. I definitely do NOT recommend coming to eat here. Save your money, pay attention to the reviews, and go to another diner.

Not very happy with my visit I order $60 worth of food. They put everything in one bag shoved it through a window. The condom bag exploded in the process and everything spilled bacon. I asked for it well done it was an edible my French toast were really good, but the experience itself and not being able to use the condiments make this experience not worth coming back

It took them at least 20 minutes in the drive thru to make my order. I ordered a chicken strip plate for lunch one weekday and I don't think they even started making my order until after I got to the window, paid, received my drink and waited 5 more minutes. That is when I finally saw them drop the fries into the fryer. I should have looked at other reviews but I was in the area and hungry so I went here. I'm sure some food is good. It looked like many people were ordering burgers so maybe that doesn't take as long? However after all that, the plate was big ($13) but not sure worth the long wait and price. They do give a big side on ranch with it though.

So their drive thru speaker sucks. I originally ordered a taquito plate combo, chicken sandwich, and double cheeseburger. Waited about 10-15 minutes to get to the window. When I pulled up they had added a whole other cheeseburger combo to my order. I let them know I didn't order it and they said "oh ok I must have mistaken it for the chicken sandwich my bad". So they take my payment and when I get my receipt I see they never took off the cheeseburger combo. At this point I said whatever we are all just hungry and it's late so I didn't make them give me a refund for that. We get home and check the taquito plate and realize they are hard as rocks. I know they are supposed to be crunchy but they should definitely still be edible! My daughter left the taquitos and barely had some beans. The cheeseburger I didn't order and they gave me was also burnt around the edge. So now I'm annoyed because I was over charged and the food wasn't even edible. THEN the next day I'm checking my transactions and realize that they double charged me. Had to drive there and I tried speaking to the manager but he wasn't there. (BTW it was super hot and musty in their I felt bad for the workers and the people trying to eat there) The girl that helped me was very apologetic and called her manager which he then told her he couldn't do anything because the payment hadn't processed yet. I asked them to check if they were over on their ATM sales because it was almost $40 and that's definitely noticeable and they said they were short last night so idk something isn't adding up. They said this has happened before and that I should wait because it might be an error on MY banks end and that the second charge "probably" wouldn't go through. So I waited and both charges went through. I then come to yelp and I see that someone else had the same issue. So either the workers are scanning twice or their machine is broken and they just don't care to switch to a non defective machine. Honestly the quality of food is not worth the prices either. NEVER AGAIN! I ended up going through my bank to get my refund.

Staff are always friendly and helpful in the drive-through. They make your orders fresh so you have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. Burgers are well cooked and juicy, plentiful crispy fries. Standard soft drink included in the meal deal. good reliable choice for a takeout burger meal. They do sandwiches too, but I haven't tried that yet. read more

Only one table seated and eating at lunch time which is alarming but the staff is super helpful. Not necessarily professional but when dealing with the customers they are. Guess they assumed I didn't understand what they were saying. Food was made rt in front of me it was good. Nothing to write home about but good. They gave a very generous portion of fries. We'll let's start by saying there service is horrible Prices online are completely different then the ones at the restaurant Angelo the owner really is unprofessional he needs to clean this place up dirty just gross ! They need to train their employees to listen to what the customer is ordering ! Food was not what we ordered the prices were wrong they charged us more then the website is saying . I usually go to this location and there's always these two young men that are taking the order at the drive through or counter. I've always gotten my order correct even when I ask for EXTRA seasoning on my fries. TODAY I go theres a new girl at window took my order blah blah I get home and I see a crazy amount of seasoning on my fries plus it's in my club sandwich which by the way only 2 slices of my club had bacon. Not sure what's going on but I definitely won't be back if those young men aren't there. Paying 16 bucks for a box of salt is outrages. read more

Zucchini fries and onion rings were delicious tonight! I don't know what ya'll be doing in that kitchen but they were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and fresh with just enough firmness to give you that satisfying bite. They were salted nicely. PACKED the tray! Will be ordering again read more

Food is decent but way way overpriced. You would expect to pay 12-15 dollars for a pastrami sandwich on the high end, but $20!? No thanks! They definitely don't make it in house so I don't know why it's so overpriced. My mom use to take our family there for affordable and delicious food, but unfortunately I won't be continuing the tradition she started. read more

Way too expensive for a basic burger joint. For ONE Pastrami meal that includes fries and a drink it was $22 and for ONE side of thousand island it was $1.53 extra. Will never go here again. Also, in skimming the menu their chicken sandwich was $17 and so was their loco fries. They ain't no restaurant not sure why their prices are so high. I've been to places way less even with inflation. This place is a rip off. If your paying $22 for a meal they should at least give you a side at no cost or a reasonable cost. read more

I used to enjoy eating here. Ordered different entrees. Then I noticed the food started to get super salty. I asked them not to put salt as I ordered. They said they don't. Here is the lost in translation part. I am reporting the food is too salty than normal. By replying you don't, you are not trying to address the issue. Tried to eat here a few more times and realized the orangeish oil is what is super salty. It is on their fries too. Like reusing old seasoned grease or something. The harshbrowns would have some bites that are super salty (where the oil stayed) and then back to no seasoning. Staff has always been friendly. read more

