So by the reviews I was expecting this gym to be disgusting, but I was actually impressed I showed up as a guest with one of my friends. First things first it wasn't busy and it was clean. I appreciate everyone cleaning their equipment after they work out. The gym is really nice. I was able to get a good work out with not too many people being there. I went around 9 PM and they close at 11 PM. That's the only thing I like going to 24 hour gyms just because I work nights. They have plenty of equipment and even a cycling class that you can take. I also saw an open dance floor and a personal trainer room as well. I absolutely love the sauna they have one in the women's restroom and men's that was the best part of my work out. It was super relaxing. I would definitely recommend a membership here. I think I'm gonna get one. 10 out of 10 read more

Since GM Ofibio took over the operation at this location, there has been a distinct downturn in customer service. He fails to communicate effectively when group classes are being reassigned to different areas (usually smaller than what would be considered safe) and/or cancelled. He has never apologized for the inconvenience that he has imposed on the customers, especially during construction/renovation projects such as for mold removal and repair of water damage. As with other equipment in the main gym, some of the weights in the group exercise room need to be replaced. Also, it is not unusual to find bugs and hair strands all over the floor. Daily cleaning does not appear to be a high priority for Ofibio. Attempts to bring any of this to his attention is met with looks of disdain and tone of disrespect for bothering him. He threatened to close down the classroom altogether. As for the availability of group classes, he has replaced face-to-face classes with videos. An average week may have about 76 classes of which approximately 50 (66%) are on video and 6 will cost extra. This eliminates the need to pay professionals for their time and expertise, but it also eliminates feedback on technique and progress. Unfortunately, the video classes are rarely attended resulting in waste of space, time, utilities and license fees (costs being passed onto the customers). Streaming workout videos in the convenience of your own home may be a viable option. At this point, I can no longer give my recommendation for membership to the Copperas Cove Gold's Gym location. I was happy for four years before Ofibio's take over and will consider returning if he leaves. read more

I've had a membership here three years but I've been showing up regularly for a solid year. I know everyone's name and love this gym. If you know the history of Golds this particular branch lives up to the Golds standard. From cleanliness to plenty of plates to people truly caring about you this is the spot. How have you been? How are the gains coming? Wow you've lost weight! I've heard all of these things here and I don't get many compliments. From Marlo's awesome spin class to Michael's yoga class to the gym floor this is the spot. I could go on and on. Love it here! Been going there for a long time I would say closer to 6 months I think. I'm leaving g the country for a couple months. Went to cancel my membership moved some money over from one card to an other missed auto draft. I was like no big deal I'm going there now . Missed payment by 20 minute literally . Talked to the girl at the front desk who was super nice and was still learning . The Asshole GM walks up being cocky and not friendly , tell him my situation and just see if I can get the 20 dollar fee back . I missed it by 20 min . Been going there for a long time . This gym pretty much screams "NOPE!" To me . Could have said sorry we can't do that. He was also being super rude to the girl when she was trying to handle all my stuff. She was being super polite . Hear me out! This gym has a wet sauna and pool closed off from covid that never reopened due to it being a financial burden. I currently travel to the nearest la fitness for their indoor pool facilities due to trufit being broken and dirty all the time. With Active and Fit only allowing one gym on their membership for a flat rate why not make this gym competitive. Use advertising to reach new members about the amenities. read more

If a gym lets you sign up online, it should allow you to cancel online. I'm in grad school for physical therapy. I had a 2 month clinical near this gym and only needed it for 2 months, so I signed up on my phone in 10 minutes. However, unbeknownst to me, I would have to cancel either in person or by mail and I had already left where I was living during my clinical. I had to drive back to the gym (over an hour) just to cancel. Also, there is a 30 day notice for some reason. I just cancelled my membership during the month 2 (2 months is all I needed), but I am being charged for a 3rd month because I'm within 30 days before a 3rd billing date. The 30 day cancellation notice is just a way to get another bill out of the customer. read more

