We bought my son's flex-on glasses from Golden optometry. It had one year manufacturer warranty. With-in six months one of the temple broke. I took it back to claim a replacement as it was still in warranty. They were not ready to take it back for warranty replacement. They kept saying that my son broke it on purpose and it is not covered under warranty. First, how can they say that my son broke it on purpose?? I asked if I can buy just the temple to which they simply said NO. How is it that one can not get a temple? They said I can buy an-other pair at discounted price. But I stuck to the point that it is under warranty and hence it makes sense for manufacturer to fix it. After some pressurizing they sent it to manufacturer, who replaced the temple ! They do have good selection. But as you can see their customer service is not good. Couple of reps speak english very well. Others are not so good at it. So talking to them over phone can become an issue. read more

My family is under the care of Dr. Wen at Golden Optometry for many years.  I have recommended her to many friends who were searching for a quality optometrist and they have been seeing Dr. Wen ever since.  Everyone has been very satisfied with the care that Dr. Wen has given; that's why I am recommending her and Golden Optometry here on Yelp.  I am an engineering professional and also mother of two boys.  My family genes has resulted in me wearing glasses for a long time, and my profession has added more pressure on eye usage. On top of all that, I also have dry-eye condition. I was frustrated with dry-eye because it is high maintenance, so naturally I wanted to try laser surgery; Dr. Wen has been monitoring and treating my conditions and she insisted that I should not do laser surgery due to my specific conditions.  I appreciate her professionalism, where she puts patient's well-being ahead of the business profit.  Because she knows I am bothered by dry-eye, whenever Dr. Wen learns of new findings or new methods, she would pass the information to me to help me better manage my eyes.  This is way above and beyond her duty!  Moreover, I have been taking my boys to see Dr. Wen regularly since their birth.  During office visits, Dr. Wen always gives us all the time and attention while doing exam, and is very patient to answer all my questions and concerns.  She never rushes us to finish appointments. I am glad to see my boys having perfect eye sight so far to enter middle school.  I certainly hope my children will have better eye sight than I do and I am glad that Dr. Wen is there to take care of them. read more

The eye doctor was okay and told me my vision is getting better and better. Probably it's because I am getting older that reverse my shortsightedness. The sales lady tried to sell me expensive glasses but I insisted to buy the brand I want. She wasn't pushy at all, probably because I wasn't well dressed at that time. Her service was pretty good and explained to me all the lens options. At the end I asked for discount and she gave me $15 off. She told me the glasses would take two week for processing. In fact, that's a bit long comparing to Lens-crafter where could finished my glasses the next day. Now, two weeks has pasted and it's still not done. I have been visiting Golden Milpitas Optometry for about 8 years now. There is no reason for me to try another store. Doctor Wen is my main eye doctor, she's been very helpful on my conditions. I feel she cares about my eyes more than I do. Ming, Kelly and other staff are as friendly as possible. Andy made a few phone calls to factory and even helped me to look for a similar frame online because my old one is discontinued. So over all, I am one happy customer. read more

Dr. Wu is the best doctor I have ever encountered. Last month, I felt something was grinding in my right eye. I visited two doctors. One found an eyelash in my eye, and gave me some medicine. But it was not cured. One week later, I visited another doctor. This guy said your eye just has some inflammation, and gave me some medicine. But the problem was still there. Two weeks later, I visited Dr. Wu. She carefully checked my right eye, and found a blister in the eyeball. She explained it may be caused by the internal toxin because my eyes are very dry and easy to produce toxin. Then she dropped some anesthetic in my eye, and scrupulously removed it. In addition, she gave me some antibiotic medicine, and told me how to use it. Also, she told me my eyes are so dry that I must use some artificial tears to moisten my eyes to keep them healthy. I obeyed her instructions. Only a few days later, my right eye restored to normal condition. I feel very happy with Dr. Wu. I strongly recommend Dr. Wu to others. read more

