I found my new forever dentist, Dr. Mike Payor! I had a busted crown that was causing me pain and Dr. Mike had a consultation with me and explained my issue in great detail with pictures and even a demonstration. Dr. Mike was very professional and explained everything to me while the procedure was underway calming my severe dental anxiety. I felt absolutely nothing and was very impressed since I am "stubborn" to get numb according to other dentists. My new crown fit perfectly and was the smoothest crown appointment I've ever had! Aside from my epic crown and cleaning, the office was able to work with my horrible janky insurance and help me get my tooth repaired at a killer deal. I switched dental practices a little over a year ago as the place I went to seemed to have a revolving door of dentists that rarely stayed longer than a year. Terribly unprofessional dentist. I went in for a check up and cleaning into established with a new practice. He then started asking personal questions that I told him that I preferred not to answer as I was there simply for dental services. He then said that this would not work out and that I had to leave. I guess I'm supposed to give my life history to a complete stranger in order to get services. Stay away from these people. read more

I made the right decision switching to Plaza Dentistry. Their office is organized, all paperwork went smoothly, and Mercedes was able to handle the transfer with no issues. I can't say that happens every time so A+ for things being squared away up front. Arjay took my initial Xrays. They were not only the quickest I've ever had ( for an initial visit ) but the most comprehensive. I shattered a tooth and called and asked for an emergency appointment. They had me drive in only to tell me they don't accept my insurance and there is nothing they can do. They couldn't help me find any other dentist that might help. They didn't ask about any payment plans or assistance. The didn't look at the tooth. They just sent me on my way in pain. Since today is July 3rd, I have to wait 4 days to be seen by another dentist. read more

Called the office and spoke with Faith, the office manager, about a crown done by the dentist there prior to this practice being purchased that just popped out after 2 years. Crowns should last at least 5. One of the most condescending conversations I've ever had. I actually called back and told her this, only to have the condescension continue, and she had no interest in considering my complaint...I consider a negative Yelp review a last resort. If you are the dentist at this practice reading this, here are few suggestions for Faith: Don't make me drive 30 miles just to tell me if you will "consider" a credit on this work. Don't say "I know as the patient you may believe the crown shouldn't have come out but that may not be true." When I call back to tell you I think your tone is condescending, don't say "I'm sorry you feel that way" in the same condescending tone that prompted the complaint. read more

I had been procrastinating finding a new dentist after a recent move and popped out an onlay that had just been placed 2 years ago while flossing. I called the first dentist on my provider list the next morning and cannot believe how lucky of a decision that was. The office got me in same day to check it out. The tooth unsurprisingly needed a root canal and Dr. Payor managed to squeeze it into the appointment which I was so grateful for since having half of a tooth is not exactly comfortable. Dr. Payor is definitely the best dentist I have been to in San Diego. My previous experience with dentists always ended with damaged gums due to improper and careless attention to detail. Dr. Payor makes sure to be very diligent and thorough in his work and makes sure the patient understands exactly what he is doing as he's working on the teeth. I got my silver amalgam replaced with the composite fillings by Dr. Payor and he was to explain every step of the way so that I could understand what he's doing and how I should move forward with protecting my teeth.