This gym is an absolute disgrace the general manager is a joke. I called canceled through killeen Gold's gym (was told not to worry about it it's canceled come to find out they don't do cancellations over the phone Which was never explain to me) because I was so embarrassed how it was being managed the general manager had no idea what was going on barely knew how to sign someone up for a membership next thing I know I'm in a contract for $79 a month which looking at the contract aren't even my signatures their children's play area is an empty room with hot wheel cars and a TV do yourself a favor and get a gym membership at crunch. I have been warned by multiple people that it is an absolutely horrible Gym general manager will not except responsibility for how he conducted business I believed that my contract was canceled for a month come to find out they never canceled it they continue to charge me $600 later I've already contacted the credit bureau and it is being disputed due to fraudulent signatures. They also do not go over the contract with you I believe I signed one paper then I had to print it out and literally everything that they printed out weren't even believable signatures they were squiggle lines complete scam go to crunch especially if you have children only $30 a month this Gym will try to charge you almost $80 a month I will never again do business with anything associated with this gym! Also when I came to see the gym the children's day care area was open for about 10 minutes and then whoever was running it wanted to go to lunch so they just threw my kids out in the middle of the tour so they're screaming because they we're playing with a little hot wheel cars in that area complete nightmare! read more

After reading the past experiences of other customers, I see why this place has such a low rating. First and foremost my family went tonight to work out and was denied because my brother was 15 and even though he had a FREE pass that was available with the membership, he was still denied. Hold on, it gets better, the staff stated that he could workout if he purchased a membership tonight, what kind of bullshit is that? Honestly if they didn't live close to Cove, they would be going to my gym, the Lions park, where they actually let people in with the family membership and/or pay the $5 fee, so if you're in the Killeen area and need a gym, highly recommend to sign up and if you're in the military, just go on base instead of wasting your money at this place. read more

I originally gave this place a much better review, but things change, apparently. I lost my job a while back, and I've been struggling to make my payments, but they have been made every month. I just called to ask to put my membership on a 2 month hold, and they won't do it without a fee. The options were me cancelling my membership or they could hold it for 2 months, they chose not to work with me. I called my bank and made sure they knew not to allow any more auto payments from them. They definitely could be more economically friendly. People fall on hard times, and they should be more understanding and willing to work with those people. There are at least 3 other gyms in this small town. Guess I'll be heading to one of those in a few months. read more

Great gym but the staff care more about money than mental health. Haven't been going to the gym due to depression after losing my brother to suicide. For the past 4 months and they are charging me for the time I've been away and healing mentally before I can get strong physically. Great people but they forget their goal is to help people live healthier and better lives. Not suck them dry of their money. I'm in the military and Signed up for a membership over a year ago but was deployed a few months later. They make it extremely difficult to cancel your membership. I've been paying for a membership to this gym I have not had access to by any means. They did not answer any of my emails a sent while on deployment. Now since I'm back, the only way to cancel is to physically go to the gym (a hour away now) or send a certified letter. Never again and will be sure to tell everyone to stay away and not sign up for a membership. read more

I really enjoy this location the gym is clean the staff is nice, and more then willing to help if there is a issue. I have never gotten a personal trainer before but, I would have to say I enjoyed my experience with Sylvia. She is SO nice and caring, and always will have a workout to exceed to your expectation. If you are thinking about trying it out, go here and pick her (for sure). One thing that I would also have to say is that this location does a good job and marketing, were at some times they offer percentages off to make it more affordable to the average worker. Initially I signed up at the GOLDS GYM in Killeen where on the weekends you were able to bring a guest for free. Today I went to visit this gym for the third time since the one in Killeen closed, and I brought a guest with me like I had done at the one in Killeen. When I came in I scanned my card and I said where do I sign in my guest, and the guy behind the counter looked at me like I was an alien and said well he would have to sign up and sign in and then you would have to pay for the guest fee. Then I said oh OK, well I used to go to the one in Killeen and on the weekends I could bring a guest for free. This dude was like oh well that one is closed... I was like yeah I know that's why I have to come to this one. so you guys don't do a free guest on the weekends? and he was like no we don't he has to sign up and you have to pay a guest fee. I literally said why do I even pay for this? And then I left. Honestly I think it's ridiculous because I pay $40 a month to come to this gym that barely has any equipment, it's set up horribly with all the equipment in different spots rather than grouped by like items and I come in with my guest that I have literally never brought before and I get told oh you have to pay extra to have them come in. I joined the other goals because it's closer to my house I literally drove 20 minutes to a gym that's farther from my house to basically get told to kick rocks. I'm canceling this gym membership immediately and I will never go to another Golds again. This place absolutely sucks, don't join this gym. read more

