I ordered the chicken tenders and fries along with the White Pizza, adding spinach, for delivery. This was over $50 with all the fees and tips you must pay for the convenience - and I accept these extra costs but the pizza - which should have been the star of the show - was hands down one of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten! The standard Chicken fingers and fries kept this from a 1 star. It was supposed to be a White Pizza, advertised with garlic - should have been flavorful, with a NY style thin crust, with wonderful cheeses - pause now to look at picture - shameful! That is so far from a white pizza and horribly bland. Ugh! After paying that amount I tried to salvage it by roasting a head of garlic to add some flavor. Excellent food and great service! We stopped by for a late lunch on a Wednesday and were seated immediately. Service was great. Very clean! Very friendly and accommodating. I had the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap and my husband had the Meatball Parmesan Sub. We both had fries as a side. Our sandwiches were huge and delicious! We definitely needed to-go boxes! Everything was served immediately and hot! We tried the homemade gelato (chocolate and key lime pie) for dessert and both were amazing. It's made on site by the owner! Hello Mr. Russo and the Manager of NYPD in Hixson, TN: I heard that you are the owner of NYPD. You probably won't read this, nor will you care. This is our first time visiting Chattanooga, Tennessee. My husband works and travels all over the US to work at the Nuclear Plants through the Boilermakers Union. This is what brought us here to Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. We've been here for about a month. My daughter Julianna Pena, who by chance happens to be a World Bantam Weight UFC fighter, took us to a restaurant in Chicago, Illinois, where she lives and introduced us to the Stuffed Pizza. Best pizza ever. About our 3rd week in, I drove my husband to the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Around 6:00 pm I drove back to pick him up. I looked over and noticed the parking lot had quite a few cars parked. I quickly slowed down and saw the sign New York Pizza. I didn't see the last part of the name of your restaurant, which was Department. No biggie. I got excited. I told my husband about it. My husband isn't fond of pizza, but he said on my day off I'll take you. His day off came around, and he drove me to your restaurant. When we arrived, I was so excited because I was going to order your stuffed pizza. We entered, but no one was around to sit us. There was another lady sitting down. We asked her, "Do we sit ourselves." She said, "Yes, I guess you can sit anywhere." Just as we were about to sit down, the waitress came around. My husband asked her if we could sit anywhere. She said yes. We sat down. She was very nice and friendly. She asked us if we wanted anything to drink. My husband ordered a Coke, and I had coffee. The waitress also brought me water. She brings our drinks. After about 3 or 4 minutes, the waitress comes back to take our order. We get to the good part. We ordered the Stuff Pizza. We waited about 25 minutes. You know it's a big pizza it takes time to cook. The waitress was in the bar shooting the breeze with the other customers. A gentleman who was in the kitchen, not our waitress, brought out the stuffed pizza. Keep in mind I bragged about your pizza to my husband telling him how good it was going to taste. This man who brought out the stuffed pizza said, "I'm not going to place your pizza on the stand because it's top heavy." It made sense. It looked heavy but gorgeous. My husband quickly served himself, and I'm looking at him take the first bite. I asked him, " does it taste good, honey?" He says, "ahuh." So I smile. I serve myself and quickly cut into it. I taste it. My husband is looking at me. I swallow my first bite. I say it's cold. The marinara sauce inside the pizza is cold. The pizza is cold!!!My husband looks at me and says yes its cold. I just didn't want to say anything. Aughhh!!! I look around for the waitress. She was no where to be found. I know she was on the bar side, but I didn't want to bother her. I waited and waited to see if she would come back out from the bar side. When she didn't come. I stood up and walked towards the entryway of the bar and just waited. I just wanted to tell her that our stuffed pizza needed more time in the oven. But she never came. So I walked back to the kitchen, and I went through the double doors. A man walked towards me, and I told him that our stuffed pizza was cold inside that it needed to be put back into the oven. He said, " Oh I'm sorry." I quickly walk back to my table. I tell my husband that they are going to put it back into the oven. I don't know if they did or not because when it was brought back, it was still cold, and we ate it that way. What a disappointment. I was rather embarrassed with my husband because I talked so much about how good it was going to be because he doesn't like pizza. (Who dosen't like pizza???) My husband said, " You sure like to hang yourself." The same man who brought our pizza the first time around came out and said that he inserted the pizza with the thermometer that his oven was 600° and that it should have been hot. I asked him and the waitress to taste it because they were making us feel like we were lying. They both declined. The man never apologized. He skipped out. The waitress apologized. Suffice to say it was a disappointment. We drove the 18 miles back to our hotel room in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with our leftover stuffed pizza. When I got to the hotel room, I opened the pizza box. I grabbed some aluminum foil to wrap it, and it was soggy and whimpy. I told my husband how many other customers have been served the Stuff Pizza cold and didn't say anything. I don't know what happened back in that kitchen, but I feel a manager should have come out and apologized to us. We weren't asking for anything free. We weren't asking for a discount. An apology would have been just fine and to acknowledge that something went wrong. I will say this, the stuffed pizza marinara sauce was delicious, and had it been hot, it would have been a game changer for me. read more

