! !!!!!!!SATAN'S DEALERSHIP BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly wish I could give them the middle finger versus any damn stars!!!! I purchased a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo back in late April. I was hell bent on finding something fast due to my old car not passing inspection. I stumbled upon Gold Star and that was the BIGGEST mistake ever. Matt was my salesman and of course he came off very pleasant and eager to help but he was only a wolf in sheeps clothing! He put me in a temporary car since my jeep needed to be detailed and some minor things needed fixing and I agreed. It was my first car purchase and being a woman I really don't know much about cars so I allowed it. However, the temp car was a Ford Explorer that broke down on the side of a back road in Upperville while I was visiting my family a week later after Matt putting me in it. (Yes it took them more than one week to give me my jeep I purchased.) When I finally got my jeep, the horn did not work and the back tail light was out. But they gave me an inspection sticker and paper saying it passed. Crazy I know!! So I texted Matt about this and he barely responded or sometimes he didn't at all! So I dealt with having no horn and got the tail light fixed my damn self! IT DOESN'T END HERE!!!!!! During the beginning of the summer my ac went out!!! After finally getting ahold of Matt in person!!! Because he doesn't answer texts or calls....he sent me to Gold Stars mechanic where he fixed my ac within a few minutes....but here's a side note the mechanic was even bad mouthing gold star! He said he was just there for a paycheck because he know how their cars are!!!!! When I finally thought all was said and done....I was driving down route 50 and smelled a burning smell...my boyfriend thought it was the tires but NOPE!!! Come to find out it was my electrical wires underneath the carpet burning!!!!!! I only found this out because my boyfriend hollered for me to come outside and take a look at my new jeep SMOKING FROM THE INSIDE BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT!!!!! ANS THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED!!!!! (Look at picture) so by that catching fire, my power windows no longer work and I cannot get them to go up which means my windows are down in this cold ass month of November!!! So when I took this to the gold star mechanic he called gold star over there on Martinsburg Pike and they said there's nothing they can do about it!!! The mechanic said he would have to find which wire it was by tearing up the whole interior!!!!! I am currently looking into this matter legally and something will be done because I refuse to pay a $300 car note on a LEMON JEEP by shitty ass Gold Star! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE!!!!!!! Do not go here!! This place does not deserve to have 1 star, I give this place a zero star!!!!!!!!!! Here is my horrible experience about this place!! First I bought a Pontiac Grand AM, I drove this car all the way to Alexandria, VA when I realized that reverse does not work. I stopped by Jiffy Lube to check this problem. The mechanic guy there told me that there are so many major problems, that I better get rid of this car. The gas tank was cemented (obviously this was from junk yard), major oil leak, the carriage was flooded with oil. They gave me a paper so I can show the dealer the problems. I went back and showed them the paper. They gave me a temporary car that I could use until they get the car checked out. The next day, they called me and told me that I had to get another car because the damages are more than the car's value. I looked around, the vehicles are so hard to decide, I finally found a vehicle that I really like-- 2005 Ford Escape (a SUV). I had to drive this car to another gold star place at Valley Pike. On my way there, I was driving on I-81, and the front right tire went flat. I nearly got in crash!! I called them and they sent someone to come and get us. They said they would get all brand new tires. They also gave me a temporary vehicle for 5 additional days. The next day, they called me and said that the car is ready to be picked up. I went there and I checked all the tires. They are not brand new at all!! I demanded them to give me my money back. The manager said "This is not going to happen." I was so angry, we had hours and hours of negotiating. They agreed to replace the front tire, and give me free oil change. I accepted this offer. I got the tire replaced and received free oil change. I finally can go to my second home in Maryland. On that evening at my second home, I actually felt relieved that the car thing is done. Unfortunately when I was sitting on the porch, I noticed that the exhaust system-- the muffler is really low, about 2 inches to the road surface. I was so pissed off, called the dealership and told them about the problem. They said they are going to order the new part, I approved. I drove all the way back to my home in Winchester, VA. The muffler actually cracked in half!! The next day, the front right tire got flat. I screamed and said that's it! I drove to 7-11 and inflated the tire. I called the dealership and told them I want my money back. They said ok, come here. The manager there did not cooperate with me, refused to give me my money back. I told them that if they refuse to give me my money back, I will call the police. The manager said "go ahead, I suggest you to read the contract before you call". I don't care about the contract, so I went outside and called the police. The police arrived, I talked to the police about the whole situation. The manager said ok I will give you money back, it will take a week for the check to be ready. All this hassles-- no one deserve to go through!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE (Valley Pike- it's going to close soon and move to this new place) !!!!!!!! I also talked to many local dealerships, they said they have heard so many many horror stories about Gold Star. They screw people up, they sell JUNK cars! read more

