I recently visited Medspa of San Ramon for a laser facial treatment and had a satisfactory…read moreexperience. From the moment I arrived, the environment was clean and organized. The staff was polite and maintained a professional demeanor. Before starting, the practitioner clearly explained the steps of the laser facial and addressed my questions regarding the technology and expected results. The procedure itself was handled with care. The practitioner ensured I was comfortable, and the process was completed efficiently. While laser treatments involve some sensation, it was manageable and consistent with what was described during the consultation. Post-treatment, I observed a noticeable improvement in my skin texture and tone. The recovery time was minimal. Overall, the service was high-quality and delivered the intended results. I would consider returning for future treatments.

I had a terrible LHR experience with Anu. I have extensive prior LHR experience due to PCOS (30+…read moresessions) and returned for treatment after hair regrowth following pregnancy. During my 2nd session, Anu increased the laser settings and made 2-3 passes over my face and neck, resulting in significant burns--the first laser burns I have ever experienced. When I raised concerns, she denied increasing the settings, claimed the marks were not burns, and attempted to lie despite my clear recollection. At subsequent appts, she never inquired about the burns, my skin condition, or treatment progress. She lowered the settings and continued making 2-3 passes each session. Since the burns, I have developed persistent hyperpigmentation and dark patches on my face that have lasted over 8 months. Even after my final session, I developed new dark spots on my upper lip after 3 passes. When I raised these concerns, Anu dismissed them as being due to my Indian skin rather than acknowledging that her technique was the cause, considering I've never had this happen before. Her treatment style also felt rushed and careless. The laser frequently fired on my ears, and during one session she unexpectedly treated my forehead without discussion, claiming she saw a hair, then stating it was actually a wrinkle from furrowing my brows. My final session was the most upsetting. After asking if she could reduce the cryogen cooling spray, she instead turned it off completely and performed the entire treatment without cooling. She claimed this would improve effectiveness and stated I should appreciate her effort. As a NP myself, this seemed questionable, so I researched it afterward. Cryogen cooling is a standard safety feature used to reduce the risk of burns and does not interfere with treatment efficacy. Operating the laser without it offers no clinical benefit and requires lower settings to avoid injury. Intentionally turning it off is negligence and malpractice. Settings must have been consistently low to allow 2-3 passes without burns, which explains my poor hair reduction when compared with previous providers. When I expressed my concerns, Anu defended her decision to turn off cryogen by citing personal experience and stating she'd done the same for others. She measured success by seeing surface hair singe during treatment rather than long-term hair reduction, which is the actual goal of LHR. Throughout our conversations, she was defensive, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility for the burns, pigmentation changes, or her deviation from standard protocols. Another issue was repeated misinformation. On multiple occasions, she told me that shaving causes hair to grow back thicker, stating this came from "old Indian beliefs." This is a well-known myth that has been repeatedly disproven. Given that LHR patients are routinely instructed to shave before treatment for optimal results, it is inappropriate to tell patients this myth and cause unnecessary anxiety. She also advised that finer hairs don't need to be shaved. This directly contradicts standard LHR guidance, which recommends shaving all treated hairs so the laser energy targets the follicle rather than surface hair. Taken together with the burns, pigmentation issues, repeated passes, and use of the laser without cryogen cooling, these comments reinforced my impression that Anu relies on personal beliefs and anecdotal experience rather than established, evidence-based protocols. This is particularly troubling because LHR already has well-established standards for both safety and effectiveness. Other notable issues: awful handling of appt rescheduling, lack of patient privacy (doors left open and being able to hear full convos) and staff being dishonest when asking to have a credit card on file by falsely blaming the system. Overall, I found Anu to be arrogant, careless, unprofessional, dismissive and overly reliant on her own judgment rather than established best practices. She provided a refund, but I can't get back my time or clear skin. I strongly recommend against seeing her.

I explained I had a less than desirable micro needling appointment in the past and she reassured me this time around would be more results-producing. She is gentle and friendly in the way she explains the entire process. She gave me some deliciously hydrating after care products to use and even reached out a couple days to see how I was doing! The recovery period wasn't bad at all and my skin looks brighter and smoother! From the beginning to the end, a positive experience all-round. I will be back for my next micro needling!

Anyways if you are looking for a great place to get your laser hair removal done, I highly recommend Tamra!

And I don't say much either, they are great at seeing which shape looks good on me + follow my natural growth. Even told them my problem/ sparse areas, so we are letting those grow out right now. However, I felt ripped off when I came for a chin wax and they were trying to say that the area pictured here counted as a neck wax. Now I'm not one for arguing so I agreed to pay the extra cost after asking while receiving the service what the heck the extra charge was for at the time, but what was even more ridiculous was that they only had charged me for the chin on previous visits for the same area. They shouldn't offer waxing if they aren't super excited about offering the wax and it wasn't worth $40. I liked the decorations when I went but staff demeanor was always so-so. Not truly welcoming. But again if you're purely interested only in the result and not the experience (or possibly getting ripped off) then this could be an ok place to frequent. I prersonally won't go again.

To tDouglas M- this is my reply to you! As someone who works in customer service, this review…read morehonestly reads less like constructive feedback and more like someone looking for something to be upset about. A short wait, a staff member stepping away, or a moment of confusion is normal in any business -- especially one that's clearly served you well for years. Most people understand that. What's disappointing is seeing a long, dramatic write‑up over something so minor, especially when the employees you're criticizing are real people doing their best. Turning a brief inconvenience into a public takedown doesn't make the business look bad -- it highlights how unforgiving and unrealistic some customers have become. If this is the worst thing you've experienced here after years of good service, that actually speaks volumes about the quality of the staff. Not every moment needs to be escalated into a Yelp saga. A little patience and basic empathy would have gone further than this review did.

I have been coming here for years, even when it was lunch box, and never had a problem, until now…read more So I'm giving them 3 stars but normally I would give 5 stars (if this was my first or second time, it would be 1 star and I would not return). I come in once or twice a year, usually before a beach type vacation to get my back waxed. They have always had someone at the front desk when I walk in, but not this last visit. Let me mentioned before getting into it, the place is always clean, the entrance, Hallway and wax rooms. The wax service is always fast, professional and as relaxing as it can be getting waxed. I never had a scheduling problem until now either. This last experience was not good. I arrived at 1030 my scheduled time, but no one was at the front desk, but I could hear someone talking on the phone in the room behind the desk. I waited 5 minutes figuring they would come out, but no, so I start to ask if anyone here? No response for 2-3 min, so I asked again, then a lady with black and purple hair comes out of the room and say someone will be right with me and turns back around into the room to continue to talk on the phone, as if I was bothering her at work!! Then a few minutes later, another person comes out from down the hall (I think she was actually with a client) and asked if I have been helped, I said no and told her my appointment was at 1030, she tells me the appointment was at 1040 (this was at 1042, already past my apparently rescheduled appointment) and said someone will be with me shortly. Then the other lady that was talking on the phone comes out from the room behind the desks. I sat there about 5 more mins until my wax person arrives, say sorry for being late, and gets ready (it appears they changed the appointment because the wax person was running late), they never told me they changed the appointment time (no text like all the other notifications, which I like from this place). The appointment was never changed on the website, only locally, maybe they just lied for her, and told me 10:40. Oh and no one ever came out of the room behind the desk after the phone call lady, while I was waiting for my room to be ready. It was clearly a personal call at work and she didn't want to be bothered at work. At the end, I still tipped, against my better judgement, a lower 10% rather that the usually 20%. The wax person was late, but apologized. I think I will return because up until this time it has been great, but not sure.
