This is a nice neighborhood restaurant located on the east side of Indianapolis not far from Spades Park. It has that friendly local vibe to it. They have a special of the day along with other food options on their menu. Service was helpful and friendly and the patty melt was delicious!! Try the sweet potato fries with ranch. Two thumbs up warm and crispy. Yum!! The wraps looked good as well. Well, lots of other things looked good on the menu. I only saw the wraps and will have to try one of those! I can see why people were coming in getting carry out. Nice spot with great food. They have a lot of picnic tables outside too!!

This is such an underrated gem. Mayfair Taproom has a cozy, homey vibe. You can stop in to grab a hearty dinner or some good beer. I've been here in the summer as well and I will always recommend utilizing their awesome patio. I love the VHS tapes across the walls and even peeped a Twin Peaks box set as decoration. Overall a good vibe with good people and good food

Have driven my this place several times and finally made the choice to have a girls night dinner. There is plenty of street parking around and it's free which is a bonus. You order and pay at the bar. There isn't a huge menu but you can find something to eat without issue for sure. We sat outside and ate since it was nice out. The patio is very nice. They are kid friendly outside not sure about in the inside. Also dog friendly which is nice. The food overall was fine. Nothing overly exciting but not terrible just fine. The bartender was also just fine, he wasn't overly friendly but also didn't make us feel overly welcomed, however, the other patrons there were very friendly and we had some great conversations with the other guests.

Cool spot to hangout, they play older movies via VHS so it's a whole early 90s vibe. Bar food menu looked decent so will have to try the food next time!

We happen to come by during trivia on Sunday! They have a nice patio with dog bowls and high chairs. Street parking. Seating on patio but order at the bar. There is seating inside too. Food was delish! Vegan options. We got the (vegan) gravy and chips, Thai chili cauliflower wings, and breaded chicken bites with honey mustard. The staff was friendly and laidback. Def a neighborhood and family vibe.

This is such a fun bar/restaurant! The atmosphere is a local pub/dive bar with a VHS decor spin. Right up my alley. Their menu is very much traditional bar foods but a ton of vegetarian and vegan options! Which is sooooo refreshing to see. I am always open to trying vegetarian options so I can also learn what I could make at home. I think they are known for their vegan gravy, they sell it in pints! We tried it and it was really good. I enjoyed that they do not have table service, BUT they do have a dedicated spot on the bar for table patrons to place food and drink orders. Their soda on tap is from a local Irvington soda pop company which is also amazing. We love local supporting local!

We had a fun time and great food at Mayfair. We stopped in for an early dinner and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by one of the nice bartenders as soon as we sat down. She got us waters, and the other bartender poured our beers. They came and took our order and our food came real quick! It's a cool spot with awesome tile on the floor and a big bar. They also have tables and booths for under 21 guests. In the back there is a great patio with plenty of tables, umbrellas, and shade! We can't wait to go back!

We had been out and about on the east side of Indy last night and were just looking for a place that was open. The first two places were closed, and when we resolved to just head back home we happened upon Mayfair. Parking was very easy at that time and when I stepped out of the car and I was just taken with all the lovely old homes that flanked the exterior of Mayfair. We went inside the very clean and subtly decorated dining and bar area. Most patrons, ( ok all of them) were younger than us, quite possibly locals, were on the other side of the wall that divided the dining room from the bar. So we ventured over and joined those in the bar area and got a two topper. We were greeted almost immediately by a very friendly bartender who handed us menus. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine while we glanced over the menu. Honestly, we weren't expecting much at that time of night but we ordered the fish and chips to share. It arrived within minutes. It was two small pieces with fries. We were slightly disappointed but not enough to not eat. WOW!!! It was perfectly cooked deliciousness! My husband and I scarfed that crunchy fish with that delicate, moist interior. It left us wanting more!! I will never share with my husband the next time. Now, if that was some box fish ordered from from some Costcoish establishment--well, it was damn good. I'm a bit jealous of those folks who get to have that pub within walking distance. We are already talking about making another trip to try other items on their menu. Go to Mayfair! Worth a trip!

