Walked out without buying anything because I guess we were "greeted" when we walked in, but nobody in my group actually heard anything. The only reason we knew was because a woman sitting at the counter said "Oh I love it when you greet people and it's not returned" to which, I didn't respond because I wasn't sure if she was a customer or relative or employee and didn't want to get into an argument. But then, a woman came out from the back and offered to help us, to which me and my friend said "Oh no thank you, we're not getting anything, our friends are" and gestured over to my other two friends who were still looking at the options and deciding. Then, the cashier said to them, rather strongly, "Can I HELP you?!" to which my friend still deciding said, "Oh sorry, I'm still deciding" and the cashier replied "Well, if you would SAY SOMETHING then I could give you suggestions and tell you the specials". She then said something like "So RUDE" while gesturing to the woman at the counter who then nodded and rolled her eyes. All the time acting like WE were rude when they were rude and off putting from the start. And my friends STILL bought their donuts and said thank you. Yikes. I hope they learn better customer service skills and get rid of whoever hangs around the counter making snarky comments. You don't know if the person you're being rude to represents one of your biggest business partners or not. Just, terrible. And the the donut was mediocre. read more

After trying Goldsboro twice, I will not be returning. Today I took my son in for a treat after an orthodontics appointment. There was not much left to choose from in the donut case. He asked for an apple pastry and I said that I would have the same. I took note of the price clearly listed on the case. Donuts $1.25 and pastries $1.75. When the gal behind the counter rang up the two items she said that I owed her $6.75. What??? I politely said, "I think it should be more like $3.50 right?" She says, "no, these are not normally in this case and that they are more." But it clearly says $1.75 for pastries. Is this not a pastry? The gal helping us does not apologize or explain any further. She just simply wants $6.75 for something that is marked $1.75 apiece. Silly I know but very poor customer service and very unfriendly. I bought him a donut and left. I would have bought nothing but that would not be fair to him. As I was leaving, I remembered why I have not been back since I had ordered a cake over a year ago. The cake was not ready at the promised pick up time. The older lady did not apologize for the inconvenience. They just said, come back in an hour. I had to pick up kids from school and don't live in the area. Coming back in an hour was not going to be easy. Well, I retuned to get the cake that I had already paid for and again they didn't even bother to apologize. And by the way, the cake was really dry and not in the least worth the money or my frustration. Never again! A little kindness can go a long way Goldsboro. Horrible experience. Sign says free donuts with breakfast. I was told they didn't have enough donuts. Case was full at 10am... While waiting for my expensive breakfast, owner gave away donuts to nonpaying customer. Be prepared to be lied to if you're not their friend. read more

