I recently purchased a 2001 Saab convertible from out of state and the car check engine lights came on after about 100 miles of driving. The car has very low mileage for a 2001, 48K in total. In any case, Leo and his crew figured out the booster valves were in trouble so I ordered the parts according to their recommendation and then I had them installed. The warning light came up again after the repair and so I brought it back to Leo. I was not really upset as I know it is an older car. Leo saw another code which is indicating the vacuum hoses could be the problem. The rubber hoses certainly looked liked it had their better days. In any case, he changed the vacuum hoses and car seems to be running fine now. Their price is very reasonable. I appreciate the patience and honesty of this shop as they are just good mechanics trying to do the right things for their customers. I think I have found a very nice shop for my auto needs. He remedied the battery swap that AutoZone did - they hadn't reset the security system per protocol and had I been in a VW I would have needed to be towed to the Gilden Wrench. Alex gave my entire car a checkup as I've been contemplating either fixing up the car or selling it. He assessed the car on the spot in great detail and helped me decide I would be better off selling the car than investing in it. He could have easily told me otherwise and made some rent money but he is a stand up fellow with integrity. So, I left the shop with a full assessment, well-running car, and the tools to search for my new wheels. The battery in my Audi A6 Turbo died and, as Audi service reminded me, I had to replace the battery and have the computer system reprogrammed at the same time. The dealer couldn't fit me in for an appt. so I called Golden Wrench which a friend had recommended. Luis told me to come in same day. He replaced the battery, reprogrammed the computer and changed my oil while I waited... at half the price the Audi service dept. quoted. Luis services all kinds of imported cars from Audis and BMWs to Porsches and Mercedes. I was scheduled for an alignment today. His machine was broken which is understandable. What was bad was that he never called me to let me know. That'a just business 101. The problem is he's the only guy in the Naples area that can align a Porsche. Ok, the only one that can do it properly. Then again he never got the pull on my 911 corrected. Oh well.