Very disappointed tonight, came home hungry, I absolutely hate sending food back, my food had been sitting for awhile, absolutely ice cold Ruben and fries and couldn't pick it up it was so soggy. We finally got around to trying this place! Beyond thrilled that it is just a couple of minutes from our house! We went early on a Wednesday evening (around 5:00) and there were just a few tables filled at the bar and one booth filled, but by the time we left, all of the booths were filled and a couple of the center tables. The decor is nice and clean, very subdued in natural tones. There is a nice bar area to the right as you walk in, with a few tables and it looked like some more tables in the back. The regular restaurant seating area is to the left. There are large booths on each side with nice high backs and tables in the center. We were able to choose our booth. The person who sat us also ended up being our server. He immediately asked if we wanted something to drink in addition to water and brought over the beer menu for my husband. He came back in about a minute to get my husband's beer order and to bring us our waters. Our server was back to take our order in just a few minutes. We settled on a large Supreme Pizza and two House Salads. Our salads arrived promptly and they were very good. The server came back to check to make sure every thing was good. I finished my salad first, and I had just put the fork down in the plate, when he came back to pick up my empty plate. Shortly after that our pizza arrived! So good! Just the right amount of everything, plenty of cheese. The crust was so good! I am a huge crust fan, it can make or break a pizza in my eyes and this was perfect. On the thin side, with big huge bubbles on the edges. There might have been some oil brushed on the edges, they were so nice and crispy. Our server came by when we were about halfway through our first slice to make sure everything was okay and then when we were halfway through the pizza, he came back again and we asked for a to go box. Tried their new location out Hixson Pike in Lakesite. Easy to find as they occupy the end of the new building facing the street. There is a lot of parking. We ordered online and were given a time it would be ready. We got there at the appointed time and had to wait about five more minutes. I would much rather wait a couple minutes longer than have it ready early and getting cold. Inside is bright and big. The kitchen is directly in the rear from the front door, and they have an outside seating area through the dining area on the right. The front by the hostess station can get crowded if people are waiting on their to go orders and other customers are leaving/ entering, but we ordered well before the dinner rush and did not have any issues. They seem to have a lot of staff, but not all were doing much. Our hostess made many trips back and forth to the kitchen checking on food orders, and another waitress was also checking, but the rest were standing around, either talking or checking their phones. There were only a few tables with customers, so it looked like they had more staff than needed out front. I read later they had a significant backup on orders, so am very glad we ordered early. The food remains good, but they are still working out a lot of kinks. The Hixson location often has major wait times, but the service is always very good. I think once this location gets their feet under them, they will certainly be as good as the other locations. read more