I've been a member of Gold's Gym for a few years, I quit today. Until this incident, the experience at the gym was ok. A few problems with broken equipment and cleaning materials. Once the coronavirus started it changed. The gym closed, like all others, and sent out the message that it was closed. Also stopped charging my debit card. I never received an email or message stating that the gym had reopened and payments would start again in May when they reopened. I sent an email asking for the status in May with my contact information. Never received any email or text message about reopening. I had to get a new debit card during this time so the charges they tried to make against my card in May, June or July didn't process and I did not get a text or message telling me of this issue. Instead they tried twice and both times accessed a $20 fee for no payment. Still no message or email telling me they were having issues with my payments. If I would have been contacted then I would have discussed this situation with them and had it corrected. I went back August 4th and gave them a new payment method because they told me then that they had problems charging my debit card. I told them I did not know that because I never received a message nor did I receive a message stating how to go back to the gym because it was reopening and charges would start again in May June and July. After I returned from the gym on the 4th I noticed that the credit card I gave them I've been charged two $20 payments and two membership payments. I returned the next day to discuss this with them. they told me that a third-party processes payments and they could research and find out what was going on. I told them then that nobody ever contacted me about the attempted collection against the card that I had replaced nor that I needed to pay them two months back pay in fees for membership. I gave them till 17 August to try to correct the problem. I even told them that if they could find an email sent to me stating that they were going to start taking payments again and that the payments from the card on file was being refused then I would stand for what I owe them and pay it. They couldn't do that and couldn't show any correspondence that they had with me stating that the payments were refused. Also they would not refund the two monthly membership payments taken from the new payment method. They said they would waive the two $20 fees. My bank will get the money back from them because they will have to prove to them that they attempted to contact me and request new information for a different payment method when the payments were refused. Also that I had to pay for membership when I wasn't going and thought my membership was frozen till I came back. Maybe it's out of their hands but the staff stated that they could not help me with payment issues, it was a third party that collected their payments. The general manager of Gold's Gym in Copperas Cove hardly ever even speaks to any of the members much less greets them or even walks around to see how the workouts are going. I knew he was not going to help me because he doesn't as far as I can see do anything to help the customers. I expected much better treatment from an organization as large as Gold's Gym. The only reason for 2 stars is because some of the staff are good people that try to help. read more

If you get a "free" training session make sure you're waiting on them and you make eye contact! I payed my membership to workout again, but wanted some extra help so I said yes to the free training. Well I got there 10 mins early before my go time and saw one trainer talking to someone, not sure if it was chit chat or sells I asked the desk hey I have my session at 7 pm. They said oh yeah that's him sitting over there he will be done shorty. So I said ok I will wait till he's done. But few mins went by and I only had a hour before I have to be back home to my kids. I didn't complain or say anything I just went to the floor and started a workout to kill time. He never came to me no employees came to me nothing. So I said oh well and called it a night. Then I get a email basically saying I showed up but decided to work out on my own, and was considered a NO SHOW. I was livid! I really wanted some help but didn't want to disturb or waste MY time. So if you want training I'm sure they will pay attention or look for you if it's a paid session! Thanks for y'all's help I never got. But don't lie on emails and say that to people! Poor customer service! Arrived at the gym at 0815 to use my free pass and sign up for a membership only to be told by the man at the desk that I can't do that until 0900. I asked if I could start my workout and when the sales people arrive I will do the necessary paperwork. His response was "no", it has to be "approved", however I could pay $15 to workout for the 45min until 0900. No thanks!!!! You just lost a customer! ***. The term "Walmart of gyms" comes to mind. First, don't be deceived....the BUILDING is huge...the gym is not. It's mostly office space and rooms that have been blocked off for most use. What drove the "Walmart" point home for me was the nickel and diming . I asked for a towel, I was told it's $2....or I could pay $10/ month for "all access use", I asked about their classes and was told that most of them were extra on top of the membership. They have nice, new equipment and the staff is friendly enough but I couldn't stand the place. Canceled within my 30 days (which took them forever to actually process) and went to a smaller hometown gym that I love. They even provide free towels! read more

