Even the pro shop has received updates. Weekends are busy as expected but Why would you play anywhere else? Excellent value for the money.

This course is #3 on the B-Man's guide to the top 10 Charlotte area golf courses. It's a good course but a #3 seems overrated to me. Understanding it's February so granted, not ideal conditions. Still a problem when you have more than half an entire green surface under repair. You get only one Par 3 on the front and two on the back. The fairways are wide open and forgiving. The tee boxes all in good repair. You get the computerized electric golf carts. The check-in and Staff was smooth and everyone was nice. The bar/restaurant experience was good. As a Senior golfer, you get considerable tee advantage on most all of the holes. There is water but it doesn't come into play. They had patrolling Ranger maintaining pace of play. It is literally right adjacent to the Speedway. On several holes, you can see the Grandstands. I think you want to avoid this place on race day.

By the time we got to # 6 there was 4 different groups on the same hole. When we finished 9 we went into the club house and asked if we could play the same 9 again. The lady working was nice enough to allow us to do that. 3 holes into the back 9 and now there are 3 different groups on the same hole. Several of the fairways were in bad shape. They will not have to worry about wasting my money on their course again. Whoever is responsible for running that course should be fired and replaced by someone that knows how a golf course should be run. To run a course in this manner tells you it's nothing more than a money grab and they could care less about you having a good experience. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the greens are in pretty good shape.

I found none of that to be true. I guess it's all relative right? Water does come into play on #8 which is a 115 yard par 3 over water. The balance of the water they refer to are either ponds that run alongside the fairway or creeks you may encounter that cross the fairway. Overall this is a very nice course and plays very well. The Fairways and Greens are in great shape for the most part. On hole #16 there is a strip of new sod that runs all the way across the green. For the most part the tee boxes were all green and in good shape. There were a few that were bare with little grass. It's very scenic and quiet, lots of wildlife and the fairways are wide open with strategic bunkers on most holes. It was 10/8/20 and the high was 85 but it was sunny and a nice breeze and just a perfect day for golf in the Carolinas! They have 2 driving ranges and a practice putting green. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was $35 bucks to ride 18 for the Senior rate which is a great value for a course of this caliber. The carts are electric and all in good repair. They won't let you take the cart into the parking lot so it's best to drop your bag and then park. I would highly recommend this course.

Conditions were top tier and pace of place was excellent, we made 18 in just under 4 hours. From check-in to cart return everything was top tier. I had forgotten how much I liked the course, though it is about an hour drive from my home in Fort Mill. The Staff was great from Michel in the Pro Shop to Tom the starter. It was a hot July day but it was nice to have the beverage cart making regular rounds though out our 18 holes. The greens for the most part were good, just a few show wear from the extreme heat and lack of water. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers everything was great. We made a quick turn for some food and we were back on track. One of the biggest changes from my last visit are the Top Tracer bays on the driving range, such a great addition!

The clubhouse does not honor the price of tee times that are reserved online. If your website is wrong, then you should give the benefit of the doubt to your customer and let them have that price. Completely unprofessional and just bad business to do what they did here. I even showed the pro shop the email and booking confirmation I received. Imagine booking an air bnb for a certain price online and then when you show up they bump up the price by $100. You're already there and committed, so they know you aren't just gonna leave. Shame on them.

It's been six years since my last review and time for an update…read more My buddy/co-worker S Fulwider is always giving me grief about not being spontaneous. Today, I called him at 10a and told him we had a 1p tee time and he was ready to say 'yes' after he cleared the deck of the 'honey do list'. The traffic was thick North on I-77 from Fort Mill but no grid lock so we made it in 20minutes and still had time to hit a bucket of balls. Jay is 'still' there, he's a fixture at this place and has been for at least the last 6 years since I retired and started playing there. They are no longer under Radcliffe Management but under Troon. Their 'on-line' booking website is excellent. IF you're playing solo, you're REQUIRED to call and book. We made the 9 hole round in 1 hr, 45 minutes and it was busy. We had a slow three some walking in front of us. It's hard to beat the price on this muni when you can get a Senior AND Vet discount and play for less than $30 bucks. Fulwider was pleased with the experience except on hole #9, the finishing par 5, he swears a blacksnake ate his ball. Always a nice change of pace but at prime time, Friday to Sun you will be challenged to get a time time and pace of play.

I waited for a background delay (I have a completely clean background), was told and confirmed I could purchase a different firearm instead of the initial firearm upon the end of the delay period. I go into the store, they wasted my time for over an hour because they could not figure out how to swap the weapons like they said they could. I asked if I could have my membership refunded. I can understand the frustration with that. I then attended a class required for my profession which satisfied the CCL requirements for NC. I was unaware the course I was attending satisfied those requirements until during the course, they mentioned it. I called Point Blank upon being made aware, explained that situation and they refunded me for the CCL class. I came in to shoot at the range. A staff member had the audacity to tell me it was not personal and they banned me from the store. I was told I was banned from the store due to the "refunds" and how they don't refund classes and because of the situation with the firearm exchange. That problem was due to their incompetence. What does that have to do with me? Are they mad because they had to do extra work? Do more research? Take more time? I'm unsure. May I mind you, I did the CCL refund over the phone, asked if it was a possibility. The employee explained to refunds for classes are on a case by case basis. I said "okay, thank you brother for asking". He came back on the line, said it was authorized and refunded me. Meanwhile, before all this, I was at this range 2-4 times a week, purchased my first firearm with them, and was consistently respectful of the staff and rules. Go to Blackstone or The Range at Lake Norman. Better rules, staff, & gun selections.
