We tried pizza from the Hitching Post six years ago and it was terrible! After reading all the rave reviews we decided to give it another try. Big Mistake! The crust was super thin, rubbery in the center and over cooked on the edges. The cheese was elastic in texture, think of a rubber band. Pizza is delicious and truly is 5 stars. We just moved to the area and this was our first time trying it. The crust is thin and crispy and the sauce is tasty and just the right amount. The toppings are exceedingly generous and prices are very reasonable. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was due to the wings. They were pretty dreadful. They were soggy and lacked flavor. Essentially, think frozen Tyson wings that you heat up in the oven. Only one other bit of constructive feedback is they are takeout only. I wish they had a place to sit and eat but, they do not. We found this hidden gem one night while visiting friends who live in Ellijay. They ordered pizza from here and we we're blown away with how great the pizza was. Come to find out, the nice man that owns and runs the place is the Ellijay mayor. He was beyond hospitable and eager to help us since we were stranded. Super nice people that sit on the top of the hill! It's a package store on one side and a pizza/deli on the other. As soon as I walked in the smell of pizza was amazing!! All fresh ingredients with a super crust! I ordered the works and it was loading with toppings and the crust held it all without bending at all. It's not too thick or too thin.
