A rewind of the classic Goldie's Patio Grill experience. After dining at the failing Goldie's on S. Lewis a few years ago I had given up completely the hope of ever having a delicious Goldie's charbroiled burger experience again. Bad food combined with the miserable service at that S. Lewis location, delivered the restaurant to an appropriate ending; closed. Yelp ratings of the remaining Goldie's in the Tulsa area were in the tank, with 2.5 -3-star ratings. It's over, Goldie's was history to me. While doing a restaurant search, Goldie's in Pryor Creek popped up with a 4-star rating. The locals in Pryor like it. That rating may be indicative of better management and possibly less competition than the failing Tulsa stores. It gave me hope. The Goldie's sign in Pryor is nothing but a vacant ring of steel on a pole. Likely a causality of an Oklahoma storm that swept the plastic emblem and lighting into another county. You have to know where Goldie's is located or you will drive right by the industrial looking metal building. There is a sign on the south side of the building that might be visible if you are north bound. We found it a 2:30, still filled with about a dozen diners. They were out in the next few minutes giving the staff a short break to clean tables and sweep. And soon after that, the next shift of diners rolled in. As you would expect the restaurant wears the small-town diner interior, well-worn from the local workers that frequent the place. We parked in a comfortable booth. Immediate service, greeting us, delivering menus and taking beverage orders. The friendly waitress, back in a flash with drinks, then taking our order of two classic meals; GOLDIE'S SPECIAL WITH CHEESE [no mayo!] and the CHILI CHEESE BURGER, served open faced, covered with Chili and American Cheese, add chopped onions. Fries on the side for both. Before leaving the waitress emphasized the "help yourself Pickle Bar." We did. A bowl full was emptied before the meals arrived. My wife's burger was perfect. It delivered memories of the many meals that we have had in Tulsa during Goldie's prime. On my plate, the same perfectly cooked charbroiled beef patty, holding down an opened burger bun, then crowned with perfect, thick, hardy, delicious Texas style chili! It delivered bite after bite of pleasant memories. The coated crispy fries were a much better, modern version of the plain cut potatoes served eons ago. Having attended ORU and lived in Tulsa for many years, Goldie's was always a go-to spot. But our last visit to the Tulsa Goldie's (a few years ago) left us disappointed. Nevertheless, as we were traveling back to Texas and were getting ready to find a place to eat lunch, we saw that there was a Goldie's in Pryor and decided to give it a try. And I'm glad we did! The original Goldie's hamburger continues to be absolutely wonderful! And the cole slaw was very good, as were the onion rings. And the pickle bar is great! The service was efficient. The facilities don't look the greatest, but the meal was excellent. We will definitely keep the Pryor Goldie's in mind the next time we are passing through. read more

The Country Dinner is very tasty - two beef patties with cheddar cheese in the Center covered in Country gravy. Dang Good! Traveling between Stilwell, KS and Dallas on a Saturday, we hit Pryor, OK about lunch time. Saw Goldie's and decided to stretch our legs and grab some lunch at a "local" place rather than a chain joint. We're glad we did! Goldie's isn't a super-fancy place, it's simply and tastefully decorated, and most importantly a clean place. Staff was friendly - as other reviewers had noted - most seemed to be younger kids in a first summer job - which is great to see kids working these days. Our server did a good job, she was prompt, courteous and cheerful. We had burgers, chicken and salads. Food was served promptly, hot things hot, cold things cold - and prepared as it should be. Everything tasted great. Kudos to the kitchen - nice job. The pickle bar is a novelty that we had fun with - not something you run across every day, but hey - every place needs to be world-famous for something - why not a pickle-bar? Talked a bit with Tim, one of the owners - a nice guy who's working hard to have a successful business that serves good food - in our opinion he's doing a good job of it ... we will stop in for a bite next time we're through Pryor. If you ever find yourself in Pryor . . . this place is a good spot to grab a bite. The pickle bar was hilarious . . . at first, but I once I tried a few of the delicacies I ended up with more vinegar running through my veins than actual blood. I love pickles. Anyways, this place would top the chats if the decor was better, but it's hard to blame a small town place for not shelling out tons of cash on "atmosphere". The service was fine . . . But the highlight, the HIGHLIGHT of my meal was the Angel fire chicken sandwich I ordered. I eat and cook a lot of chicken and this was literally the best cooked chicken breast I've ever had! It was so tender and juicy - well flavored . . . Just great! Not to mention the green pepper on my burger was grilled and had a nice smokey flavor. My family and I stopped by on our way through Pryor. We always enjoyed eating at the Goldies in Claremore, but over the years it's changed hands and has not been that good. Some of our friends suggested this one. I ordered beef stew, I got Cambell's beef soup! Canned soup?! The kids plates were thrown together and the presentation was sloppy. The restaurant is also dank and dirty, trust your eyes before your stomach pays! No one ate, my husband paid, the only thing they took off was the canned soup. We found this wonderful place through Yelp. When we first saw it, the parking lot was full! We went a little later to avoid the crowd. The place is authentically local! They have amazing burgers, hamburger steak dinners and chicken dinners!!! The fries are wonderfully crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was very fast and efficient. I'll be honest I've had burgers from all across Med the US and this place is still one one my top favorites. The burgers are so juicy and fresh and the french fries are great too. They also have a small pickle bar to tide you over as you wait for your food. If you are looking for a burger place and you are in the area. Nothing compares to Goldies so good. Actually going to eat it twice in one weeks so I can enjoy it one last time before hitting the road. read more

