Haven't been in awhile so I took the opportunity to have my birthday dinner here. Went with my wife and daughter. Let me start out by saying that the place itself is not much to look at and the furniture could use an update. It's decorated nicely inside. The service was ok the night we went and it's usually better. They had a huge birthday party (about 15 people) that took a lot of their time. However, the reason to come here is the awesome food. They bring you out three dips and pita for dipping. Each one if fantastic. For my meal I started with the salad topped with Mohammed's spiced vinaigrette. The dressing is so good. For my main I got the Egyptian Flounder with veggies and couscous. It came with a side of tahini to put on top if you like to. The Flounder was moist and delicious. The veggies and couscous were also very good. The portion size is incredible. The attached picture shows my meal, WHEN I WAS FULL AND MY MEAL WAS FINISHED. It came with two big flounder fillets. My wife got the crab bisque as a starter and scallops with lobster sauce for her main. I was able to try both since we had so many leftovers. The crab bisque is probably the best I've ever eaten. My daughter got the salad as well and the lamb stew which she really enjoyed. read more

such a gem of an unassuming restaurant, mohammed and cindy are the best! so happy to have been able to catch their last day open before their travels to egypt. the food here is absolutely incredible, and the portion sizes are massive as well, we had leftovers for days! i ordered vince scott's favorite with garlic mashed potatoes and got the chicken soup as my starter. vince scott's was incredible -- the egyptian flounder was so flavorful, and the dash of lemon added the perfect tartness. the lamb shishkabobs were juicy and the vegetables were surprisingly delicious as well. my boyfriend's family are regulars here. every single dish was done so well and the portion sizes are very generous. the restaurant is very homey and cozy. the outside is unassuming, but the food here is truly amazing. cindy and mohammed were both so friendly and easy to talk to. definitely would recommend checking them out in the spring after they return to the states! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. The building is not what you'd expect, but don't let that keep you away. It's clean, friendly, and the food is SUPERB! We have been here several times now, and it NEVER disappoints! Recently, we visited with a party of 9. Everyone raved about their meals and shared their food with each other. I've been singing the praises of this restaurant since they opened on Main St. Their food and service are amazing, and in all this time (20+ years), I probably tried everything on the menu, which is substantial. While everything is great, here are some of my favorites; crab bisque soup, salad with egyptian dressing (it's spicy) stuffed mushrooms, falafel, egyptian chicken and fish, veal parm, anything curry (chicken, scallops or shrimp), steak pizzaola and gumbo. That just scratches the surface. Everything has a taste of Egypt, even the Italian offerings. Save 1/2 or 2/3 of your meal for another day(S) and you may just have room for dessert. I've ordered from here twice in the past few week and both experiences were above and beyond amazing. If I could, I'd give a 6 star. It easily became of my new favorite places and I'm excited for the next time I go. Every single bite has me and my lady geeking out at how delicious it is. The serving sizes for the entrees are generous, and always leave me with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The Curry Chicken is worthy of my highest praise. The crab stuffed mushrooms may have been my favorite crab dish I ever tried. I'm not a big fan of crab, but those stuffed mushies are something out of a dream. I love getting the "Couscous with nuts and hot milk" dessert with my dinner and saving it for the next morning's breakfast. I will recommend this place to everyone. read more

OMG, If you were hungry you will need to go to this restaurant. If you love Mediterranean food or Italian food do you need to go to this restaurant. This is the most awesome restaurant that I have found near Mayslanding in a very long time. Service is exceptional and welcoming food is large sums but delicious. My husband doesn't care for Mediterranean food and he'll go there and eat it that's how good it is. Absolutely fantastic. I have eaten there several times, ordering a different dish each time (and tasting everyone else's) and every dish was wonderful. The portions are huge and the staff is very friendly. The decor needs some work and I wish they had more Egyptian dishes (the menu is mostly "Mediterranean") but other than that, this is a great place to eat - a real diamond in the rough. The only regret I have when talking about Golden Pyramid is not discovering its Egyptian, Italian, and Mediterranean blend of heaven sooner. Chef Mohammed cooks with a masterful attention to the finest detail; every dinner here is made to order. Tonight I started with his Greek lemon chicken soup. There's no question the powerful lemon zest asserts itself as the star of this soupy show. It's bolstered by a cast of appetizing ingredients that play a passive yet impactful role. It's lightness leaves room in your stomach for delights to come without broaching a feeling of levity. Every bite offers a new perspective in taste, its flavors taunt you to find them. I followed with the chicken curry as my entrée, selecting garlic mashed potaotes and saffron rice as sides. The garlic mashed potatoes are wonderful. They inspire a sense of nostalgic familiarity without being offensive in their originality. The handmade smoothness complements an intentional amount of texture so as not to become machined mush. As with all of Chef Muhammeds cusine, I find it difficult to stop myself from hastily devouring what's before me. Hidden gem! Walked in and the owners were soooo friendly and hospitable. To start, you get 3 complimentary fresh Egyptian dips and pita bread (hummus tahini, baba ghanoush, and ful medames) - all three were wildly delicious! All meals are accompanied with a soup or salad. I have done takeout here for about two years now and have always been satisfied. My wife and I the other day decided to try eating in the restaurant. The food was amazing I had the catfish with saffron rice and vegetables which was out of this world. My wife had a seafood entrée that had such great taste she said we have to come here every time we want to go out to eat.. The service was personable and outstanding. We had the desert Baklava, homemade and outstanding may be the best I ever had. The Chef came and met with us, the experience from the food to the service the fantastic. Walked in- after being ignored by several staff members we asked if we could get a seat. Apparently every available table was reserved but maybe we could sit at the bar...... as the only people of color in the restaurant it just didn't vibe well so we left and no one bothered to ask anything more.
