This was easily the worst restaurant experience of my life. My group went here at 12:00 PM for a reunion, and the place was completely empty--not a single other customer came in the entire time we were there (until 2:15 PM). There were no waiters or waitresses, only the owner. The smell inside was terrible, like a musty old house. As for the food, it looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. Chicken garlic ... most much chicken in dish Egg drop soup ok, not good, not bad Dish came with 2 chicken wings instead of chicken fingers ordered? Chicken wings awful and tasted the previous frozen ones I buy in a bag ... breading awful. Beef teriyaki was five small pieces for 15.70... pricey. Beef overcooked, tough, not much flavor. We've had hit or miss on local Chinese takeout lately. It's been kind of depressing. Alice's was brought up last week. Way, way back I used to buy baseball cards at a nearby shop and I would grab lunch there. It was always good. For the life of me I don't know why we haven't been back, I was glad to see that we're within delivery range, so we made a nice order. And I will say the food traveled well. Based on positive Yelp talk we got an order of crab rangoon. It's one of my favorites and when done right the crispiness gives way to the inner cream cheese belly and simply melts in your mouth. Loved the crispy hybrid egg roll / spring roll. They'd be awesome with a couple beers watching football, Beef with mushrooms was killer, lotta, lotta shrooms and General Gau's while not spicy was great as well. The plump coated chicken was plentiful! Last dish was a Szechwan chicken not too spicey but that was good. Often taken for granted the fried rice was also really good. The 3 of us agreed this was a 5-star experience and we will continue ordering from Alices restaurant. By the way delivery was quoted 30 minutes and was actually a bit faster insuring everything was hot n crispy and yummy! And for what its worth appreciated the extra fortune cookies! read more

If you are gluten free, have a gluten allergy, do not eat here. I was assured the food will be made gluten free and it came with stickers saying gluten free, but I was violently sick for days. This review is just for their delivery. My friend who lives in Sharon and I got delivery today since she didn't have a car for a few hours. They promised delivery within 20-30 minutes and it was accurate. They knocked on the door but we didn't hear them and so they called me to tell me they had dropped the food off. Definitely pricier than my area (Detroit) but you do get a large portion of food. I had cashew chicken with fried rice and my friend, who is vegetarian, had Hawaiian fried rice, which comes with pineapple. They were generous and gave us FOUR fortune cookies, and the cookies were half-chocolate, which was tasty. Delivery was $3 on their website and then they add $1 for a "convenience fee" so really like $4. The food was very tasty so overall I'd order from them again. read more

Not like I remember anymore. There was a pretty bad smell, as if their sewer got backed up. The food itself was pretty good. Did not like that the hostess/waitress wanted to box our food and did not allow us to do it ourselves. Sad to say it's not all all the glory it used to be. today, I wanted to give my son a surprise by taking him out for early dinner with an old friend of ours. I picked him up from school and took him to Mandarin Taste in Sharon, MA. While waiting for our order, waitress yelled at my 7 year old son for taking a paper mat to draw on. Waitress yelled "they are for plates nor for drawing" . while having our meal my son picked up a basket that was on our table . He was admiring the design and patters on it and the same waitress that was casually walking by our table, abruptly snatched it off from his hands and walked away . My son with tears in his eyes asked me why she did that. This time I talked to her and she raised her voice and talked over me. This waitress is not only A person with very poor costumer service skills but she was rude,unkind and disrespectful To a little child. This place gets good reviews from some in Sharon. I've ordered takeout 5 times in the last 2 months. The first few times the food was good but both times there was a mistake with the order. The next time we ordered on the way. We were told 20 minutes but decided to go in right away, five minutes after we placed the order. The order was already ready which implies they either heated left overs or they have a magic chef. The broccoli was rubber like and beef was tough to chew. The five stars is for the Okra with Sliced Beef sauteed in spicy bean sauce (delicious!!), nice interior design & decor with unique artistic touches, and friendly service. The okra dish mentioned above had generous portions and reasonably priced. However, the crab Rangoon and lo Mein were overpriced and had mediocre flavor. The waitress was thoughtful to come back a second time to ask my picky daughter if she wanted to add additional ingredients to her "Plain Lo Mein," which consisted of only noodles, convincing her to add more nutritional contents like broccoli and tofu. Ordered five dishes of takeout to supplement a family dinner for Chinese New Year. Three of the dishes were excellent to good - Moo Sho Pork was nicely prepared with shredded pork and more than typical, flavorful with the Hoisin Sauce. Beef with Green Beans in Black Bean/Garlic sauce was good - plenty of beef, nice beans, well cooked and seasoned. Lasty, beef chow fun - very good and not all stuck together after getting home. Usual recipe, but the noodles were oiled well enough that they did not stick together in a block of pasta. Unfortunately, two dishes were pretty bad - sweet and sour shrimp - huge battered pieces with small shrimp inside - mostly batter - my daughter said she ate the entire piece about 5 inches long only to find the shrimp in the last two bites, and the sweet/sour sauce was too runny and didn't really stick to the shrimp. The salt/pepper shrimp were small fried shrimp, probably about 7 sitting in a bed of lettuce, peppers, onions. Unfortunately, not any of the shrimp tasted of salt and pepper seasoning - not one. They were battered, but someone forgot the seasoning. Very disappointing. Overall, okay, but we have had better. Looking for a place between my work in South Boston and our home in Wrentham. May try this place again, maybe with the family. We understand that take-out is not always the best presentation for taste and appearance of a cooked dish. read more

