This is the best Chinese I've found since moving to Minnesota. They have a good menu with plenty of options and they're willing to accommodate most requests. They have lunch and dinner specials, which I appreciate. I love the Hunan beef, it's on the dinner special. You get friend rice, an egg roll, and a drink with it. I like to substitute it with lo mein noodles. They also have sushi, my mom likes the sushi. The only thing I didn't care for was the crab Rangoon- it was a little sweeter for my liking. The egg drop soup is also not good and I'd pass on it. I definitely recommend and the staff is so friendly. read more

We stopped and placed an order-to-go in person. Food was ready in about 20 minutes, enough time to walk the dog. When we picked up our three entrees, they were hot and generous to the point that lids barely closed. The Mongolian beef was delicious, and sweet-and-sour chicken was enough for two meals. Golden Wok feels like it should be Bronze Wok to be honest. We've ordered pick up a couple of times from here and it's always a miss. I don't think we'll be ordered again any time soon. We typically get the lunch special for about $10, you get fried rice and an entrée with each order. I was unimpressed with the fact that you don't get an egg roll or wonton with your lunch special. We've ordered from multiple other Chinese restaurants nearby and they all come with another item. My go to tends to be sesame chicken, the portion size isn't huge but enough for lunch (again, it would be more filling with an egg roll or side). My main issue is there is so much breading to chicken ratio. When you bite into the chicken 9/10 times you'll be getting breading. I assume this helps keep costs low, but it's not what I except when hoping for chicken. I think you could find a couple of things on the menu that are breading free if that bothers you but I think we'll just go elsewhere. read more

We ordered through door dash. It arrived on time and hot. I would appreciate a small description of each dish on the menu. There is no description on their website either. The taste and quality of the food wasn't the best in my opinion. The chicken was poor quality. Some of it had hard, chewy pieces that I had to spit out. The breading was soggy. The taste itself wasn't bad. We enjoyed the Szechuan chicken. The lunch combos were good deals - you get chicken and rice dish around ten bucks and it's a decent amount of food. First time ordering from this place, but I did a door dash order from here and I saw the menu. I knew I had to try it. For two people, we ordered 3 sushi rolls and a signature Dragon and Phoenix. First let me say that there was nothing special about the food that really stuck out. It's very similar to a good Chinese place anywhere and that's a good thing. I got what I wanted and it was satisfying. However, this place has some unique dishes that are really not anywhere else. The old man and the sea is a special sushi roll. I haven't seen it before anywhere. Excellent and worth every penny. Dragon and Phoenix sometimes get broccoli mixed in with the General Tso chicken but not here. Either way it's all good. The shrimp and veg side was full of Shrimp. My order was enough to get free egg rolls. Egg rolls were so good that they didn't need sauce. The food that was for the other person in my party was regarded as excellent and worth the trip. We live in the North suburbs. I was doing my gig work in the Southern suburbs. Service was very quick and fast. The ambiance was busy. I believe that I have stumbled upon a unicorn. Places like this don't exist in the north. Or if they do they don't last. I am staying at a hotel by Mall of America and ask the hotel staff if there's a good Chinese place to eat near here that delivers. I was riding my mountain bike today and I happen to fall so my ribs are hurting. I did not want to go out I was not disappointed by this restaurant, however I underestimated the size of their food. Usually in Charlottesville if you order a large egg drop soup you get a normal size bowls of soup however, I got a ginormous container of egg drop soup. The rice was the normal size of rice. This was the only thing disappointing. Cannot say I loved the flavor. The egg rolls were massive. The food is very tasty and I am not disappointing. read more

So first off. I found this by looking for a buffet. Golden Wok is not. I stepped in and could tell it was mom and pop style off the bat When I ordered the kid messed up my order. Which honestly didn't bother me. It just made me sigh. When they served me the food. It was served on paper plates. And the miso soup was served in a plastic to go cup. (Maybe for COVID reasons?) I ordered 3 different rolls. 2 of them were supposed to be spicy. None of them tasted remotely spicy. And the spicy salmon wasn't the best either. Subpar. read more

Fried rice was side order with entree so dont want to rate it. Decent enough but a little light on ingredients. Flavor was good though so I suspect the fried rice entrees are solid. The Roast Pork with Broccoli was quite good. Sauce maybe a little thick but char sui was very good. Tender and flavorful. The Moo Shu Pork was good as well. This dish is so often too salty but the balance was great here. It might be the dish we come back for. Happy Family was a little fishy and had too much imitation crab. I think id rather it was just left out. Sauce was fine but probably would steer clear in the future. The Steamed or Fried Dumpling were very typical. Fine but not excellent. The Chicken Egg Roll were the biggest disappointment. They tasted like food service. Would be surprised if they were even made in house. As a long time customer of Golden Wok, let me say their food is terrific, their portions are plentiful, and their prices are reasonable, however I have a challenge with a situation that I encountered this afternoon. I generally order for delivery, and I'm just one person, but my orders are always around $40 to $50! Typically one of the dishes I order is pork chow mein, large size. The last time I ordered they sent one small package of chow mein noodles, this time I called after I ordered, and told the lady that one package was not adequate amount for a large order of chow mein. She told me that it would be .90 for each additional package, so I asked for two extra. My comment summed up is this for the sake of $1.80 for two packs of noodles I will not be ordering from Golden Wok ever again. This was my second time eating at,the GW. I live in another state and like to eat here when I visit. My mother and I ordered the Beef & scallops with mixed vegetables and,garlic sauce. The beef was tender, veggies fresh and crisp. The garlic sauce was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, nor oily, nor spicy. There was enough to feed 4 people! Our second dish was shrimp and peapods with house brown sauce. The peas pods were perfectly cooked, the shrimp were just so-so, typical for farm raised frozen shrimp. Service is prompt and courteous. I thoroughly enjoy Golden Wok whenever I eat here. It's one of the better places that I have gotten Chinese takeout from. Generally, it seems busy whenever I've stopped in, which is a good thing. They're really quick at getting the food ready whether you dine in or order to go. I like the variety of options that they have, even though I tend to get the same thing everytime. It's not as salty as other places but that's not a problem because salt can be added easily. The food itself seems to be good quality and the vegetables have been fresh from my experience. They're consistent too, which is really nice. Definitely look to Golden Wok when you need a quick meal in this area. We've been getting their food delivered to our nearby office regularly for many years, and it's been consistently satisfying. They have an expansive menu populated almost entirely of exactly the kind of Chinese restaurant staples you'd expect. They are reasonably priced and the portion sizes are above average. In particular, they don't skimp on the meat. They are very fast and courteous. I also routinely see them contributing their food and time to charitable events in the neighborhood. You can order online for takeout or delivery; the website might look a little rudimentary but I've never had a problem with it. Minus one star just because, I don't know, nothing about their dishes has ever surprised me. This doesn't bother me in the slightest, but some Yelp readers might be looking for a bit more culinary ingenuity.
