Gondolier pizza is a pizza and Italian establishment located in Chattanooga Tennessee. My family and I was stopped on a road trip and staying nearby at element hotel when we were in need of a late night dinner. So pizza was a safe call. We like to eat local when traveling and this place was nearby so we called in a pickup order since it was close to closing time. We ordered a large cheese pizza, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, and my oldest got a Gyro on a Pita. The establishment was located in a very empty almost abandoned looking shopping center. We walked in there was one worker who greeted us. Outside of that the place was empty and ready for closing. Decor was traditional Italian themed and had some dining in options. Service wise was ok. The worker was friendly and the food took about 5-10 min longer than quoted. Taste wise the pizza was very average. Almost akin to oven pizza from a department store. My wife said her spaghetti was also bland and just ok. My daughter did enjoy her pita though. So she was satisfied more than the rest of us. Overall it did the trick. A quick supper and a new pizza place under our belt to try. I can imagine this isn't the best pizza Chattanooga has to offer so maybe one day in future I can try a better variety.

Small cheese pizza with extra cheese

First timer at gondolier pizza. The pizza was yummy. I especially liked the extra crispy crust. Buy one get one cheese pizza is a win. I called in an order and the young man was very helpful and nice. Food was hot and ready when I picked it up 20 min later. I will definitely order from here again

Lemon pepper wings ($8.75) looked great but were very disappointing. Strangely bland (hard to believe)

Don't kill me, but this food is just okay (even for Chattanooga standards). I've only been here once and I got two small pizzas: one with extra cheese and one with mushrooms. I also got an order of lemon pepper wings. The pizza and, more surprisingly, the wings were bland to me. As I was eating the wings, I was honestly trying to understand what was happening because I saw there was seasoning on the chicken. My guess is they fry plain wings with no seasoning and then sprinkle the lemon pepper on top, and a lot of that just falls off the chicken. I was disappointed cos when I found out they made LP wings, I was very excited as that's my favorite flavor of wing. I've had much much better. The pizza crust was nice; it's a soft dough. The amount of mushrooms on my pizza was despicable. Both pizzas were also bland. And before anyone says the toppings give flavor, I've had many slices of cheese pizza that were delicious. If the sauce and cheese aren't bomb, it's likely the pizza will be mediocre no matter how many toppings you put on it. Honestly, the only thing that saved my experience was the buy 1 get 1 deal and the amount of wings included in an order (at least I could doctor then up at home). I've heard so much about this place and the reviews are good, but I was really disappointed in the food. I'm still searching for a pizza place around here that really knocks my socks off. I may try Gondoliers one more time; maybe they had an off day. My expectations are forever altered, though.

i came in to get my pick-up order & they gave me the wrong one at first. luckily i checked before i left. then i asked for some parmesan & red pepper packets, they gave me 3, then i asked for some extra, i received 3 more for 2 medium pizzas. the ownership has changed from what i hear, and you can really tell. the prices, along with the quality is changing, and not for the better. i've been going here over 20 years, and never had a problem until now.

    Meatball Sub Sandwich

This restaurant used to be good, but tonight we got take out from here and it was disgusting. I got a meatball sub. The meatballs are supposed to be homemade, but what I got was a roll with meat sauce, peppers and no meatballs. When I called to complain, I got somebody on the phone that said, "What do you want me to do about it, I just work here. The managers aren't here." I paid 15 bucks for a meatball sandwich plate that had no meatballs, and got nothing but hostility when I called to complain. Completely unacceptable.

Food looks great, however for $75 on Grubhub, I think the pizzas are smaller than expected.

Good food and quality but don't order in grub hub. Too pricey. If I had to have them again would rather go to restaurant.

She could have told me anything and how would I know? Anyway, we were seated very quickly and our server was there before we knew it. He took our drink order and have us a few minutes to check out the menu. When he came back we asked if we could do half Demarco and half sausage and pepperoni. Said yes so that's what we got. Pizza came quick and it was prolly one of the best pizzas I've had in a long long time. Although I can't remember the last time I was there, but pretty sure it was good then too. I will say that there was one very serious problem and we could have handled it better. You see there were 4 of us with one being our 9 yr old grandson. Pizza had 8 slices, so we each had 2. Now tell me how fair is it that Grandpa only got 2 and the kid got 2. We should have ordered a 2nd pie. Great place, great food and great location downtown, so join the community and have a great slice!

After watching Sooooo many pizza reviews, we decided to try the Neapolitan style pizza. Thin crust and cooked in a wood fire oven. So.... First and foremost pizza was good. Being a Neapolitan style, I was expecting a bit more crunch with the slight char. The tomato sauce was very good. You could tell it was fresh crushed tomatoes and basil. Bartender and our waiter were awesome. Talked to us about the local brewery, the styles of pizza, etc. very friendly and cooperative with all the questions we had. We were both pleasantly surprised by this local downtown place. Good atmosphere and good food. A must try when downtown Chattanooga. They do offer Detroit style and New York style pizza as well. It all depends on the way YOU like your pizza cooked! VERY good pizza! I would probably give this pizza, on a pizza scale; an 8.2 which is pretty high. A little flop on the crust, but the crunch, char and the amazing tomato sauce, partnered with the atmosphere and friendly staff made it a must visit pizza place! We finished it off with the local made gelato. I had milk and honey and my wife had chocolate. Both were very flavorful and refreshing on this very hot day. Community Pizza is fitting as everyone either in or around this community should stop by and try this pizza! Thanks for a great afternoon experience!

Wound up at the aquarium for a couple hours and ended up hungry at the very end of it. Not far from where we were parked we found the Wooden City conveniently across from it all (dare I say a brisk walk's worth) with Mellow Mushroom and Ben & Jerry's establishments at both corners. We were given the options of staying inside or being placed outside and we chose (biased a lil) the opportunity of eating outside. We were taken care of accordingly by Jonathan, who is a perfect example of someone that makes tourism worth it, we chitchatted back-and-forth and came across some great options on our appetizers and drinks. While we waited for drinks, we were served water with ice as the weather outside was pleasant but a little too hot for the afternoon... When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then. Towards the end, I saved the location at the name of the restaurant, as I would like a near future to come back and visit with more time. Jonathan was an absolute help for our satisfaction in Chattanooga and we are thankful.

Apparently, we had come during Chattanooga Pizza week. We had to wait a hot minute to order, and after that it was about a 1hr wait for our food.
