Golds gym is always a good spot to hit the weights. However there is a right time if you're trying to get in and out and short on time. From my personal experience after 3pm -9pm is the most packed times for this location. Before 1pm you should be good considering everyone is at school / work & those that are going after 9pm should be set as well because people do wake up early in the mornings so they have to sleep early. So the gym should be good at that time as well. As far as equipment goes they constantly keep up with broken down equipment it never really stays out of order for more than a few days if the machine is out of order or up for maintenance. This gym is really quick about turn around time for stuff like that compared to other gyms that let their members suffer by not repairing equipment fast enough. Only down side I would say to this gym is not enough 45lb plates. It's a pain to have to search for the plates but other than that the dumbbells go up to 150lbs which is great considering most commercial gyms cap out at 100lbs. The sauna is great too and not tiny so don't worry about having to be super close to someone in there. The gym stays clean and I will continue to come here. The biggest con to going here are the paper towel dispensers. About ~85-90% of the time, they do not work. A very big concern when it comes to equipment sanitation bc patrons are NOT able to sanitize the equipment prior and after to usage. They have amazing aerobics instructors but their app registration to get in the class is BS. They have bouncers at the door and stanchions like they are a night club checking if you are "on the list" . Out of the 500 machines they have, only 1 machine for quads that works (for the last 3 months. There is always a line. The Place is packed and vibin' most of the time but if you are trying to get a real workout make sure to give yourself time to wait or have a bunch of alternatives. On top of that, it's way too crowded--there are far more people than machines, so you're stuck waiting forever and when you finally get a machine, they're stained with sweat because no one cleans them or wipes them down.. The marketing team clearly does their job well because this gym is always packed. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a quick or efficient workout, that's tough to manage here. For a newer gym, it doesn't feel very well maintained -- dumbbells and equipment are scattered everywhere, even in the "escape room" area I paid extra for. The squat rack in there didn't have plates, and the overall organization was lacking. Staff really need to stay on top of keeping things in order. Overall, I'd give this gym a 2 out of 5. There are times when the gym is over crowded. After 5pm on the weekdays the crowd is younger and a lot of posturing. I typically go early morning between 5am and 6am and I'm out by 8am. Slows down after 7am. They do a fairly good job of fixing equipment quickly. Sauna works great. The equipment I use is usually always available. Short wait. Not everyone wipes down equipment. Occasionally the disinfectant or the paper towels is out. I carry wipes just in case. read more

I've been a member here for a while, and unfortunately, the facility has really gone downhill. A lot of the equipment is outdated and even rusty in some areas, which makes it feel unsafe and poorly maintained. The gym isn't kept up well in terms of cleanliness either -- floors, machines, and locker rooms often look like they haven't been cleaned properly. Another big issue is the lack of cardio machines. During peak hours, it's almost impossible to find an available treadmill, elliptical, or bike. For a gym with this name and price point, I expected much better upkeep and investment in equipment. On several occasions, the screen in the cycling studio was off during scheduled virtual classes, preventing me and other members from working out. Each time I asked Ricky for assistance, he responded promptly and positively, and quickly got the virtual class on for us. He was consistently polite, professional, and displayed a positive attitude. Ricky's responsiveness, helpfulness, problem-solving skills, and friendly demeanor greatly improved my experience at Gold's Gym Cerritos. Finally made my way back to the gym and extremely disappointed. 1) limited parking. When there is no parking, you can spot at least 5 cars with the person with lights just sitting there apparently texting. 2) gym etiquette: the norm is several texting on machine while NOT EXERCISING. Also, they leave the machine with backpack near it to HOLD THE MACHINE. They can be gone a long time. The worst is they just sit on machine LOUNGING. 3) unsympathetic employee at desk. Spoke with new manager Fernando who constantly interrupted me. Essentially called me a liar, told me there was 11,000 members there and people make up stories all the time. I stumbled upon this gym as it was getting ready to officially open! The team seemed super super friendly and helpful! Being new to Southern California I am excited to get to know the area and so excited that this gym has opened up only a few miles from my house! This gym is a huge club and has literally everything you could need in a gym! There's got to be at least a dozen platforms with a wide variety of bumper plates, and two of every machine between the brands, Cybex and hammer strength. I highly recommend checking this gym out as it is definitely the best gold I have been to in the world so far!!!!! read more

Terrible gym, I went today and the AC was completely broken. It seems like there is always something broken at this location. The girls in the front seem more interested in socializing with other people than actually doing their jobs. I heard from a friend that one of the girls there gave away someone else's keys to some random person at the gym. Also the third hip thrust has been broken for almost two months now. I've tried to refrain from leaving this review as I thought that perhaps the issues I was experiencing would eventually rectify itself, but to my dismay, that has not been the case at all. I've been a member here for about 2-3 years now. I go almost every morning M-F like clockwork and the cleanliness of this gym has gone down astronomically. The AM staff are the usual folks, friendly, attentive, and as helpful as can be considering they probably rolled out of bed just a few minutes prior but my biggest (and probably only gripe) is just the overall cleanliness. The dumbbells are almost nowhere to be found, the outdoor room is always a mess with dumbbells everywhere, the mirrors are disgusting with saliva and sweat stains literally everywhere, etc. I'm really not expecting this place to be pristine, but it seems as if the night shift just completely disregards the re-racking of weights, cleaning, and restocking of paper towels within the gym. It's a shame because I already know of several folks that have switched gyms because of this reason. If I were the owner of this company, I'd seriously be questioning the staffs competence in fulfilling their basic job descriptions as all I see is lost money. read more

I got a membership in the Fullerton gym and got the plat membership. I wanted to use the escape room at Cerritos just to see how it is and it's so damn packed. People don't close the door and they just let their group of 6 friends go in to train in there. If you try to use the machines on the main floor, there are literally 4-6 machines with bags next to them and no one actually using the machines. If you try to take the machine, then the influencer looking gym goer will walk all the way across the gym and say he/she was using that and then they just go back to socializing with every single person in the gym. I just don't understand... The one in Fullerton is filled with high schoolers, but they have way better gym etiquette than the ones here. read more
