My boyfriend brings me sushi takeout from here often since I live 45 min & it's always fresh & delicious with huge rolls! Don't eat here go somewhere else. When you have something goes wrong they seem to deny it and make it about you it was your fault. My daughter went there for food and left in an Ambulance!!! This was all due to their error when she made sure and asked for no peanuts or peanut sauce. When someone tells you it is not in there you expect it not to be there. Aside from the prices, everything else is excellent, including the food and sushi. There was a time I would have gone to the other Asian place down the road, but not anymore. Tokyo Mandarin is the only place to go in Marmora and has cornered the Asian restaurant market. The staff can be friendly at times, and I can ignore the rudeness from time to time for the quick table service. When you order in, it's so much better than take-out. The ambiance when we entered Tokyo Mandarin of Mullica Hill was warm and inviting. We were seated immediately and enjoyed chatting with the waiter for a few minutes before ordering. We ordered in and enjoyed Seafood Wor Bar which was exceptional, fresh, delicious and the serving size was abundant. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to any of our friends and neighbors. I used to come to this place all the time when i was in college. I loved it then, i love it now. It has been remodeled and looks nice and new. I got the spicy tuna bento box. The sushi was fresh. Another Yelp success story. With a 3 hour wait for a wedding reception, three of us decided to nosh on some light food. But after tasting just one roll, I really wanted to just go for it and order several more. Lunch specials were offered even on this Saturday, and we all spotted things that appealed to our individual tastes. $8.95 gets you a nice sized entree, with traditional Japanese as well as Thai and Chinese options. And to start we were each served a bowl of very good miso soup. I had to try at least one roll, and as I said, really would have loved to get more. My selection was difficult, some recognizable choices, but some unique ones as well. Mine was called rock n roll and was a perfectly constructed Maki with shrimp tempura and something else(?) in the middle, on top was avocado, crab and bonito flakes. We all enjoyed it. My gf ordered shrimp pad Thai, it was good, every ingredient was fresh, and I was surprised that a sushi place could recreate it do well. Our friend picked shrimp in lobster sauce, again very nicely done, I didn't taste but it smelled and looked very good. I had to go Bento box, nice cold salad with the best carrot ginger dressing I've tasted, spicy tuna roll, chicken teriyaki and rice. I enjoyed every bite. Something sweet was required to end such a good lunch, so I suggested green tea ice cream. My companions were not familiar with it and agreed to try. This was possibly the best example of this not too sweet treat I've ever had. Much darker and flavorful than most restaurants serve. We agreed that is was a great way to end. The decor is very nice, and spotlessly clean, including restrooms. My only regret is that we could not eat more. I visited this place the day before Christmas Eve and I'm not sure because of the holiday season their service wasn't good as I expected. My group ordered some rolls and chef's specialties. Food (4) - Rolls - I really liked how the rolls were made with thin layers of rice. I prefer more meat than carbs - Chef's specialties - The overall ingredients were good and tasty. However, they put a wrong order and made the dish extremely spice. If you like spicy food and can handle the spiciness, I highly recommend to increase the spicy level to 5 which is their max. Service (1.5) - The overall service was disappointing. We felt rushed to finish our meal for the following reasons. First, the waiter was not willing to answer the questions we had related to the menus. Second, because of that, one of our orders went in incorrectly. Lastly, they started cleaning up our table although some people in the group were still in the middle of their meals. Again, very fresh and there were five nice sized shrimp, which wasn't skimpy at all for lunch! My BFF had shrimp w/ lobster sauce, which she enjoyed alot - this is her 'go to' at Chinese places and she fancied this version alot, even though they forgot to not include peas, which our server apologized twice for. I have been eating at all of the Mandarin Court Group Restaurants for the past 20 years. I have never had a bad meal. There sushi is always fresh, the chef/owner always has specials and is very creative. Ask for their special menu. The employees are very serious about their work and may be a bit short as I have read other review, but they make up for it in their attention. If you should be there when the chef's wife and owner is there, you will get the most pleasant experience. Their chinese new years celebration in a wonderful annual experience of a 8 course meal served family style and has been on hiatus since COVID. I hope this will be brought back for Feb. 2023. Okay, my review is a little biased since I went with a few friends, and one of our friends' dad was with us-- he's a sushi chef here. The service was awesome. The food is good, especially their seaweed salad with avocado. OMFG, this stuff was good! They mixed it with some kind of creamy mayo and put avocado on the side. I'm not a fan of avocado but even the seaweed by itself was amazing. Sashimi was plentiful and cut thick, and the rolls were delicious (with pieces that weren't huge and hard to chew). We even got one at the end with mango, and I would have to say that I was my favorite one of the night. Like I said, my review is biased. I didn't order, so I don't know if the things we got were even on the menu. But no matter what you get, the food is good and solid (and the big group next to us were raving about their Chinese dishes). read more

