Went here with my husband after lunch. The Golden Spoon is right next to the Sprouts in the plaza. They have seats inside and outside. They do offer samples of the yogurts before you make your decision. I ordered a mini chocolate gelato with rainbow caps, I'm not usually a chocolate ice cream or frozen yogurt kind of gal....but their chocolate gelato was absolutely delicious, it wasn't too sweet and just an overall great chocolate taste. I know it's a weird combination, but for me it worked! lol ..probably only because I love both coffee and pineapple. Anyway, both flavors were amazing together. I was so bummed when they closed the Rsm location because it was conveniently located in a plaza where I go very often. Golden Spoon is also kids approved! My kids love it! Golden Spoon in Mission Viejo, next to Sprouts on Santa Margarita Parkway, was a great stop today with my two kids. We used a coupon for three mini cups (not sure the exact deal), and they were super accommodating by serving the minis in regular-sized cups, which made it much easier with the kids. The staff was friendly and patient, offering samples to help the kids pick their flavors. The topping portions were generous, with plenty of variety, including fresh fruit from Sprouts next door. Everything looked fresh and well-stocked. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside--we enjoyed sitting outside since the rain had just cleared up. I like that Golden Spoon has both traditional and unique flavors of froyo, but I love that they also have a no-sugar-added option, so the whole family can get what they want. I'm partial to the yellow cake batter nsa and it's got only about 80 calories in a mini (and as with most, it's gluten-free as well.) Really good discounts and bonus point days available if you join the rewards club (just need a phone number and they'll occasionally send you offers good that day only.) A great hole in the wall, frozen yogurt shop! My GF and I visited this small shop very close to closing this past Sunday, and were lucky enough to get a chance to try their frozen yogurt. This shop has a variety of yogurt flavors and toppings that are absolutely worth the price. The two girls that were working the shop were very understanding and cooperative with us even though we came almost exactly at closing time. We had a few punch cards for a free yogurt and they wouldn't accept them because they were from before they switched to a new card?? They also refused to accept my gift card because it was too old. But gift cards legally don't expire. So we paid for our ice cream, only to get home and they left one out of the bag! We went back and they wouldn't comp the yogurt or give us a free upgrade or anything for the inconvenience. This chain went way downhill after being bought by whoever this new owner is. read more

The young man behind the counter went out of his way to help us, since it was our first time there. Every flavor we ordered was delicious. We ordered about nine different flavors between my family of three. My favorite flavor was the cookie butter. My son like every single flavor. My husband's favorite was the cherry tart. Golden Spoon with self-service would be 5-stars ... no 6-stars. I prefer the yogurt quality of Golden Spoon over other frozen yogurt shops. That said, I wish Golden Spoon went to self-serve, especially for toppings. Their yogurt is 5 stars, and the workers here are 5 stars (they're great!) ... but toppings and the cup size knock it down 1 star. I've gotten used to self serve, where you can mix as many different yogurt flavors as you wish, and can add as many different types of toppings as you wish. Also, at self serve frozen yogurt shops, they give you a large cup, so you don't have to worry about toppings falling off and making a mess. It's much easier to eat with a large container. What's made it worse is that now they put the graham cracker topping into a salt shaker like container. This is a recent change ... for the worse. Who came up with this idea??? So now, it takes forever to even get 1/4 of what they used to put on, when they were using a spoon. Go back to using the spoon! So, I wish Golden Spoon will go self-serve ... or at least go back to using a spoon to add the graham cracker topping. Or, I wish other frozen yogurt shops get better yogurt ... maybe order from Golden Spoon. Many Golden Spoons have closed, and I believe it's because people just want self-serve frozen yogurt. Have it your way for both the yogurt and toppings. Golden Spoon ... if you're listening, please consider self serve. Or at least, get rid of using a salt shaker to add measly portions of graham cracker topping that take forever. Why did you do that? Also, why don't you just go to a one-size-fits-all larger cup, like everybody else, so it's easier to eat? read more
