I went in around 8:30am on a weekday and it was busy, which is a good sign! They were moving very quickly taking orders and such. I got a #5 handheld super. (Sausage egg and potato) the flavor was good and I got it "hot" and the spice was great. Although, it was SO greasy it was borderline unbearable. I tried to eat it in my car, but probably a quarter cup of grease came out of the foil. I couldn't even finish it because by the time I got to the bottom half, the burrito was so soaked in grease it was inedible. If I go back, I would definitely get something else in hopes it isn't so greasy. Terrible experience. I placed an order for work for 24 burritos. The day of my event, I could not reach them for hours. I called another location and the woman promised to call them and call me back. She never called me back and then when I called her she was very rude and hung up on me. I called her back and then she told me to cancel the order. I called the original place and I finally reached somebody and they said they would make it for me. I show up for my order and they said it was canceled. I have been coming for years to both Denver locations. Great burritos, good prices. They had advertised the hand-held burrito for 4.53 and charged me the smothered price of 6.53.... I asked about it, and they said it's more because of the steak even though the menu clearly stated "your choice of meat". They never said it would cost more when I ordered. This place has always been good when we have gotten burritos but today was a joke. I got the chili relleno and thank god I checked it before I left. The crust on it was black and burnt, wish I had take a photo. When I showed it to the cashier she got the cook who told me "that's because of our fry oil." I love Gomez burritos and I go to the location on Washington all the time, it's the best. The reason I have to give this place 1 star is the staff. First, they are slower than molasses. I went this morning and the woman at the register was answering phones, walking away from the register, chatting with the regulars but ignoring me as I had my $ out ready to get out of there cause it's 8:15 in the morning and I gotta get to work! After 20 mins, she gives me my order, it's wrong. She starts arguing with me that's what I ordered, but I come here a lot and I know what I said. Instead of a 1A, egg potato cheese chili she gave me a 2A - beans. Just beans in there. I took 1 bite and threw it away. Again, go to try one on Washington they are great! Wow! This place is amazing! I have to apologize in advance that I don't have any photos to upload, but that only because I eat the burrito so fast that I don't have time to take pictures of it! It's *that* good! I randomly stopped by this place one morning while I was on a Starbucks run. My hunny and I needed coffee after a night of drinking too much and I figured, what better way to recoup than a nice loaded breakfast burrito. Let me tell you, this place was a godsend. I called in my order while I was in the starbucks line and by the time I went over to pick it up, my order was already ready! The gal at the register was so dang sweet and personable. I legit want to be friends with her! Lol. As for the burritos themselves, they are delicious. Let's just say we've been back every weekend since we first tried this place. I didn't know if I should get a regular size burrito or the monster size. Well, we were pretty hungry so I ordered the monster for each of us and um.. ONE monster burrito could have fed us both! This place used to be the Park Ave. Diner, but was sold a while back to become the Gomez on Park... I am pissed that it took me so long to discover this place. When I opened up the menu, I thought that there were multiple misprints. How can anyone stay in business with prices so low? Don't know... Don't care. It was a bargain, and a ton of food to boot. I had the Denver omelet, and my gal had one of the breakfast burritos. Both came smothered in green chili, and both were great! I kind of want to take the drive right now to grab some more (its 12pm right now and I work in aurora 30 minutes away). Give this place a try, its pretty good and the girl working was pretty nice. Spoke a little quickly when calling out orders so it made it hard to understand (it wasn't the accent, it was the earth shattering speed in which she spoke). Very good burritos and also good value. My issue was they inefficiency. Go in at 8am for a breakfast burrito, and there is a line of 10 plus people. You assume it goes by quick, however that's not the case. Phone orders call in, cutting the line and the one cashier stops and takes their order. Here's a heads-up about Gomez burritos. On multiple occasions I have seen the employees handle cash at the cash register and then continue to handle food immediately after without washing their hands. I'm not sure about you but I don't want someone handling dirty money and then making my burrito right after. On one occasion I did notice that the lady at the cash register was only using one hand and had a glove on the other hand. I had told her "oh so is that she don't have to wash your hands before you handle the food?" And her answer was "oh yeah it's easier this way." I would not recommend this place. This review was taken off of fb from a customer. Anytime employees don't wash their hands. I find that disgusting. read more