Stoped by for breakfast drive thru. On the bright side, they opened 5 minutes early. On the downside I was categorically disappointed with the food. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs which comes with biscuits and gravy, sorta. There seems to be no seasoning on the gravy and the 'biscuits' are two thinly sliced, sorta biscuits under the chicken fried steak. there so hard pressed that they don't really get much/any gravy on them so its more like an open face sandwich. read more

Thank you! We are Covid ridden and called to find out what we could expect on our ordering service. Quite frankly these persons were awesome. The young man on 1/23/23 at 8ish pm was great! He made a commitment to us considering our ordering options were "meh" and he followed through! We are trying not to leave the house in order to not infect others... And he made it where we weren't uncomfortable! Thank you! read more

Asada fríes tasted rotten idk if it was the meat or cheese , we had ordered with no guac, sour cream or pico de Gallo , as soon as we tried the food we almost threw up , we checked the food carefully and noticed green gooey stuff all around the asada fries it was really disgusting we will def not be going back ever read more

I couldn't find a specialty drink I loved so I wanted to opt for my go to but they didnt have just a vanilla latte without the sage (part of their vanilla). I didnt want something herby. So I tried their banana latte. I was a bit bummed. The banana taste was a bit artificial and whatever crunch top they put for it wasn't very good. It would have been nice to have a caramelized crunch or something. Coffee is such a competitive market and there are some incredible spots in the area. We split an order of seasoned fries and an icy cold Pepsi. Price was fair and customer service was super homely. Wait time for our food was minimal and they even walked our lunch baskets to us. My wife really enjoyed her western-style "Treasure" burger and I essentially inhaled my double cheeseburger. They were both cooked perfectly, without rush, and very neatky assembled, as if the cooks were prepping it for themselves or for royalty. Definitely recommend this spot and will return. Next time I'll try the Treasure burger, but only as a double burger because I'm really trying to watch my figure.

The fries are of medium thickness- Think of that middle ground between McDonald's cigarette-width fries and the (frankly, fat) steak fries that Red Robin serves. They come perfectly sprinkled w/ seasoning salt, fried to a decadent golden crisp. Pros- Kudos to the young man and woman behind the counter, both of whom visibly cleaning table tops and sweeping floors during (rare) pauses in the more or less steady drum beat of Pomonans who drop in for a meal. LV Burgers serves a battalion of "aguas frescas" to quaff even the fiercest of thirsts- Flavors incl cucumber & lime, strawberry, blueberry, horchata and a roving flavor of the day- Just ask! My sole gripe? The sinking "nickel + dimed" sensation that struck when the staff insisted on collecting an additional $0.87 for a refill of my medium Diet Pepsi. When you're charging $3.49 for a medium (16 ounces) soda that costs the proprietor, oh, around thirty cents- Don't make your dine-in customers feel insulted by charging 'em for (one) refill. In sum, this small restaurant does a lot very well. It may be named for "Sin City" and located in a decidedly working class neighborhood but it punches far above its weight! A fantastic meal at a fair price. Your favorite correspondent spent $17.83, incl tax and a small tip.

Our guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the space was, how smoothly everything flowed, and how welcoming the staff was throughout the evening. The food was an experience we'll never forget and we truly appreciated having a taste testing appointment, this was such a nice experience for us. Coco Palm provided us with the perfect setting to celebrate our love and begin this new chapter as husband and wife. Such a cool spot…read more The Mexican Sidecar was the winner for me. I almost skipped it because of the heavy cream, but I'm glad I didn't. It had this amazing thick, frosty consistency that made it incredibly refreshing. Rich and flavorful without being overly sweet. The Spanish Latte was also delicious. A little lighter, a little sweeter, and perfect if that's more your style. This is one of those places that makes you want to come back just to try more of the menu. Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

Their Yelp page, voicemail, and Instagram all say they open at 7:00 AM, but on Saturdays they don't actually open until 7:30 AM. Showing up based on the hours they advertise only to find out they're closed is a waste of customers' time and completely avoidable. The food is decent (better than traditional fast food breakfast) but a little overpriced, and that doesn't make up for repeated order mistakes and inaccurate business information. These are basic things a restaurant should get right. We may give them another chance because the food has potential, but they seriously need to fix their posted hours and improve order accuracy. Right now, the inconsistency outweighs the positives.

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

The menu has several breakfast meals, sandwiches, bagels, coffee, tea and juices. I ordered an "Everything" bagel and latte. The employees are very friendly and are quick to complete your order. Ordered a club sandwich. WITHOUT MAYO and they packed it with Mayo. I'm allergic to Mayo. Imagine i had not seen this! Ruined my lunch. I had 30 mins. Waited 15 mins in there drive thru. Plus the drive there and back. Now i don't have food to eat. This place really doesn't care about a customer. I could have had a serious bad allergic reaction. Check your food people. Specially if you have allergic reactions. Look how old the lettuce look. read more
