Apparently for the hot dog challenge you have to lick the paper it comes out on, complete scam. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Lucky me, enjoyed two very delicious IPAs, nice friendly service, moderate prices, and pleasant outdoor seating overlooking the river. They've been open for around 8 years and have expanded their tasting room/brewing a couple times I believe. It's quite a traditional tasting room with a bar and plenty of non bar seating as well. Some large garage doors that can also be opened during warm weather. We sat at the bar and due to our timing it was not busy and the bartender immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome showing us the menu. They had a good variety of beer styles available including IPAs (single, double, fruited), brown ale, blonde, lager, stout, and more. They also got non alcoholic options as well as a food menu too. Can't speak to the food as we had lunch before our visit! Seemed like a great variety of offerings though! We were happy to visit and check this off our Maine brewery list. Beers were decent while not being extremely memorable or stand out. I did appreciate their wide variety of beer styles though. Still worth visiting for sure!

It had recently opened and the owner was talking to us about the beer and was incredibly knowledgeable. We were the only ones in the venue, but nonetheless, the owner was nice and talked to us throughout our experience. Fast forward, and we recently decided to bring a friend to the brewery on a Saturday night. For starters, the venue was completely dead. There were no other patrons (I don't know how they stay in business with the consistent lack of customers) and the bartender was...odd. We went to the bar and barely got a "hello." My friend and I ordered the pale ale offering that they had and my partner got an IPA. The bartender asked if we wanted to start a tab, so we said "sure." We stood there as the bartender turned his back...assuming he would take our cards. We awkwardly walked to a table as we sipped our beers...which we were not a fan of. The pale ale had a weird flavor to it, and the IPA had an odd taste as well. We fought through the taste, as we sat in silence with no patrons and just the bartender. We ended up paying our bill and quickly leaving. It's unfortunate, because Dover has the opportunity to house cool brewery spots, but this one misses the mark between the awkward service and the odd tasting beer. The general consensus was that we would not come back.

We finished half the chips before we ran out of salsa and it was $2.50 for a small salsa refill. Won't be getting these again. I had the throwback taco and the pork carnitas taco. The throwback was beef and it was okay. Not a lot of flavor but decent. The pork carnitas was very good and I will be getting it again. My husband got the same two items in bowls and he enjoyed them. The ambiance is okayish. All high tops inside and the seating was not comfortable at all. My legs really hurt by the end of the meal. I've never commented on seating before on any of my posts so just know that's how much I felt they were hard on the body. Service was fast but I don't like that you have to order on the app or go to the bar. It's very impersonal but is what it is I guess. Over all we spent $90+ on 4 tacos 3 drinks and chips and salsa. That's a bit high imo for what you get.

Staff was friendly, they do not offer flights so if you're like me I like to try what they have to then order a larger glass. Ordered some Nachos for a snack which were pretty good. As far as their beer it was just ok, refreshing and light. They had some Mug club growler thing so unless you bought into that you couldn't get certain beers to go. This was a bit out of the way to get to and probably would not be my choice to come back.

Definitive in Portland is an absolute favorite of my wife and I! We had our first unofficial date there, made many trips to try new beers as well as had our engagement photos taken there as well! Definitive did recently announce their closure of this location recently and my wife and I were free this weekend for their last weekend open. We made time to get down here to visit the spot as we had never checked out this location. If I was rating solely off of beers I would give five stars for the quality and taste. They have some delicious sours and make a good variety of styles. Only knock on their beers would be they have not made as many new beers over the past couple years. The downgrade from five stars into four stars comes down to the location itself. While I am understanding that due to space constraints it is more limited for space here it is overall a more disappointing space when you compare it to Portland. They do still have a patio available but the size is so small compared to Portland. The overall inside vibes are just not as nice either. This was a great spot to get all of those visiting the tourist heavy area of Kittery but I would take the Portland location everyday! Overall though it is a shame to see a brewery location closing in our great state of Maine especially a location of a brewery that is a favorite of my wife and I!
