This is a newer Gold's, clean and well managed. I particularly like the Group Fitness classes and instructors which I do 3x a week. It's a suburban crowd with plenty of space. Pools at all Gold's are closed. They ought to use the space for something else.

Miranda Aggressively trying to take my phone

I recently came in And Miranda the old lady with piercings and tattoos was being a complete rude employee about my girls membership. She yelled at her like a damn fool She was disrespectful and asked if I was Yessenia, which is OBVIOUS I'm not and that's just being petty and dumb. I pay for the membership so I asked what it was, what was wrong with the account. She told to get out of her face. She threatened to have me removed and my membership revoked because I asked her if there was a payment that needed to be made. I stood there because she was talking crazy rude She found that all it was, her DOB missing. still being rude and in a loud tone of voice, She was cutting me off and not letting me talk. I told her all you had to do was tell us that instead of being a complete asshole about it, She got upset and tried to get even louder. It's NOT MY FAULT SHE WAS WORKING OUT INSTEAD OF DOING HER JOB. I have the video of her talking to me rudely and disrespectfully, this is just a screen shot. We are very upset and disappointed with the experience here and we will be cancelling our membership and going public with this. I've been a member for Golds gym for more than a decade and so has my father and family members. I have a video of her yelling at me i started recording because i felt like she was taking advantage of her power and when I asked to speak to a manager she said I am the manager and said "what what you gonna say" When she saw that I was recording her, that's when she got offended and took her glasses off, aggressively tried to reach for my phone( as you can see in this picture below) She looked shocked & she has weights at the front) She told me to leave in a very rude way and I just I told my girl let's leave because she was threatening me telling me all sorts of stuff. Worst Gym experience EVER!! Fire that old lady man she's a trip

Staff is friendly and the gym is secure. My favorite workouts so far are yoga, cycling and barre none. You're working out in a small infrared sauna led by trainers on the monitor. You will be drenched in sweat and the after workout burn will be calculated on your workout device (like an Apple Watch).

Heck, if you're just someone who enjoys working out in peace in a respectful environment where everyone minds their business, wipe down their machines, spray essential oils in your workout sauna room after their workouts as a courtesy.... This place is for you! What it is- hotworx in hutto has 8 sauna rooms and each room is designed to fit 3 people at a time. 4 of those rooms are dedicated to isometric workouts (these are 40 minute classes of yoga, barre, Pilates, core, glutes, warrior/intense yoga, and ISO/isometric) and the other 4 classes are for HIIT (2 spinning classes, rower, and assault bikes). The back portion of the gym is called their FX area, it has free weights, a bench, and some other gym items. There are 2 bathrooms and one has a shower for your convenience. The gym is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to get in you have to have an app with an entry code assigned specifically to you so I always feel very safe even when I'm alone in there. Yes, the rooms fit 3 people so theoretically you could have strangers in there with you but I have not once had to share a sauna room with someone else. I think everyone enjoys having their own space and even if someone did join in I wouldn't mind. Be prepared to sweat!!! The saunas go up to 130 degrees and though that sounds intense you'll get used to it and learn to love it. Membership is $59 a month for just the Hutto location or for $79 monthly you can workout at any Hotworx location and you get an online trainer and a diet tracker. You do need to purchase their mat and yoga towel- please do the Hotworx branded ones. I tried buying an extra towel on Amazon because I thought it would be the same and it's not the same grip. The scheduling for classes is super easy on the app. If you cancel a class or miss, no big whoop, no charge (ahem, looking at you OTF... $10 a cancellation? Yeah, no.) Schedule a free class! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do! (IMPORTANT- if you decide to try it out hydrate the day prior, that morning, and during your workout. Truuuust me.)

