I was most impressed about the seemingly limitless options that would work for anyone's golf game. I tried around 3-4 different heads/shafts for each club choice (D, 3W, Hy, Irons, Wedge) and it was awesome to get immediate feedback in terms of hitting the ball and the stats/info on the screen and through Michael. The putter fitting was more straight forward, but still a cool experience. I would suggest to anyone going in to do so with an open mind, if you know you want Ping or Callaway then I'm sure they can still help but you won't get the most out of your experience. I ended up getting irons that I had never heard of before because they were most consistent. I also thought I would be leaving with 4 wedges, but Michael did a great job designing my bag for the game I have. For instance, I didn't use my hybrid often and it's really just a club to fill in the gap between a 3w and 4i. I also would rather use a 4i off the tee, if need be, since I feel like I have more control. Well, he fitted me for the Srixon Z U85 3i - something I was not previously familiar with to be better off the tee but also get my distance and to land better on the green. I was not pressured into buying anything - I did end up buying a whole new bag - and if your current clubs are the best option, they will tell you so. I got my "Prescription" and data within 2 business days of being there, so if you want to take a stab at building the clubs yourself or comparing more numbers, you're free to do so. It took about 3 weeks to get my clubs, which isn't bad at all since they were custom made for me. The packaging was awesome and every club was protected. I don't think I'll need another club fitting for another 20 years so while maybe a little pricey, I couldn't be happier with the outcome and just knowing that a professional set me up gives me more confidence.

But the True Spec customer service department has completely failed to get the one club replaced. Got my clubs at the beginning of March and here it is mid-April and many fruitless calls later and and no correction of the problem. True Spec doesn't appear to have a professional customer service system where issues/problems are logged into a system, worked on by the appropriate people, then resolved and closed out. But I'm still hopeful that this can be resolved before the Chicago season gets into full swing.

No cart girl and the turn doesn't get you very close for a snack. The closest you get is on 7/8. Some frustrating moments of hitting a fine shot and just having a ball disappear. Think it might just be one of those cursed courses with the way the grass/leaves/shadows combine. Holes are nice to look at but overall I just wasn't wowed.

They have been extremely helpful and easy to work with a number of issues that I've had - always pleasant, always working to make your life easy on the course and always striving to (and achieving) give the guest the best possible golf experience. Also, if you are a bird watcher and lover, you cannot top the several hawks that live on the third and fourth holes, and which can be seen elsewhere throughout the course. Thanks to Matt Radde and his staff. This place is a local gem.

I'm giving this course a 3 1/2. It's a beautiful and challenging course that's in decent shape with…read moregood length at 6800 yards and a slope rating of around 127. The pros: GPS on carts! Most holes are lined with trees on both sides and there a variety of holes that make you shape your drives. Some shots require a blind shot to greens if not placed properly. Greens were true and in decent shape with moderate speed/undulation, and not many ball marks. The clubhouse is quite roomy and has a variety of great food. The cons: No driving range. There are 2 cheesey nets with mats for practice. Some holes didn't have water in the ball cleaners and water fountains didn't work. Some greens were littered with leaves which made putting impossible. These are basic necessities that need to be checked and maintained regularly. It's an easy course to find. We paid $41 on November 1st, which is a good deal for a course of this caliber. The pace of play was 5 hours, but I'm sure it's longer in the summer. If management maintained the basic necessities properly, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.

I just picked up tennis during the pandemic and it's quickly become one of my favorite hobbies thanks to the instruction I've received from Tim. Tim is a great instructor for adults, but great with kids too. My 9 year old son has been taking privates with him to supplement the group classes he's doing at Karzen. He always has the best time and comes off the court an even player player than when he walked on. Like all other tennis clubs in the area lessons are pricey and there's limited court time, but seems to be priced similarly to others. I also got my racquets restrung by Mark for the first time ever and he did an amazing job (the ball was flying off my strings today!). He also got 2 racquets restrung within a few hours, which was great since my daughter wanted to use one of them to play the next day. I haven't tried their group classes yet since I have my own group of friends I like to play with and my kids are obsessed with the classes at karzen, but have heard from others that they are great. I've also heard good things about their cardio tennis class, which I hope to try soon!

It seems to be easier to get a court here than some of the other nearby clubs (ex: North Shore Racquet Club) and it's always pretty quiet. In fact, there's many Friday mornings (during this pandemic) where we've been lucky enough to have the club to ourselves. The billing system is a little confusing. They invoice you and if you do a semi-private lesson with a few kids they can't seem to split the cost. Sometimes they invoice me and sometimes my son's friend so there's lot of consistency. We figure it out between us, but would be great to just pay for half the lesson each week, which doesn't seem to be an issue at any other club. For example, I take a lesson at Northbrook Racquet Club with 2 other friends and they split the cost between us at the front desk. Overall, been pleased w/ their covid protocols from masks to hand sanitizer at the front. It's also an easy drive from our house in Glencoe. I haven't taken any of their classes or from any other instructors, but Maria herself is 5 stars.
