He explains your film findings and treatment options in simple terms for sound and lasting results.  Having TMJ, Dr. Fred examined my bite with articulating paper using the same methods as my Oral, Head and Neck Pathologist several counties away. I could not find a local practitioner skilled in these techniques. Dr. Fred took time fixing my bite to prevent further fractures without my feeling like a nuisance or rushed. Dr. Fred's digitizer results in crowns with a superior fit compared to standard impressions. When outside referral was necessary to other specialities, Dr. Fred personally ensured I received treatment soon and his entrusted network is equally advanced in training, technology and conscientiousness. All were in-network with my insurance which is uncommon. His welcoming other specialties' opinions further increased my trust. After my dentist retired, we had a little global pandemic, and then things got busy and ... in 2026 I brought them a mouth some California dentists wouldn't touch without hundreds of dollars in X-ray and lab fees up front. Then wouldn't touch. ​ In two days of care, they replaced a complex crown, did four quadrants of deep cleaning, and filled an embarrassing number of cavities. I paid about two and a half Gs for what I was quoted elsewhere for between $6K and $10K. This is dental work under local anesthesia, so some pain from numbing is expected. They have a deal with a chain hotel in easy walking distance that has an included breakfast with soft foods and a UV water dispenser on every floor. From my initial contact on WhatsApp, to their offer to Uber me to the office, to patient intake and detailed assessment including head CTs (!), 3D modeling (!!!), photography of teeth and individual tooth x-rays, and the competence of the clinical team... I don't believe this level of dental care is available in Estados Unidos. If I have a friend who needs dental care, I will cheerfully refer them here. Note: WhatsApp and Uber are essential tools in Tijuana.​

So many newer dental…read moreoffices act like plastic surgeons, insisting on services my insurance will not cover but are somehow necessary. This is upselling and it's an incredible annoying cheap ploy for a dentist to compensate what insurance does not cover. The office of Dean Nguyen isn't like that - they're old school. They make sure my teeth are healthy, thoroughly examined, and properly cleaned. No added b.s. that I never asked for. All the staff here are great to work with. Diana was my hygienist recently, and she clearly enjoys her job and working with patients. As so many others here have stated, I highly recommend and endorse this dental office.

This is a long review so I apoligize in advance. I first went to Dr Pitts in 2023. He performed 3…read morecrowns and a bone graft on a front tooth. I had no issues with the teeth prior to the procedures. After getting the 3 crowns I now needed 3 root canals. After 18 months one of the root canals abscessed and I had to have it redone. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the root canals however my insurance was still charged. I am currently still having issues with that tooth almost 3 years later. As for the bone graft - that failed as well causing an abscess. I now had to get my front tooth extracted and get an implant which is very expensive and time consuming. I do not normally post but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this experience. Dr Pitts has caused great harm to my dental health and in my opinion is a questionable dental practitioner. I will be reporting him to the state dental board.