We are locals who eat occasionally at Goldie's in Pryor. Last evening we went in about 6:15. Several people were there but definitely not busy. We both ordered grilled chicken breast dinners with salads. Hubby had baked potato and I had mashed potatoes. Both entrees were blackened/charred and both potatoes were cold. Our waitress came back to check on us about halfway through the meal. We told her the chicken was burnt. She looked surprised, said I'm sorry and walked off. We didn't see her again until she dropped off the check. Used to be a good place to eat but anymore staff doesn't clean much, service is not great and quality of food has gone down as well. No longer open on Sunday's because they have fewer customers. read more

Great food last of the really great Goldie's the owner is there most of the time and watches what's going on. Great pickle bar I love the sweet pickles eat all you want. This place has great charbroiled burgers it's my go to place for char burgers. Thanks to the owner I eat there every week. Brad forgot to post this but ate another great charbroiled hamburger there last week that the owner Steve cooked just one of the best burgers I've ever had. Thanks Steve keep up the great food. You can get a better sandwich from a gas station, where even though the rest rooms might need to be cleaned they would be far better than the rest rooms at Goldies. Stopped on the way back to Texas after visiting family over thanksgiving. This was fast, hot, good and inexpensive. Fancy? No. Sophisticated? No. But get out of the car in a road trip and stretch your legs. Good food for a good price. read more

My husband and I stopped by here for an early Sunday dinner. We had the poppers for an appetizer and they were good, but nothing special. The pickle bar, on the other hand, made the whole trip worth it. The bread and butter pickles were amazing. We had 3 small bowls full between us. My husband had the sirloin. Not only was it surprisingly juicy and tender, but the portion was more than enough. The sides were just average. I had the grilled chicken salad which was good as well, nothing to write home about. Another star of the night was the ranch dressing. It tastes homemade and beckoned for all things to be dipped into it. The service was also good. We will definitely go back the next time we're in the area and I'll remember to get the sirloin myself. read more

This would be no stars if I could. We ordered food to go and it was the worst service and food we have had. I ordered a baked potato with my meal only to find out I would have to wait an additional half hour for it. The breading on the sandwiches was burnt. We get home only to find out that they forgot the fries with the other dinner that was ordered. Only good thing was they refunded the money for the first order that was messed up. BUT everything else was absolutely horrible. I was hoping to not have to cook but ended up coming home having to cook dinner after all the hassle and wasted time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone since this was not our first bad experience there. It wasn't just us that had a bad experience this night either. There was am older couple sitting down that had their order messed up too. Plus the waitresses were bad mouthing the couple to other guests with them sitting right there. The wait staff needs to be disciplined and either retrained on how to deal with customers or new staff. I will not go back there and will be sure to inform everyone I know what a horrible place this is. read more