Such a nice place with so much potential! We ordered the pretzel sticks and loaded fries for apps. Both were over cooked except for the undercooked bacon. The pretzel was dry and the cheese that comes with it looked like it was out of a jar. The loaded fries were underwhelming for a table of 4 and like I said the bacon was gross. I also expected the bacon to be in bits for this type of app not slices. My wife ordered penne al la vodka and it was fine but the roll that comes with it was like a brick and super dry. Even using the sauce to make it soft was a challenge. My son had the same feedback for his roll with his dish. Maybe they were day old rolls? The pizza- this is why this place is good. The pizza! I took a friend to dinner after seeing the name on the sign. I assumed it was the same NYPD that used to be in Hwy 153. Boy, was I wrong! The interior is extremely nice, the staff is friendly enough, and the bathrooms are perfectly spotless. That's about as good as it gets. Service was slow, at best. We had to flag down servers to get drink refills or other items. The food was priced like a higher end Italian restaurant, but it has the quality of a common pizzeria. For example, garlic bread is $9.00 and is a small loaf of Italian bread with butter and garlic. We ordered the bread as an appetizer, and it came AFTER the pizza. A "supreme" pizza is 23 bucks and was as thin as paper. All in all, it took 50 dollars for bread, pizza, 1 small salad, and 1 soda. Ridiculous! We arrived super hungry at roughly 7:45pm. The restaurant was normal busy for a Friday night. Casual ambiance and appeared clean. We sat slightly longer than expected to get our order taken. We ordered two drinks, three appetizers and two pizzas once the waitress made it to our table. Our appetizers came out hot and in decent time. We got the shrimp, fried zucchini, and the garlic rolls. All cooked well and delicious. We waited roughly an hour for our pizzas, however. As we waited, a crowd at the door began to appear - it was to-go orders that haven't been helped. One lady waited from the time we got our appetizers until we paid for our food for her pizza (she was there for at least an hour). Another man left without his takeout order after at least 45 minutes of waiting. Meanwhile in the restaurant, two different tables around us had issues with their order after waiting an hour like us, and simply left. We ordered two pizzas - a supreme and a white. My white had an absurd amount of garlic, but it was at least super hot. My husbands supreme was cold. We never could get our waitress back to our table to bring it to her attention. I also never had a single drink refill. After this, we had lost most patience. The waitress returned to our table after another waitress noticed us waiting and notified her. My husband is a pretty patient man but explained that one of the pizzas was cold. The waitress argued with my husband and said that they don't serve cold pizza. It was mind blowing and pushed the hubs. My husband said he would pay for the cold pizza, the point is not the cost but not to tell him that he was lying when there was a whole pizza sitting there untouched. She eventually took the cold pizza off our bill. I have mixed emotions about eating here again. There was no accountability and the wait was too long.. read more

Not been to the new location but I went often when they were in Hixson. The owner is super nice and caring. He fed so many people during the pandemic free of charge. I'm tempted to give this place one star, but the waiter was fine and my son's pizza was just ok. We've had Parmesan chicken here that was delicious, but the last time it was just ok, and this time it was positively putrid! The tomato sauce was very sour. The chicken was overcooked to the point it was very difficult to cut and nasty, rubbery and tasteless to chew. We paid $40 for a meal we threw away. They have an added payment devise that was confusing and frustrating. We won't be back. read more

We have frequented this place since they've opened. The food is always incredible, coming from the northeast they are truly the closest we've found to New York style pizza in Chattanooga. The lakesite location has a small outdoor area with games like cornhole and an event stage for live music. They also have a full bar. It's a great place to enjoy a meal and hang out. The wait staff had also gotten much better since first opening. This has been a great addition to lakesite/Soddy Daisy. Hopefully more restaurants follow suite. read more

This used to be an amazing place to eat, however, just like the Hixson location, it has turned to crap. I'm not sure how you mess up bread, but they managed to serve raw dough. The sauce came from a cheap jar and was mostly water. The chicken tasted and smelled boiled and spoiled, it was uneditable. They even managed to screw up a salad. Was told the good chef is no more and now there is a "chef in training". No, that is what we call a line cook in the restaurant world. Save your hard earned money and go to Rickos. Ok, they are new to the location so I give 'em some slack in living up to the 153 location legacy. They have improved but could follow me on a few tips. The crust is too thin. Maybe offer several options. A veggie pizza without broccoli isn't. At least offer it with a few other veggie options. The bar is nice. In fact, it outshines the otherwise spartan nature of the dining area. Drink prices are on the premium end but it's a classy spot to meet people and hang with friends. Everybody has their own ideas about how pizza should be just like barbecue but for my druthers down the pike for a pie, Lupi's takes first place with honors, Biba's is a close second, followed by NYPD. We have gone 5 times to New York Pizza in hopes something would get better. But tonight will be our last. The service has been horrible from day 1. I can accept situations like Covid. But there's never been a single time we have been that we're not trying to flag down someone in order to get something. We went early tonight. It was not full. Staff spent so much time just talking to each other by the drinks or checking their phones. My food was mediocre, at best. The meatballs were completely rubbery. My husband's pizza was swimming in grease and had a pizza crust that was on par with pre made or frozen. The prices are way to high for what is given. Honestly, I really wanted to love it, thus us going back several times before now. Each time I hoped the priors were a fluke. We loved NYPD on 153, especially when Gary was in charge.