What a terriable place. Don't ever come 1. Make you wait forever. Our appointment was 2pm. At 2:45pm, we still weren't able to see the doctors yet. When asked why, they said the doctors were on lunch. My hubby was angry. "Then why did you make us come at 2PM'? 2. A place with scams. Not honest to customers. One of the receptionist told us for kids glasses, their poly glasses are paid by insurance. But, this old lady, Emily, insisted that we had to pay for it ourselves. I said no. Please check again. She was reluctant to check until I made her to. Of course I was right. Are they trying to double charge or what? 3. Another Scam. For my contact, this same old lady Emily, was trying to make me to for fitting. I said no. Insurance should cover it. She disagreed. I had to call for insurance myself again. Gosh, they try to charge both the costomers and the insurance company. 4. It seems they are hiding something. I very much suspect the accuracy for my son's prescribsion. Thus, I decidded to go to another doctor for second opioion. I then ask Golden Milpitas to release my son's medical record. Guess what! They refused. I was so angry. after so many incidence with them, I just hold back anymore. I shouted on the phone, "i have the right to obtain our own medical records. Can you give me one single reason what you can't release it? ". Mandy, the manager I guess, changed the tone immediately, Oh, of course, you can take it anytime. 5. Never return your phone call. When ever I asked them to check some thing, if it is doing your favor, they never call you back. You need to keep bugging them. I am just about calling them again. What a pain. i just spent two hours getting two pairs of glasses. i brought my prescription from another doctor. Sharon was the sales person who helped me, and she was very pleasant. my glasses are not ready until two weeks later, so i might have an update then on how the actual products turn out. so far i am happy with their service (specifically Sharon since she was the only person i dealt with), though i do have to say that they are a bit pricey on the frames; lenses seem to be about the same price, but here they offer so many other options - total price can be more than expected. read more

Based on some of the reviews below, I was concerned about the Customer Service (I don't speak Chinese). But I wanted to go, since they had great designer frame selection. However, I had no problems and it was better than when I've gone to English-speaking eyeframe stores. GREAT PARTS: - When I walked in, there were no other customers. - I worked with Ying, who spoke English. - I worked with Ying, who was knowledgeable about how frames should fit on a face. I have a small face. She had me try on some frames and soon figured out which brands were way too big on me. - She also gave great feedback on which ones looked stylish or just professional or not-so-nice on me. - She was extremely patient with me. We spent about 1/2 hr - 1 hr together. We started with 25 frames and narrowed it down to 3. Over the years, I've gone to many English-speaking eyeglass stores. No employee was ever able to give feedback about the glasses, like Ying did. BTW, they also take VSP Eye Insurance. I'm now in the process to narrow down from 3 to 1 glasses and decide. read more

My daughter has seen Dr. Wen when I noticed she cannot see well about 5 years ago. Dr. Wen suggested Ortho-K right away. In the beginning, her case is not complicated, other than she was having trouble wearing the lens each time and the initial process took long time. Dr. Wen was very nice and patient to my daughter and she is very knowledgable. We came to office for regular checkups and was happy to see Dr. Wen each time. We had recommended Dr. Wen to our friends whose kids have similar problems. After first three years, my daughter had developed severe dryness with her eyes due to her general allergy problems. For about a year and half, Dr. Wen tried every way she can to help her to control her problem. We had gone through many different approaches, and because of Dr. Wen's persistence, patience and knowledge, my daughter finally gets better. Every time we visit Dr. Wen, she always patiently talks to my daughter about what to do with her allergy that would help her eye condition. She's done research and taken classes on the problems and she is so happy to see any progress my daughter has. I'm so glad we have Dr. Wen to care for my daughter. I stopped by Golden Vision this past Saturday because a pair of sun glasses on displayed caught my eyes. I was greeted by Sharon Leong, who gracefully showed me a few more sun glasses I wanted to try on. She's quite knowledgable and very sweet; very willing to assist with my inquiries and any frames I wanted to see. I decided to schedule an eye examination with them since I'm long overdue for one. Today, I was seen by Dr. Teresa Wu. She examined my eyes and patiently answered all my questions and concerns. I greatly appreciate the professionalism from the staffs of Golden Vision. I will pick up my glasses within a couple of weeks. If all goes well after I pick up my glasses, this place will be our family's new location for future eye examinations. They have a great selections of glasses to choose from, location is convenient, as well as the convenient of being able to visit any day since they are open seven days a week. When I first entered the store, I was surprised because they carried many well-known brand name glasses. Sharon (Eyewear Consultant) was a big help! She showed me many different selections. I chose two frames (one sunglass, the other for computers). Unfortunately, the sunglass frame had a problem after it came back from the lab. They tried to adjust the frame, but weren't able to correct it. Sharon then talked to the store manager, Emily, who was kind enough to get me a brand new frame! Sharon is a great person to work with, always smiling when I walk in! I highly recommend working with her! Mil is an experienced technician, very patient and helpful.
