Out of all the ice cream places in Rochester, this is probably my least favorite spot, mostly because the portion sizes are small and their prices are pretty steep considering what you get. Lone Oak is also expensive and the lines are always long, but at least you get what you pay for. Last time we went, I got a small "fudge brownie cookie dough" which consisted of a tiny scoop of just plain chocolate ice cream and maybe two chunks of brownie dough. So disappointing. read more

Convenient location & friendly staff - plus there's always new flavors to discover. This is one of my stops when I'm visiting. The staff is sweet (perhaps because they sample the yumminess). I appreciate their willingness to provide samples. With so many options for ice cream in the area - they're worth checking out. read more

We basically counted down the seconds until this location opened a few years back. It's a great spot for us, and a very convenient short walk to/from the Rochester Commons so the kids can play and then cool off with some ice cream after. I've tried many different flavors from here and just about everything was really good! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the portions are fair I think. All of the extras are a bit pricey and add up if you're not careful. I love that they do doggy ice cream for the pups if you want. They have a cute little sit down area behind the shop as well as some tables up near the parking lot. Only real pet peeve are the napkins... I need about 27 napkins per kid to really get them cleaned up but otherwise we love stopping here! read more

We got there a while later and they did not disappoint we ordered a strawberry cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter cookie dough, and strawberry.... Being less than 5 minutes from home, Golick's has always been our "go to" for summer ice cream. This year however had left me disappointed and impatient. Tonight was my fourth trip since they re-opened this season. Every visit has been at least a 45 minute ordeal. Tonight was no different. I arrived to their usual long line. Difference from this season and seasons past, there was half to 1/3 of the windows and staff. What in the past would have been a 15 minute wait has turned into a wait I'd expect for a sit down restaurant. After waiting in a line that was taking 7-10 minutes per order for 30 minutes, and still having at least a dozen people front of me, I decided to pack up the restless kids and head home. The ice cream has always been enjoyable and large with a reasonable price, but the unreasonable wait and lack of staff has left me with a lack of desire to return. read more

I have been to Golicks several times this season already. The ice cream is always delicious and the prices in line with their competitors. BUT yesterday ( 5/21 at 3PM) the service was terrible. There is one window for ordering and the line was through the set up orange cones and out into the care pharmacy parking lot. Three young girls were at the ordering window for 20 minutes talking with the employee. ( Not sure how much longer than that as I left.) They appeared to gossip for a large amount of the time even when they stood there and ate their ice creams. Thankfully a responsible employee noticed the issue and opened the pick up window for ordering so that customers could be served. The employee that opened the window to assist your customers should be commended and the employee that appears to be more interested in talking with friends should be reinstructed. read more

Well Tonite was my 3rd visit to this location and I found it to be a Charm. I had a Chili dog and a mini lemon meringue pie ice cream, My Darlin I think had the Peanut Butter Explosion( or Obsession) It was a great chili dog. From the toasted bun,snappy dog, tasty chili warm but not too hot, cheese and bit of onion it was a delicious dog My lemon pie ice cream was full of flavor and pie crust bits Tonite was not too busy, no long lines or crowded tables but it was steady during our visit.Service was very good. Phenomenal ice cream spot in downtown Rochester. With 50+ flavors of ice cream, yogurt and other sweet concoctions, Golick's rises to the top of nearby competitors. We highly recommend the Moose Tracks but with a dozen peanut butter favors you really can't go wrong. Time is running out to visit before the frigid winter, so what are you waiting for?! read more

This place is the biggest rip off I have ever encountered in my life. I paid $4 for a half a scoop of ice cream and the guy gave me a tiny little mini cup when I ordered a small. The hot fudge is just warmed up Hershey syrup and I had to pee in a porta potty with no lock. Also the guy isn't even that cute and we didn't need to hear the sob story on the girls tip jar. 10/10 do not recommend. read more