We have sushi once a week, usually in Chilltown where our local places like Komegashi and Honshu serve flawless dishes. So why give 4 stars? well, it's in Glassboro and we usually lower our expectations outside of the greater NYC area. Our daughter's soccer tournaments take all over, and we have to feed our athlete good, nutritious food. Pizza and fast food is out of the question, so we have to try these places. We were greeted warmly by the manager (owner?) Good Friday evening for dinner. Being good Catholics (LOL), we opted to have fish - although I don't remember the Why. The miso soup was excellent - lots of tofu and seaweed, salad dressing was interesting although a little too sweet. I had the Sashimi Deluxe, and at $21, it was an excellent deal. The salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore, flounder selection was good and the fish tasted really fresh. My daughter's rolls were well made and correct, although my wife's tempura was not so good. The waiter was spot on, and generous. He kept on refilling our water and recommended certain things. I got the miso soup and scallion pancake and miso soup. The miso soup was very smooth and the tofu in it was tasty. It's been awhile since I had miso soup that good. Then I got sushi which consisted of: tamago, shrimp, crab, octopus, and salmon. It was very delicous and each bite was flavorful. The octopus seemed a tad tough but it was still delicous. Everything came in good portions. Well worth the $11.95. Then I had banana tempur for dessert. So many bananas. It was so yummy! The bananas didn't feel oily or heavy, they were delicous. Will definitely get them again, and it was big enough to share. $55 in total for everyone. It is certainly an experience. If I was more comfortable with money I would totally go here every week. This unassuming little place in Glassboro, NJ, of all places, is probably now my favorite place to go for Chinese food, now that House of Chen is closed in Chinatown. I know, bold statement, right? It's actually Asian fusion, as they have a mega-extensive menu of Chinese and Japanese staples. I don't eat sushi, but from what I've heard from my co-diners, this place's sushi is very good, and they even have an all-you-can-eat sushi night on Wednesday (I think, unless they've changed their tune recently). The food is good, the price is right, and the service is outstanding. It's definitely a treat for those of us stuck living in South Jersey, but with Philly-style tastes. This is going to sound stupid: All of their food is really delish, but my favorite part of going to Tokyo Mandarin - Their white rice. I swear. It's just SO good. I don't know why... it's just the right amount of sticky. And oh so good. Mock me if you will, but I purposely order things that come with a side of white rice (most of it does, but I always make sure). I discovered this place while I attended Rowan back in the day, and I like to venture back every now and then with the BF for some yumness. For being on a college campus, I've never really seen it super packed, and there's a good mixed demographic in there, not just a bunch of frat kids all the time, so that's nice. So I had quite an interesting experience with this place. I'm new in the area for work, here temporarily and was craving some Chinese food so I ventured out. It's kind of a unique mix, a place that does Japanese food (sushi) and Take-out Chinese food. I called in an order for dinner "combination" for general tso chicken with your standard pork fried rice and an egg roll which I substituted for an egg drop soup. I stopped by to pick it up, pulled into the parking lot expecting a hole-in-the-wall type of take out place, but was pretty surprised at how nice the restaurant was, it appeared to be more of one of those sit-in Chinese restaurants, not so much take-out. Decor was pretty nice and it's a place I'd probably consider bringing my wife! I'm from NYC, in comparison to what I've had before, I have to say the food is pretty good! It had a good balance between being too crunchy, saucy, and spicy. The fried rice was not overly oily, complemented the entree very well! The egg drop soup was delicious as well! So the interesting experience part, I gave my credit card, he swiped it and I walked out. I get a phone call about 10 minutes later asking to please come back that my card didn't go through. I was already on the highway and on my way back home, so I told him I couldn't go back, but promised him to return the following day for lunch. The following day, returned for lunch and they had half off sushi on Wednesdays to which I think the menu had a good variety of different types of rolls/maki.
