This review is only based on the interaction with Phoenix, the Member Experience Manager. I went with my dad to help him get his membership setup, because on Friday they wouldn't let him in due to not being in the system and having to log on to the app. Also, on Friday they weren't helpful in assisting him at all and he's older. Went in today, Sunday June 7th to figure out what was going on. That's when Phoenix assisted us. He helped my dad walk through the process and made sure his card was working. He also had the patience to walk us through getting the app set up on my dad's phone. I could see why he's a Member Experience Manager, he definitely helps the people. I joined this location back in Nov '22 when they were having their "presale" launch with their opening back in Dec '22 when it was Gold's. The gym is beautiful and big and grew with members over time so most of the GX classes get full quickly. The parking lot is the most challenging part of the place as it shares with a small strip mall on one side and you have to pay attention to the parking sign or else you might get towed. The EOS acquisition didn't do much to the aesthetics other than changing a few color schemes, otherwise, it is the same (which is not a bad thing). I go here from time to time (mainly on weekends) as it is a 13 mile drive (one way) from home but I do enjoy the variety of classes here. read more

Zero stars if I could. Sauna (women's) is down still - May 30. Was down from at least April 24 to May 22. Looks like it's mostly down than working. I asked the front desk gal ETA yesterday. She went to ask her manager - a not in shape gal - who was busy to write something on the white board. She didn't stop, acknowledge her employee or at least briefly look at her when she was asking. This nonverbal shouts volume of her skill and care, actually lack of interest in the job she was hired to do. Huge disappointment to see this interaction been EOS management and employees. Walked into what's supposedly an EoS, but it's giving strong "Gold's Gym wearing a fake mustache" energy. Sure, parking was chill and it wasn't packed, and shoutout to Phoenix at the front for actually being a decent human and being so helpful and friendly. But let's not ignore the elephant lifting weights in the room.... this place is rocking older machines and somehow skipped all the fun recovery perks: NO massage chairs (well there's the old Gold's hydro massage chair thing but didn't get to try) NO cryolounge NO compression boots Not even a sad attempt at one of them. If you're gonna rebrand, at least commit to the glow-up, man!!!! Also, gym etiquette? Missing!!!! Not the gym's fault, but some folks out here treating machines like petri dishes!!! Disgusting!!! As someone w a strong microbiology background... yeah, you don't wanna know!!! Might be a Gold's culture but there aren't a lot of wipes & spray stations (1 was actually broken, interesting) they're spaced far apart (you know, to get those extra steps in)... but maybe if they had more of these stations available it would motivate the members to wipe down after use. Sauna was broken (what the cardio fudge) and typically this would've been a deal breaker but because I had to catch up for missed days, I stayed to get more time in. Restrooms!?!?!?!? Let's just say they were going through something.... no toilet paper, questionable cleanliness, emotional damage!!! End result: Solid 5 hour workout with sub-par machines, zero recovery, broken sauna, no toilet paper in restrooms, and a lingering feeling that this gym is still in its Gold's Gym identity crisis era. I would give this place a one star. Staff members are the front desk are young, inexperienced, rude, and clueless. As a former marketing director I would say this place gets a below average rating for ambience and customer service. The gym has gone downhill after EOS fitness took over. I had referred two people to the gym but will no longer be sending anymore people. The showers are dingy. The sauna is broken a lot. The restrooms are filthy. The gym machine floor is always packed. I joined EōS Fitness Cerritos and paid for the personal training, but multiple sessions were no-showed by the trainers and I never received the service I paid for. I called and emailed them multiple times, NO RESPONSE. If you are trying to get a personal training this place is the LAST place to go. Lack of professionalism, communication, and just full of irresponsibility. Emailed EOS fitness, no response. I don't know if they ever read emails or what. I reached out to Raul, he said I called and texted to cancel the training. I never did, and that is why I showed up to the gym. Now he is lying about the things I never did. It looks like this gym just scam people who are genuinely trying to workout, so if you are thinking about signing up for the membership as well as the personal training, just go find a different gym. Now it's an overcharging, broken equipment gym and they still charge golds prices and only stay open til 7 on weekends... there is never any cleaning supplies, they don't enforce people not loitering in giant annoying groups or influencers filming right in front of you... the locker room always smells and it out of toilet paper.. not worth it honestly. read more

