I do not recommend this place for anyone there food suck and there scallion pancakes are hard as rocks the sauce that goes with it smells spoiled and it seems they give you leftover food when you order it's not worth it spend your money elsewhere they don't have great customer service and they ask to much personal questions and there plates are small and cost 20 each plate i spent over 50 dollars for garbage that me or my kids didn't eat because of the food being nasty I'm only gave one star because there is no option to give none read more

I always used to go to golden palace and the food was pretty good but I recently moved and one night I tried to search Chinese restaurants open near me and golden palace popped up I was surprised I could get food delivered given I'm living out near Mansfield. I moved to this area over 25 years ago. I have driven by this restaurant hundreds if not thousands of times. I have NEVER seen more than 1 or 2 cars in the parking lot, which must belong to the workers unless they all walked to work. I visited here once, and as many others have said, no one greets you, the place is completely empty, (no customers, no staff), and the food is laughably bad. The guy who came out of the kitchen to finally greet us must also have made the food. This restaurant is impossibly bad in both service and food quality. Yet it is a pretty big place, occupying a large space in its own corner of the mall. If they had 5 times the business they actually do, they would have gone out of business decades ago. The fact that they literally have had almost zero business for about 2 decades but are still open tells me this place must be a front. This is either a money laundry or some kind of secret Mortal Combat headquarters operated by Mr. Hand from Enter the Dragon. No real restaurant can be this bad, for this long, with so little business, and still be open. Either that, or the CIA have a training school for assassins in the basement of this place. One of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. The spot is very low-key my wife and I were the only ones in there and it was fairly early. But let me tell you, this place was slamming. they put pepper on the pork fried rice which is some thing I've never seen before, but it was delicious. let me tell you all the reviews are cap this place is delicious, the food was fresh the drinks were good I can't complain. read more

If i could give this place negative 5 stars i would me and my girlfriend went here the night before we were getting on a plane for Las Vegas the next morning and needless to say we both started getting sick the night we ate and the next morning we were really into it fighting for the toilet we sure played craps right here in Massachusetts and had to change our plans and go to Vegas another time and that costed us as well STAY AWAY unless you too are into playing craps. read more

Appetizers are delicious. I recommend trying their Mai Tai or Scorpion Bowl drinks--You'll definitely get a nice buzz after that. The lounge usually gets busier during the evenings, so this is a good time to drop by to mingle with regulars and/or find people to play billiards with. read more

Since I started a job last year in Canton I've had a chance to try out most of the Asian restaurants on 138 from Canton to Stoughton for lunch. I tried this place last because when I drive by it seems that nobody parks at the restaurants parking lot at any time, noon, 1pm, 2pm or 3pm seems to be void of any business. The restaurant is situated in the Stop n Shop plaza on 138 but a good distance away from the Stop N Shop parking spots, so even two cars in the lot makes it seem empty compared to the Stop n Shop parking lot. This is MY FAVORITE Chinese lunch destination for a good lunch and it's price. The food has been great, I think the fried rice is the best around. I usually order off the lunch menu for $6.95 to $7.95 the plates are fully loaded with your dish, enough for lunch. I usually eat a chicken or vegi dish because I can't eat meat from a cow. They also have a $8.95 dish and appetizer you can pick for lunch or din also a good amount of food. The aps I've had, I've enjoyed (Scallion Pancake, spring roll, pork, fried chicken, fried shrimp)They provide you with tea and water as well. The waitress and the owner/cook have always been friendly, during the holidays the waitress gave out some really nice Asian bamboo calenders. I've brought a co-worker who went back a second time because he was impressed that he didn't feel sick after eating which usually Chinese will do to him. The second time he was not happy with the crab-rangoons which I haven't had. The decor has actually made people get up and leave before trying the food. I witnessed this one day at lunch. Let me say something about the inside. Some of the booths could be updated but really I think it's got a lot of charm for such a large place. In the ceiling instead of just plain drop ceiling panels they have unique Asian motif ceiling panels. I usually am seated in the same spot every time I visit so I can't say what the rest of the place is like on the inside! I hope they get more take out orders and have a larger crowd on the weekends or at night but I don't know because I'm not in town at night. I've seen people in the restaurant eating, groups of 4 or more as small as 1. I've seen take out go out as well. However I have a late lunch usually 2pm so that's got to be a slower time. I guess the best way to explain this is to say: If you looking for a sit down, inexpensive place for lunch you should try it out. It's better then McDonald's for you you and it's less expensive. The place was empty at lunch time and I wish I had taken that for a hint. No one there to greet you. After waiting five or so minutes and saying hello a few times, someone finally came and show my friend and I to a table. We ordered a Pu Pu Platter and shrimp fried rice and lobster sauce and an order of ribs. For our drinks we ordered the suggested Mai Tai. The food was tasteless and the drinks were very strong and gave me an awful headache. No one else came in the whole time we were there. The phone rang once or twice. We were very disappointed and will never go back there ever again. This experience was the very reason why I downloaded this app. read more

How does this place stay in business? Food is terrible (stale/hard rice, hard chicken fingers, burned aftertaste to rice/noodle dishes). Hands down the worst Chinese food in town. I've rarely seen any other customers inside and have walked into the restaurant and had to wait several minutes until someone came out of the kitchen - place looks completely abandoned. WORST FOOD let alone ASIAN FOOD. I've ever had. The staff is spread so thin that the cashier the bartender and the cook were the same person. The shrimp is imitation half inch shrimp and the rice is black not brown or white and the general gau's chicken tastes like warmed-up frozen meatballs. My daughter wanted Chinese food on her birthday. Rather than get take out from our usual place, I decided I wanted her to have the "chinese restaurant experience" of the flaming poo poo platter and chinese tea, etc. I hadn't been to Golden Palace (or inside any Chinese restauraint) in about 20 years because my son only recently acquired a taste for it -which is why we only did take out for all those years. We tried one place first but it looked more like a store front vs. a chinese restaurant. I was going for the more familiar ambiance vs. a sterile Chinese restaraunt. I didn't want to travel to dedham for Tahiti, The old Honolulu in Norwood has been long closed and didn't really know where else to go that didn't have a few bad online reviews. So we went to Golden Palace. since I remembered it. We almost didn't go in because there was NO ONE in there but we ventured in and we are so glad we did. Although it is old looking in there, it was clean which is what matters. Our waitress was friendly (yet respected our time as a family and kept a watchful distance) and helpful and even offered up we were ordering too much food for the size of our party. I appreciated that as she could have just let up rack up the bill. I can honestly say it was the best Chinese food I had eaten in years!! It wasn't greasy whatsoever, and it all looked and tested fresh. The crab ragoon was filled and delicious. The boneless spareribs were my favorite of any place. As I said not greasy. Both of my kids also really enjoyed everything about it. I wish I could explain why it was empty. I tried to rationalize it that maybe they do a big take out business but I saw no one coming and going for that. I did notice there are alot of Chinese restaurants on route 138 but other than that there is no real reason for no one to be there. We really thought the food was great. read more