First time here and it was the worst customer service I've ever received, the young girl taking care of us had a stank attitude, every time we would ask her a question she would respond with attitude and give a dirty face. And to top it all off the deserts aren't even all that great, you would think being in business for 40 years they would be somewhat good and LOOK better than they do. HORRENDOUS AND DISGUSTING DOESN'T BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW BAD THIS PLACE IS. I have been a customer since I was a kid. I moved away years ago, but I always make sure to stop in when visiting town or when we decide to order a birthday cake. I recently ordered a cake from goldsboro. I couldn't believe it. They lied to me over the phone. The cake was ugly and not what was agreed on; Completely Wrong. The short haired lady behind the counter, who i believe is the daughter (hard to recognize because she's gotten older), starts arguing with me; trying to convince me that they did what I told them to do. I told her that i had all the texts, but she didn't want to see them nor have me read them off to her. She starts raising her voice at me (all jerry springer like). Some hispanic girl behind the counter is just entertained by the whole thing; standing there smiling and laughing. Instead of this hyper woman saying: how can we make it better for you, she just talked in circles. It was all about placing blame. Then she starts yelling "i have two girls!! I have two girls!!" while flailing her arms because the cake I ordered was for a boy's birthday and she was trying to tell me she didn't know what boys like. Here's the thing, I TOLD HER. I even sent her pictures via text and email. It can't get any easier than that. She couldn't even remember her lies. She told me my email didn't go through. Then said she couldn't find it, which then turned into the attachment didn't open. Then, GET THIS, their email works differently because it's hooked up to a fax machine (LOL...I hadn't heard that one before). The owner then comes from the back and tried to defend the jerry springer lady, but since she doesn't even know what she's doing, her argument quickly dies. She gets frustrated with herself and says. YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M GOING TO FIX THIS RIGHT NOW! She takes the cake out of the display, literally slaps the receipt on the counter (i guess this is her idea of customer service) and shouts DO YOU WANT THE CAKE!. i paused for a second because I couldn't believe the behavior. I responded, no. She then walks off to the back with the cake. Counter girl starts laughing. As I walk out with the future birthday boy, counter girl says laughing, with a condescending tone: have a niiii...ce day... I drove three hours to give them business, and they knew it. When I first ordered, I let them know that I was coming from out of town. There were a couple of rude moments on the phone, but I was forgiving. I can't forgive them for intentionally messing up an order (they put a design that they picked and it looked like a police chalk outline on the cake rather than a figure). This was done intentionally. THIS PLACE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS. ANY BUSINESS THAT IS GOING TO INSULT, DECEIVE, PATRONIZE AND ABUSE THEIR CUSTOMERS, SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED BY ANYONE. I went into Goldsboro Bakery on Friday afternoon and I requested a cake of a gravestone that was to read: "R.I.P. Here Lies Eli's Youth: 1975-2015". I watched with my own eyes, a woman write down exactly what I wanted on the cake. I said "E-L-I APOSTROPHE S" A friend of mine picked up the cake for me today and didn't pay any attention to the punctuation on the cake. The cake read: "R.I.P. Here Lie's Elvis Youth". I called Goldsboro to speak to the manager, and I pointed out the incorrect apostrophe in "Lie's" as well as the incorrect name of "Elvis". The woman told me that she could fix it, but my friend was unable to bring the cake back to the bakery. She read off the paper and clearly told me exactly what I had told the woman to write down yesterday afternoon. So it must the decorators that do not know how to read or use correct punctuation. I will not bring this bakery any more of my business, nor recommend this bakery to any of my friends. .... Unless they are illiterate and want a name change. read more

She snapped at us with sarcasm and critical retorts...They might make a good donut or cake, but put on a bullet proof vest if you have to deal with this gal for any questions. Obviously they weren't interested in my business. It escapes me that my experience was that bad, since the reviews were so positive, but I will never go into that bakery again, nor will my family. Worst bakery ever!!! I trusted them to make my wedding cake and they could not follow simple decorating instructions. They kept the decorative items I purchased and didn't even put them on my cake because they were placed with a different order! When I called crying on my wedding day, I didn't even get a sorry from them; the only thing they said was,"we'll give you a discount on your next purchase." I will NEVER walk through their doors again! They knew I had an out of town wedding so I couldn't go back to have them fix it. Big thanks to San Diego Desserts for decorating it the way I wanted, and letting me know whoever made my cake not only overcharged for what they gave me, but didn't know what they were doing, they even put my cake onto decorative cardboard. read more

The low rating is an indication of their customer service and not of the food. We went there pretty regularly but the lady working there has made it impossible to want to go back. Not sure of her name but I'm sure they know who I'm talking about because I've heard people complain about her before. The young girl working the other day was very sweet and helpful, the older lady ruined Goldsboro Bakery for us. This is on behalf of the greatest bakery in Yuma Az I have been a customer in both locations and all donuts and cakes are freshly made! Some people order cakes for Pm pick-up and want them in Am. Cakes have to cool down before they are decorated. Duh you cannot go to head of line cause you screwed up and meant Am not Pm. Then blame Bakery for your lack of what you said! You are asked before you leave. You cannot leave cakes in sun depending on frosting and expect it to be of flavor desired. Duh!, if you leave ice cream in the sun it won't look or taste like what you ordered. It's not the vendors fault. If a cake is so bad and you ate all or most of it-Cannot have been that bad. Everything is fresh or you will be told so if you ask? As far as I know leave your attitude at home-You are not the only person in line. I see all kinds of good patrons and horses rear end and the girls bite their tongues. You see all customers are "Welcome- Some when they come and some when they leave!" My sister went into this bakery to ask about them making a wedding cake. They refused to use the only frosting we wanted on the cake, and made my sister feel dumb for even asking about the cake. It was kind of short notice to for them to make a cake in a few days, but there is no reason to be so rude about it. My family has been giving this bakery business many years because they are locally owned, usually have great service and make a great product. I've had better pancakes, but their donuts were excellent. Almost as good as Krispy Kreme donuts. Do not accept the jell based custard it tastes off. It looks like either a lemon or pineapple jell but isn't. read more