I went to buy a car and the finance guy named Mark told me on Saturday if I gave him my downpayment if something happened I could come get my money back, and that my car would be ready on Monday for me to pick up after they put a GPS on it. It wasn't ready on Monday and I tried to get my money back and they said no, they are liars!!! Then I go to get it on Tuesday and ask about the key fob that it says it has on the internet and there was no key fob or no mats, I ask about the mats and their response was be lucky you got a car! Buyer beware!!! I purchased a truck from these guys the third day I had it it left me stranded on the side of the road. I called them and they sent a tow truck out to pick it up and charged me 200.00 to repair the bad EGR valve. The next day getting the truck back check engine light on again, Bad EGR valve again. This time I take it to a reputable repair shop and they tell me the EGR valve was never replaced they probably just reset the code. I ask the shop if they can replace the EGR valve and asked if they fix it will it get rid of the Diesel smell, the technician checks my oil and shakes his head, my oil is full of Diesel fuel. I had to replace all my injectors to the tune of 3900.00 plus fix the EGR valve another 300.00. It get's better I traded my car in, I called the bank about 3 weeks after I traded it in and it still wasn't paid off, I called Gold Star and they had me come in and pick up cash to pay that months payment, 2nd month after trading it in still not paid off they had to give me money to pay the payment again, they finally paid it off by the third month. Had I not checked I would have had a 30 days past due on my credit report because of these guys. Ready for the kicker, 4 months later truck is still giving me problems 6000.00 in repairs. I stop by the Sheetzs next to the dealer I run into the sales man from Gold Star and tell him they sold me a hunk of crap and he tells me "yeah we sell a lot of junk cars" Stay away from this dealer unless you just want to throw money away. read more

I came into Gold Star Motors (company) to purchase a car. I had a specific car that I wanted to purchase. So I sat down with the owner (Thomas) and went through all the auctions. Prior to looking at cars I told him I had $2500 to put down on the car. I gave Thomas my deposit on Aug 3rd. I also stated that i didn't want to pay anymore than 10,000 for the car. So Thomas finds the car 2011 Chrysler 300 and tells me to come in to test drive. I did, told me take the car home, and bring back tomorrow to have it detailed. I do as told and they broke the wipers. I was then told over the rainy weekend to take the car to their mechanic to have it looked into. I do, they order the part and send me on my way. I come back when the part os ordered and it was put in. Now....my horn doesn't work, no controls on the steering wheel work and the air bag light is on. Now mind you I purchased the car Sept 3rd it is now Nov 20th and no one will return my calls or fix their issue they created. I love in West Va and purchased the car in Va. I currently still have a VA inspection on the car because it won't pass WV inspection due to airbag light on and horn doesn't work. I have the VA inspection that was done on the 3rd of Sept and everything passed. Did I mention that they have NEVER sent my registration information.over to DMV and they have 30 days to do so....its been almost 90 days. I have been in contact with the DMV in both WV and VA. I have been in contact with the BBB, i have been in contact with the Dealer Board. Also....when purchasing the car they have written paperwork to put in a new backup camera which they have failed to do as well. If you are looking to purchase a car with little to no hassle this is not the place for you. Terrible. I hope it is not too late for you to avoid this place--we learned an expensive lesson by making the mistake of not checking them out first and not getting the car evaluated by a professional mechanic (NOT their mechanics) before purchase. The car we bought had SEVERAL expensive repair needs that showed up as soon as we took it in to get an oil change. One of these issues was supposedly fixed--and the repair was included in the sale of the car--not once but TWICE by Gold Star. The mechanic that they hired--TWICE--did it absolutely incorrectly, with parts incorrectly installed for the make/model, and some repairs not even completed. When it broke a third time (in less than a year), Gold Star refused to pay for the repair. The owner was permanently "not available" (although he