My husband and I went to this gym a few weeks ago and I had an experience I can't forget about. These two guys we're screaming at the top of their lungs at the workers. It was past closing and I was in the locker room and I felt so bad for those employees that were being yelled at. I was uncomfortable to leave the locker room and my husband offered to walk the woman employee to her car. She looked scared but handled it very professionally. She even offered to walk us to our car but we left reallll fast. We offered to call the police but she said the manager will handle it. Both of the employees handled it better than I would've!! Be very aware of Golds Gym before you sign up for any membership with them. I was a member and had to discontinue due to my work location. I have cancelled my membership and return the Gym cards at the Gym. I was told there will be no charges or fees but they still took the money out of my account twice. I have called the Gym for a refund but no success. I had to call my bank to change my card so they don't take any more money from my account but now I get a collection notice after five months to pay $597.50. I am planning to take them to the court and so should you. read more

Many customers have their masks half off while talking. Worse yet, a person behind the health bar usually has his mask below his nose but today had it all off while washing a blender. Decided to change gyms and heard horror stories about the billing here, luckily avoided any problems in that area but the reason I changed gyms was because this place was always dirty, and machines/ equipment were always broken and never addressed. Constantly watching people blow past the scanner early in the morning also got on my nerves as well. People sneak into this gym and don't respect the equipment, and the staff apparently also doesn't care or has no facilities for upkeep/ repair. I remember often seeing roaches running around in the floorboards of the sauna in the men's locker room, and the steam room used to be a disgusting place as well. Love this place!! Been a member for 3 years now but for the past 6 months ive been going almost everyday to Apex. And it became my second home loovvvveeeee all the trainers .Gym is clean . The staff is reallly nice at the front desk . One of the girl working at the front desk Viviana i think is so nice and always willing to help. Most of the time im on the apex side . Friendly front desk, great smoothies, nice entrance..The locker rooms are clean and neat, there are hair dryers, Qtips, and combs for your convenience..there is also a sauna and steam room...The equipment is new and the aerobic classes are fun..I also go to the aquafit class in the saltwater pool.. Here is my complaint, the pool doesn't seem clean.. There is rust all around the edges of the pool which is gross.. This is my only complaint... read more

Was here for about 6 months. Had to recently cancel because it was a little too pricy and it was about 20 minutes from my house. A new gym opened up a mile from my house for less than half the price so I had to switch. However, I had a good 6 months here. The machines are clean and so is the gym. Broken machines are fixed very quickly. There is such an abundance of equipment that even on the busiest of hours, you can still get done what you need to get done without waiting for a machine (usually). Great smoothie bar, wide selection of cooler drinks and protein bars. However, the staff needs to enforce the reracking of weights more. Almost every bench press, leg press and squat rack would have a bar loaded with plates, but no ones using it! Very annoying. If you're strong enough to lift it you're strong enough to rack it!! However, like I said, for the most part I did enjoy myself and it's a nice gym. Just too pricy and too far from me. But if you're in the area and have the money, I'd recommend it. read more

Cancelled my membership back in September and they said they would charge me for September and October, and that would be the end of that. Spoke to someone at the front desk and apparently their manager is no where to be found and has no schedule as to when I can reach her(how convenient) but rest assured, they'll leave a note in my account for her to eventually deal with the situation?! Wrote her an email, so hopefully they'll get back to me soon, but this gross negligence warrants a lot of negative reviews, and I would suggest to anyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM. I kept quiet for the 5 years I was a member and did not publicly post my opinions ANYWHERE. When I ended my membership I even allowed them to write on paper that the reason was because "I didn't have time." But this is my breaking point. I was one of the first members of Gold's gym when they first opened. I have seen so many changes in the 10 years I was there. When was the best time? When Johnny Moya and Doug Wentz were running the gym. It was always clean, johnny was obsessed with keeping that place clean and knew how to manage staff effectively. Doug is the best trainer there is, he is patient, creative (always comes up with new routines), and realllllly knowledgable of nutritional advice. He also stretches his clients after a work out which is something you never see other trainers doing. It's such as shame, when those 2 left the whole gym went downhill. Most of the regulars left, you didn't even recognize anyone anymore... very sad.... read more

This gym is a dumpster fire. Since the old manager left, and they hired this new Head PT joke, the gym has taken a nose dive. I didn't think one person could ruin a gym but he has managed to do so. Incompetent, cocky with an ego 3 times his size, he has a real Napoleon complex. He has hired some of the worst training staff imaginable and single handily ruined a great gym. When he leaves my family and friends will consider going back. You would think the golds gym logo and training banner would be enough since it's one of the oldest brands in the industry. This place is one big scam. Whether it be them charging ridiculous fees or late charges, they are always trying to rip you off. If you don't keep track of your bank statements this place will bleed you dry. Additionally, the staff is so horribly uninformed, and I believe this is because they top management is trying to take as much money from the consumers as possible. If the staff can't help the patrons..the patrons cant get their money back. If you are joining for the pool, DON'T BOTHER. The pool is never open. It is either under 'repairs' or just closed for no reason at all. The upper management would rather keep the pool closed to save money than service their guests. This gym at first might have a good impression and people act nice, but it's all fake. This gym is not only very racist against other people but this gym has a low self esteem type of people. Filled with people that don't know how to mind their own business. And most important if you do different things that they can't do they will put you down and they will talk shit about you. Everyone here is either very lonely or their self esteem is so low that, all they can do is to talk shit about other people. I don't think I'd give this gym even a one star maybe just half a star. There are few people that are good and that you can get along with but all in all people are racist, lame, has low self esteem, and there is a lot, I mean A LOT OF DRAMA at this gym, worse than little kids being a brat! So if your looking a good gym with a good environment without drama don't come here, settle for a better gym. The people in this gym are worse than a little girl that wants her toy but doesn't get it! I totally encourage other people, because the gym should be a place where there is no drama and everyone is here for one purpose; which is to workout and stay healthy together but this gym's motto should be.