Stopped by on 2/7/23 for dinner; the place was empty. Service by male waiter with rolling cart was impersonal and aloof. Enjoyed warm sake and Crab Rangoon. We had the Singapore Rice Noodle with chicken for an entree. All of the food must be pre-cooked and prepared as the delivery of everything was too fast to be otherwise. glad to find a place so close to home that not only serves decent Chinese food but ALSO offers a good amount of gluten-free options! owner and staff are always courteous and alert to customer needs - even down to opening the double door entry for people with strollers. staff is generally knowledgeable of the menu and possess satisfactory basic English skills...ordering on site or over the phone was never an issue. all signs of effective management. food is delectable, if slightly on the pricy side given the portion size (a la carte)...but, that's Sharon for you. that said, lunch specials give a generous portion with a potpourri of this-and-that - great value for money, though i'd feel overdosed with that syrupy sauce on the main dish. some dishes, i find, are made kind of in their own way, not what "they have always been known for". for example, they tend to use one type of soft yellow noodles (which i don't care for) on all noodle dishes, even for ones that are traditionally served with white noodle. that, or they use udon, which is specifically listed on the menu, but rather bordering on the Japanese/Hong Kong fusion side of the cuisine instead of Chinese. decor-wise, it is obvious that good investment was made on interior design, and it's done tastefully so. though i personally find the lighting a little dim, esp during the day, giving it a sleepy vibe. the restaurant is reasonably clean, though sometimes the booths might feel like they can use a quick wipe. maybe it's just how faux leather works, maybe it's the humidity, maybe it's even the cleaning products being used...i don't know. overall, it's a very decent option in the area whenever one finds him/herself in need of a Chinese fix. with a good number of ethnic Chinese population in town, though, it might be a great opportunity to offer "less Americanized" Chinese dishes for those who miss the flavors from home! p.s. those "siu mai" are a total turnoff. please just stop. read more

Wow, I'm shocked to even be writing this, but what a disappointment! Have been going there for years, normally 4-4.5 level food, but today things caught up with the price. For years it was a balance where the food was seemingly worth the price, but today the food (terriyaki and chicken fingers specifically), minuscule portion, did not nearly seem worth the price. Plus, the owner couldn't even muster a hello when we made eye contact. Weak!!! I think I'm done with this place and will frequent Chinatown in stoughton and Sichuan gourmet in Sharon a lot more. I'd give both the service and the food zero stars if it were possible. I asked our server, a 60-ish woman, if a specific dish had bell peppers, which I can't eat. She told me they did, so I asked about a different dish. She told me that it had cabbage. I mentioned again about the peppers. You guessed it! The dish came with cabbage and chunks of peppers. I returned it. BTW her English was quite good. It would have been nice if she had said "hello," "please", or "thank you." A young man on the scene was pleasant. The hot and sour soup was tasty, but the Szechuan pork was barely spicy. The meat was so gristly, that I couldn't chew it; I spit it out. Both our dishes were overly greasy, and the mushrooms in the soup and the beef dish were canned. A decent Chinese restaurant would have used dried Chinese mushrooms. read more

While they are a bit more expensive than other Asian restaurants in the area, it is well worth the extra money. Having recently moved to Walpole we were looking for good Chinese food and we found it. We won't even try anyplace else. Best bone in spareribs we have had in a very long time, the spicy green beans with pork could have used a bit more spice but I asked for hot oil, so I was all set.
