We were shopping around for new windows and decided to purchase double pane Milgard. The windows are great they reduce a lot of sound ,energy efficiency and blocked out a lot of ultraviolet rays that kept fading our hardwood floors. Installation was fast it took Golden State one day to install everything. We pulled the permit but the building inspector was very hard to deal with He promised to show up at one time and then something came up and rescheduled. He seemed like he was in a big hurry and just wanted to sign off. Can I give more than 5star? I wish I could. Recently called the company to replace 18 single-pane windows in a very old house. Originally we wanted to change one to bay window too. But when the sales man Alex showed up, he pointed to me that bay window not only expensive but won't look good in my house. After carefully imagining and researching, I couldn't help but agreeing with him. That was the first impression I got from Alex and the company, not pushy, but really standing in consumer's shoes to earn understanding and trust. At that time, I got 3 quotes from 3 reputable companies. The one Alex got me wasn't the lowest, but fair. I signed the contract for 3 reasons 1) the great first impression I got from Alex. 2) Amerimax windows still win the mark in the market, although other brand like milgard is good too 3) I did my own homework before, the margin isn't very big for windows companies. Especially witnessing Alex fighting so hard from his manager to get a good price for me. Several weeks later, the installation team installed all windows in my house. Usually if everything goes smoothly, you won't tell a person or company's character. It happened to me! Installation team accidentally put one into my garage which they shouldn't. God knows such a coincidence that the size even matched. When I contacted Alex again, he didn't say any evasive words. If there were six stars, Golden State would get all six. A team of two neatly removed six windows and a glass sliding door and replaced them in four hours flat. Both the materials and installation were impeccable and the house was a neat as a pin when they were done. Neither the stucco nor the interior paint needed any touch up. We opted for the high-quality Amerimax windows and got a very good price, not much more than for cheaper windows. These windows have argon gas between the panes and extra insulation around the frame. As a result the area of glass is a bit smaller than our original 1960 aluminum frame windows and the window sills are now a lot narrower, but the house is now much quieter and better insulatied against the coastal fog. We highly recommend both Amerimax and Golden State Windows. We know we got the best! read more

It took me 3 years to find a window replacement person for this home. This home had super large sliding doors and extra large windows and located in the City. Most vendors do not like to work in the City. The other vendors turned me down because of the size of the product or never responded back. Golden State Windows Alex came out to measure for Milgard Tuscany series. The price was reasonable, the product arrived on time from Milgrad... most of all the installation crew was terrific. We had 17 windows installed and 2 patio doors. It sucks that the windows take four weeks to be custom built. We checked around and I guess that's industry-standard. Getting estimates was difficult everyone says the complete opposite of each other.