DO NOT GET PERSONAL TRAINING HERE. Go somewhere where people are actually passionate about health, wellness, and providing quality service to their community because you won't find that here. Quick to charge you but when it comes to refunding you money for a "mistake" they made, you will get the run around. (I have yet to see the $200 that I was told was being processed since 1/31!) Managers are not helpful, prolong addressing issues, and neglect viable concerns. Save yourself the headache. Fitness manage Raul will no show and take no accountability. Manager Tahlia will say she exhausted all her efforts to get you your refund then never follow up with results. And general manager Ed could careless about helping and scurry away when you attempt to have an in person conversation about the issue. Long story short, this box gym entity is not the place to entrust with your fitness journey or additional investments of time and money. Been going here since Golds opened, and honestly it feels really similar to Gold's overall. Same kind of setup and vibe. I am glad they kept the LES MILLS classes and instructors! Shoutout to Annette Padilla, the BEST cycle instructor. If you ever want to try cycle, take her class!!! ‍ She's motivating, inspiring, hilarious, and really knows what she's doing. Disappointed with the customer and membership services. Through the online portal, I wanted to amend my membership tier and payment method. The portal is outdated and not intuitive. So, I spoke with representative via phone and they were unable to help with my request. Insisted that I would have to go in-person to complete my request. I had Gold's Gym for about 2 years, so sad EOS took over. When it was owned by Golds the vibe was peaceful and everything was running smoothly. It was sweet to see a lot elderly people working out. members seem to take care of the gym. When this location was Gold's Gym, it felt exclusive and intentional. The higher membership cost made sense because it came with: A more serious, focused training environment Generally higher-caliber members who respected the space Great hip music that matched the gym culture An overall sense of quality, pride, and identity tied to the Gold's brand It wasn't just "a gym" - it was Gold's. That name had meaning, history, and standards behind it. Since the switch to EOS, the entire atmosphere has changed, and not for the better: There's more crowding, more kids and casual traffic, and a lot less respect for the space. The environment feels louder, less focused, and less intentional. Equipment seems to be breaking down more often, and overall maintenance/quality doesn't feel at the level it once was. On top of that, original Gold's members have taken a clear loss: Our prices did not go down, even though the brand and experience downgraded. We lost the benefit of going to the Venice "Mecca" location 14 times a year, which was a major selling point for many of us. We originally signed up and paid a premium for Gold's Gym - a brand with a strong legacy in bodybuilding, fitness culture, and standards. We did not sign up for a generic, budget-style gym experience. The whole transition feels like a money grab, where the company benefits from the Gold's legacy and pricing, but delivers a completely different, lower-tier product under EOS. As original Gold's members, we've essentially been stripped of the brand, the benefits, and the atmosphere we paid for, without any real compensation, price adjustment, or meaningful acknowledgment. In short: We didn't pay to be members of just any regular gym. We paid for Gold's - for the brand, the culture, the quality, and the access that came with it. Since the switch to EOS. The bathroom has more graffiti in the stalls than it does have toilet paper. Completely un-kept. More times everyone trying to use the stalls have to scrounge around for a roll of toilet paper. The new wave of EOS patrons are very rude and no regards for proper use of equipment, proper returning of weights and courtesy to wipe off equipment after use. I had been trying to cancel my son's membership for almost a month now since his unused fitness training has still not been activated. According to the site, they can not cancel his membership there. I had to call a number. On calling, the person who answered said he could not cancel it since the site/ office has to say that it's already inactive. I had been doing the back and forth thing. Easy to join but can not cancel. NEVER JOIN. If there something lower than 1, I would give it. So disgusted. read more

I left EOS for a reason, but it seems to be like that toxic ex that won't leave you alone. The reason why I left EOS in the first place was due to instructors being flaky and canceling last minute with no notice. I remember waiting for class to start only for the manager to show up 15min into the class time to say hey, class is canceled. It was completely unprofessional and wasted everyone's time. I expressed my concerns to management about how bad my previous experiences were with EOS' classes and they assured me it would not happen here with this new change. Well guess what, it happened today. It's been 4 days into this new transition and problems are already arising. We waited for step class to begin and the instructor wasn't there, which is highly unusual for her since she's extremely punctual and professional. I come to find out she actually left the company, yet they still have her on the schedule. This goes to show that management has no control or simply they decided to ignore the problem since it's a weekend. I asked front desk if they have any info and apparently none of them know what's going on. They also stated that management does not work on the weekends. The weights are always in the wrong place and staff just hang out in the front standing there talking. Gym staff is cool but that's pretty much it. People have REALLY bad "gym etiquette" here & it's beyond annoying. People will stay on phone calls/ sitting on their phones wasting everyone's time & not working out, with long lines for each machine. I've even had someone NOT let me use a machine because she was literally running back & forth using 2 different machines at once??? for the love of God, yall need to stop promoting memberships it's genuinely ridiculous. for one, the gym is insanely overcrowded. the wait times for the machines can be as long as 30 mins. there's often no paper towels to wipe down the machines. the machines r also broken every week. u guys keep selling memberships and giving tours when theres barely any space to walk. the list goes on.