I was visiting AF in Texas Round rock and, while the facility itself has potential, my experience…read moreraised serious concerns about fairness, communication, and overall professionalism. I was reminded by Sergi to return a farmer's rack to its proper place, which I understand and take responsibility for. Once it was explained, I made it clear that I would follow protocol moving forward. However, what I found unnecessary was the constant follow up through text messages. Even after acknowledging the issue and agreeing to correct it, I continued to receive a second reminder. At that point, it stopped feeling like a simple clarification and started to feel like harassment. On top of that, there is a larger issue with equipment access. There is only one Smith machine, and during my workout it was occupied for an extended period by a trainer and her group. When I raised the concern, I was told by Sergi that trainers have priority because their clients pay both a training fee and a membership. As a paying visitor, that was frustrating to hear. Whether someone is a member or a guest, everyone is paying to use the facility and should have reasonable access to equipment. First come first serve is understandable, but allowing one group to dominate a single high demand machine without rotation makes it difficult for others to complete their workouts. I was told I could ask to work in, which I will do next time, but there should also be some level of awareness and courtesy from trainers and their groups when using limited equipment. Additionally, the ladies made the environment extremely loud, which made it difficult to focus and train effectively. I am more than willing to respect gym policies, but I also expect clear, respectful communication and fair access to equipment in return. Hopefully Mr. Sergi takes a closer look at both how members are addressed and how shared space is managed, because the current approach does not reflect well on the gym.

After a hearty Texas BBQ lunch, I looked for a local CrossFit box to drop in on. I found CrossFit Hutto on Yelp and called ahead to see if I could attend a class. The man who answered the phone said his name was Lance and was very polite. He told me I could attend either the Friday 5pm and 6pm class. There would be a $20 drop in fee or I could attend the free Saturday morning class. I decided to take the Friday 6pm class because it's really hot in Texas right now and figured it would be cooler in the evening. Plus I have to leave early in the morning on Saturday to attend the retirement ceremony. I arrived at the facility about 15 minutes prior to class. I was immediately impressed with the size of the property. The 5pm class was still in session and people were hanging around. I walked up to the front counter and put my things down. There didn't seem to be any gym employees there to greet me or check me in. I stood around for a while waiting to be greeted. There were a couple guys sitting on the couches behind the counter on their phones. After a few minutes of standing around, I decided to just go stretch and warm up on my own. Once the 5pm class ended, one of the guys who was sitting around got up and called the 6pm class up to the front. I followed the crowd to the front where the coach said hi and began to check members in on the Wodify app. I told him I was dropping in and he had me fill out the waiver while he instructed the rest of the class on their warm up drills. While I was filling out the waiver, the woman who was coaching the 5pm class came over to say hi and apologized for not greeting me. I told her it was okay because I know how busy it can be. After signing the waiver, I jumped into the warm-up with the rest of the class. The coach was preparing us to do strict presses for the skill work. I partnered up with a man of similar height to me named Mo. He was very nice and showed me where things were. This proved to be the theme of the class as the coach didn't really interact with me or many of the members. I felt as if I was on my own. Luckily, I do CrossFit workouts regularly and am a Level One coach. During the strict presses, I gave my partner a couple tips and helped the ladies on the rack next to me. I made sure not to disrupt the coach's class but I felt obliged to help the ladies next to me. They thanked me and said the tips helped. Afterwards, the coach explained the WOD and did a quick demonstration. The WOD was fairly simple and was only a 10 minute AMRAP. When I was done, I high-fived the other members of the class. I put my equipment away and asked where the restroom was. When I returned a few minutes later, almost everyone was gone and the coach was already locking up. I thanked him for the class and told him my name since we didn't really get introduced properly. He told me his name was Randy and I followed outside so he could finish locking up. I made it a point to say hi to him since he never really greeted me. At my gym, we make it a habit to meet every new member or visitor and make them feel welcome. We always have them introduce themselves and share something about themself. So the fact that no one at CrossFit Hutto really took the time to get to know me was a little disappointing, but every CrossFit box is different. Overall, I'm glad I got a good workout in while on my trip. I wasn't charged a drop-in fee, so that was nice. I checked the clothing rack to see if I could buy a shirt to support them but they didn't have any men's shirts available. The facility was very nice and I liked how spacious it was as well as the cool Rogue barbells. My only recommendation would be for the staff to be more involved with greeting and checking in members and visitors. The whole time I was imagining if my mom had dropped in as a first timer and how no one would have helped her properly workout. In my opinion, that is a very important quality of a CrossFit gym. You can have all the new and fancy equipment available, but if your staff doesn't engage and teach the members properly, people get hurt or feel unengaged.