The very eclectic combo of European, vintage, Yule, western, and probably about four other vibes smashed together for a rather fun and basic bar. No waiters, order at the bar and card is held, fantastic tap list, I sampled quite a bit and enjoyed the craft variety. Found two glorious brews at opposite ends, a sparkly sour and a bitter nitro right for my dinner and trivia. Amazing pineapple tart and glorious Old Rasputin nitro imperial stout, both too right. Trivia was random and awful, way too niche and difficult while also trying to be fun and friendly. I suppose the rotating hosts give that spectrum but I'd rather know what it'll be like over a clueless mash of impossible questions on limited topics. Food was a win! Most well priced, my burger was tasty though simple. Some additional pickled something would reach the extra mile. Chicken poppers were way too easy to eat. I could see myself dropping in again on a whim especially with my Indy favorite Rabble Coffee nextdoor!

Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

One of my favorite memories from The District Tap actually started with a shirt…read more We were sitting on the patio overlooking Georgia Street on a Fever game day when a couple walked by wearing one of the coolest Caitlin Clark shirts we'd ever seen. We complimented it, asked where they found it, and before we knew it, we were chatting with a wonderful couple who had traveled all the way from overseas just to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever play that night. Moments like that are one of the reasons I love Indianapolis on game days. The patio was the perfect place to soak it all in. Fever fans filled the sidewalks, kids proudly carried homemade signs, and there was an excitement in the air that only comes from a city rallying behind its team. We could have people-watched for hours. Our waitress was exactly what every server should strive to be. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun to talk to, she somehow mastered the art of appearing right before we found ourselves looking around for her. We never felt rushed, but we also never waited for anything. The food held up its end of the bargain too. The fried mozzarella disappeared embarrassingly fast and earned a solid 9.3 on my unofficial stretch meter. Crispy on the outside, perfectly gooey inside, with a marinara sauce that was every bit as good as the cheese itself. The chef salad was fresh, generously loaded with toppings, and easily big enough for a meal. I honestly couldn't tell you what beer I ordered... Because what I remember most is the experience. Sharing appetizers on a sunny patio, meeting fellow basketball fans from halfway around the world, and watching Indianapolis come alive before tipoff. It reminded me that sports have a funny way of turning complete strangers into friends. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're headed to Gainbridge.

Our server was friendly and responsive to one member of our group (male) but repeatedly didn't acknowledge another (female). This wasn't a one-time thing, it happened several times over the course of our visit, and it came across as dismissive. As for the drinks: beer prices were nice and cheap, but the margarita was on the expensive side and not really worth it. The place seems geared toward bigger dinner crowds, which may be why a two-person drinks-only table didn't get much attention, but being essentially ignored isn't a great look either way. We wouldn't return. 2/5.

From the moment you walk in, you start looking around instead of at the menu. One wall is covered in hundreds of stickers that somehow work together perfectly, there's a colorful mural that's impossible not to notice, and the whole place has that "this has been someone's favorite spot for years" kind of energy. Then the pizza showed up... We ordered the Spicy Mexican, and I don't know who first decided sour cream belonged on pizza, but they deserve a raise. Chorizo, fresh jalapeños, red onion, cilantro, mozzarella, and that cool drizzle of sour cream somehow all work together without one ingredient stealing the show. Every bite had a little heat, a little freshness, and a whole lot of flavor. Flavor Bomb Meter: The crust had just enough chew with a perfectly crisp bottom, and the toppings weren't shy. No sad, sparsely dressed pizza here. Topping-to-Crust Ratio: 10/10. I also appreciate restaurants that have personality without trying too hard. Pearl Street feels authentic. Plus, they had a few vegan choices for me (highly caloric, not super healthy, but still, they had more than one choice, and vegan offerings that weren't salads). They even had three tasty mocktails and some alcohol-free beers (since I don't do booze anymore either)! The veggie burger came with a squishy bean patty, with peas in it -- not my fave texture or flavor but tolerable -- and a tahini sauce... but they barely put any sauce on it. A gourmet, no-high-fructose-corn-syrup ketchup or tomato jam might have been better, or at least more of the tahini. It did come with a nice pile o' crunchy pickles (love) and a lovely green salad with balsamic dressing (way too many carrots). Service was fast and friendly. Ambience is upscale bar, with fun and interesting murals on the walls -- they had a terrific music playlist going, and the Hubbins and I ended up kind of dancing in place without realizing it. Public parking lot directly across the street meant we didn't get soaked by the rainstorm, and didn't have to drive around forever dealing with construction, looking for a parking spot. A nice, easy option for dinner with the fam without having to work/think too hard about it -- something to suit all of our varied diets.
