I'm upset with myself for not trying this restaurant out sooner. Great location, especially in proximity to my house. You can't eat in, take out or get your food delivered. You can even order online. They take your order by number over the phone and that's how you will pick up. I ordered take out: Pint Wonton Soup Egg Roll Pizza Roll Steamed Dumplings Quart Pork Lo Mein What I wasn't expecting was the huge portion sizes. You get more than expected. When you walk in you know exactly what to expect. Again, expectations. The food was decent enough, the server was very sweet and they got me in and out quick with a lunch special. I was getting my car serviced next door so the ease was more important than the dining experience. My biggest complaint was that the dining room also seemed to be serving as some storage area. Ordered basic items: house fried rice, egg drop wonton soup, spring rolls and fried chicken wings. I ended up trashing majority of it. The only items that were decent for human consumption were the spring rolls and fried rice. Both were bland with very little flavor however, they were decent enough to consume.The egg drop wonton soup was bland and extremely oily. The fried chicken tasted and smelled like it was kept in a refrigerator or freezer for too long. The texture was rubbery and the outside looked like it had been fried twice! Considering the price I paid for the items plus delivery I expect for the food to at least be eatable. I will never order from this establishment again. read more

Food was tasty but I've never been to a Chinese restaurant that did not put soy or duck sauce in the bag.

I'm just a few dates in to my Golden Palace relationship, I can already tell it's probably not going to work out between us over the long term. Consistency of taste in what I've ordered has been non-existent; getting essentially the same things on three occasions, one would think the orders had come from three different restaurants. These are basic items, too: things like Pork Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup. But I have enjoyed several things we've gotten there, such as an off-menu order of Chicken with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, and the Boneless Ribs. However, a few pints and quarts of food have gone straight into the trashcan, and that's particularly galling when those dishes were verging on excellent when previously ordered. They're a convenient and easy stop in town, and have fairly prompt delivery within a generous radius. If you're not at all picky, go for it, I guess - but not too far out of your way. read more

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants. I ordered the hot and sour soup, chicken with vegetables and the Buddhist delight meal. The food was so tasteful and everything was super fresh. I used to love this place and order all the time ... today I put in and order for delivery like I normally do and they refused to deliver my meal when I live down the street because my meal was 40 cents short ! Out of control! I was a great customer and now they will never see a dime of my money ever again! I'm pretty sure their "scallion pancakes" are actually just deep fried Mu Shu wrappers with a single flake of green onion in the middle. They're paper thin, rubbery and flavorless. At our last visit, my wife's eggroll had a long hair cooked into it and our pork fried rice had a large glob of fat with no meat attached. Yuck. I think I'm done with this place. read more

I'm relatively new to the area so I'm trying to find a good Chinese place. This place has decent food, but can be a little pricey - especially for the quality of the food. The general Tsaos can be a little soggy sometimes, but the flavor is good. The egg rolls are only good early in the day before the oil has been used all day. Had the worst delivery experience with this restaurant. Ordered $70 worth of food. They delivered to the wrong address, even after clarification on the phone. And then when they are told about it, they want to argue and try to say it's my fault. How I should've spelled out the street name, and they were giving me an extremely hard time about the refund. The home they delivered it to was a couple blocks away so we went, and they said they came home to their kids eating food, no adult accepted the delivery order. Why are you giving a delivery to children? Why aren't you on the phone making sure the person you're calling who is supposed to receive the food is outside? So I had to show up in person, and get my refund back, and also let them know how UNPROFESSIONAL they were. If a customer is ordering a large amount of food and your staff takes it to the wrong place, you should be apologetic, asking the customer if they want the food re-made and sending it out, if not then processing the refund. This place is amazing! There quality of food is great! I have officially been converted from my old go to Chinese food stop to hear. They deliver pretty quickly and the girl (sandy?) who takes the orders is very very friendly! :) the people who delivery are also very friendly. My fiance and me both have tried there house special lo mein. Its so much better then our usual place. I tried there sushi which is pretty decent as well! Overall great experience! Their food is good , however if you ask for extra mustard or another condiment, they want to charge you a coypke of bucks! I know thst if im spending 50$ on an 9rder, i dont wantbto hear that im going to be charged 2$ for mustard! Just ordered for the first time. The food was delicious! I special ordered General Tso's Shrimp and it was crispy and perfectly cooked, with lots of yummy brocolli too. My husband's Szechuan beef kept his face in his plate, making me think he enjoyed the beef, peppers, onions and spicy sauce. Both the egg rolls and shrimp rolls had thin crispy wraps and fresh fillings. Ordered for ASAP delivery and the food arrived hot and 15 minutes before the estimated hour delivery time. The wonton soup was not bad, but I prefer a thinner wrap on the wonton. Priced great and my new go-to for Chinese delivery. read more

We ordered for delivery this past week. It was a random weekday evening, but it was raining. It was just two of us ordering-- they ordered pretty timely-- probably around thirty minutes. We also live in West Deptford-- the corner of Woodbury line. The food was fresh and pretty hot. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with white rice-- some of the chicken was kind of overcooked but all in all it was pretty good. My husband really enjoyed their spicy wings. You would have to be a Sushi Lover to understand that the fresh fish and variety of additions to make up the selection of rolls is a great addition and find in historic Woodbury. I have tried sushi in many places around South Jersey and this truly is at the top of my favorites list. My friend tried some of the more traditional Chinese dishes and they were delish too!! There is also a Hibachi there and the show they were giving while we were there was a lot of fun. I will definitely get a group of friends together to try that as well. The most unique to set Golden Palace apart from all the others was at the end of the meal, instead of the traditional fortune cookie (we got those too) there was a dish of fruits like kiwis, strawberries and melons sliced and made into a dragon! It was a great way to end the meal. We felt really felt bad about eating it since it was a piece of art made from fruit! Anyway....this is a great place and will definitely return for many trips to come! read more

Tonight I ordered beef sticks as an appetizer and sweet and sour shrimp with shrimp lo mein as my entree. The food was not good at all. The beef sticks had a weird flavor to it and the meat was very tough. The sweet and sour shrimp was okay, but the sauce was absolutely horrible! It was kind of watery and not thick like the sauce I'm used to when ordering sweet and sour shrimp. The only thing that was bearable to eat was the lo mein, but probably because I just asked for only noodles and shrimp. I wont be ordering here again. read more

We tried this restaurant on a Saturday night back in May as we were looking for Chinese food and sushi, but we wanted something better than a buffet. And I am glad we did - it was fantastic. I ordered way too much (appetizers from both the Chinese menu and the Japanese menu, plus Moo Shu Shrimp) My friends are very picky about their sushi. They thought it was presented nicely and tasted great. We even got to watch the sushi get made! The only thing I wish is that they bring the Hibachi table back.