Worst customer service imaginable. My husband canceled our membership two months ago and they are still drafting payments from his account. They gave us the run around about canceling and told us we would still have to pay two additional months because he canceled the day after the payment draft date. To say that I'm less than pleased to see another draft come from our account this month is an understatement. These people make it impossible to cancel and essentially keep taking money that isn't owed to them. I will never partner with another Gold's gym if this is the way they treat their patrons. Judging by the reviews we never should have signed up anyways, looks like they have made it a habit of stealing money from multiple people in this location. Helpful customer service and great selection of equipment. It's a little more challenging at the first of the year when many are trying it out for their New Year's Resolution - and not everyone understands the idea of treating each other with respect or not leaving their trash lying around. But that issue relates more to customers. Bad Custmer service and management. Went on deployment and froze my account. They kept charging me. It took them about seven months to fix the issue, even though I planned prior to deploying. I did a face to face with the staff and never processed my paperwork. Some of the staff members are rude and have bad customer service skills. I workout regularly at this gym! Nice gym with friendly and helpful staff! The one thing that I do not like about this gym that I can't bring my teenaged daughter to workout with me. I have to purchase the family plan, which means I would have to sign another contract with them, or she has to be at least 18 years old to get on the VIP pass! So, I workout with my daughter at the gyms on Fort Hood, where she is allowed to come with me for free! read more

Roy was great providing a tour explaining everything & being hand on. Definitely sold the Family & I. The only complaint I have is the parking lot. It is very obscure, who has the right of way. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new gym. I signed up for a 3-day trial online and was contacted by someone via text whom which I confirmed a time and date to come in. I was told to bring an ID and a copy of my lease (which I thought was bizarre) to confirm I lived in the area. When I showed up, the woman had no idea what I was talking about and claimed to have no idea who the employee was who had confirmed me arriving was. I was not offered a tour and was told to go do my workout in hopes the owner would be back by the time I was done to confirm my trial. The gym itself was very small and despite them saying masks were required barely anyone was wearing them. There were also no employees going around to clean equipment and all of the equipment was extremely close together. I cut my workout short and told her not to worry about it. She tried to hold onto a copy of my lease (which has personal information in it such as my social security number) to which I told her I wasn't comfortable with that and took my copy and left. I've heard good things about Gold's Gym but was incredibly disappointed with my experience. read more

Does have a pool, but you'll be waiting- and c'mon how often are you really going to swim? I agree with the other reviewer on the parking lot. It's not worth it after all the additional fees. Thought I'd check it out after a long time membership with the other local gym which is smaller, but honestly has everything I need. I'm not paying for hype. Very disappointing. Biggest problem for me is the sauna doesn't get hot. I was in there for 20 minutes and never came close to breaking a sweat. Many other women had the same complaint. I was ensured it would be taken care of by the next morning, which seemed reasonable to me because this was their opening day. Unfortunately, I returned the following morning and the temperature gauge hadn't budged. Swimming pool only has two lanes, only two work out benches and no cinema. Finally, the parking lot is poorly designed and is an accident waiting to happen. read more