was in the building and likely owns a telephone), and sent his lackeys to insult and intimidate us when we tried to contact him regarding this matter. They do not return phone calls, do not respond to Better Business Bureau complaints, and seem to exist by taking advantage of people too who are desperate or ignorant enough not to check them out before hand. (That group included us, but NEVER AGAIN.) Finally, this is one of those places that claims to help people who would not otherwise (without their "help") be able to afford cars. We weren't in that situation--we paid good money for what should have been a quality car--but I hate to imagine what they would sell someone who couldn't shop around. I bought a vehicle from gold star on jan. 15 of this year. my car has been in gold star's shop 5 times for a check engine light that came on the day after I bought it. I took my car to a real mechanic and he told me that I have a blow head gasket between cyclinder 3 and 5. he told me the best thing I could do is replace the engine. REPLACE THE ENGINE ON A CAR I SPENT 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. GOLD STAR HAS HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES AND I FIND OUT ITS A BLOW HEAD GASKET. This is not an isolated incident. my son bought a car there also and had trouble with the check engine light. at the time I bought my car I didn't know this fact or I would never have gone there. Make sure you read what you are signing and make sure u get the 3 year warranty because if not u end loosing. Not all their cars are. bad you just have to search for the right one and have them fix it and take it to a tech to make sure they did. Cant trust no company. read more

I initially went to Goldstar and fell in love with a diesel Excursion. The owner, Thomas, asked me about doing some work for him. I agreed, and in exchange, was told that he would work out a good deal on the truck. He was going to supply the materials needed and I would install them. It took him 6 months and, during that time, he sold the truck. To his credit, he did find me a newer model that unfortunately wasn't a diesel. I purchased the truck and had several issues with it. They would fix it and it would be fine for a few days, but would break down again. After getting fed up with them not properly fixing the problem and eventually refusing to do anything, I found a local mechanic who properly fixed the problem. Back to the diesel. Thomas called me and told me that the diesel Excursion had been traded back in. Again, I told him that I wanted it. I was given his word that it was mine. It had some rust issues that needed addressed, and they repaired most of them. The running boards couldn't be mounted because of rust. Ok, I told him that I could weld them to the frame. The trailer hitch was rusted through. Instead of removing the old hitch so that a new one could be installed, their "mechanic" cut it off, leaving the rest of it still bolted to the frame, ensuring that a new hitch would be extremely difficult to install. I would have been willing to properly remove the rest of the hitch and install a new one myself. Unfortunately, he again sold it out from under me. He offered to find me another diesel Excursion. I told him not to bother. If he treats someone who had a business relationship with him the way that I was treated, I can only imagine how he would treat someone off the street. After all the paperwork was done and the insurance company was called and all arrangments made they said said that deal was never agreed on and that wasn't what I told them when I called. Warning Don't buy from this place. OMG... It has been a nightmare. We got a vehicle that we were told was going to be fixed before we brought it and guess what it wasn't. They changed the oil and said they fixed it. Will it needed a new head and a new computer and to find out the truck had been wreaked before and had frame damage and was to be totaled was the truck we gave $12,000 for is only worth 2months we got it. This is by for the worst place. The owner Thomas is a complete ass. We test drove a Nissan Titan ...truck said it had no gas, sales guy gave us 20 bucks to put gas in it and it shot gas out. Apparently it was full. Ok that's number one. Number 2 the check engine light came on when we were driving on 81 on our way to let our mechanic look at it. Started to acting like it was running out of gas. Got it there since we were so close and he scanned it and there was a list of issues. We already determined we weren't gonna buy it on the way there but what the hell...we'd still see what was wrong with it. Evap canister, transfer case going out, rear end, exhaust manifold welds about to break....and the list goes on. And that was all determined pulling out of the driveway. We barely make it back and we tell them they might as well set it on fire and roll it down the mountain. The owner wanted to argue about. And his mechanics could have checked it out instead of going somewhere else. (Yeah ok) then he said that he didn't want to sell us that truck (then wtf would you put us in that death box for a test drive??) then tried to push a more expensive, it was nice (appearance only) but not practical for what we were going to use it for. Don't let this guy try to bully you and try to pull some mind games.
