I had a terrible LHR experience with Anu. I have extensive prior LHR experience due to PCOS (30+ sessions) and returned for treatment after hair regrowth following pregnancy. During my 2nd session, Anu increased the laser settings and made 2-3 passes over my face and neck, resulting in significant burns--the first laser burns I have ever experienced. When I raised concerns, she denied increasing the settings, claimed the marks were not burns, and attempted to lie despite my clear recollection. At subsequent appts, she never inquired about the burns, my skin condition, or treatment progress. She lowered the settings and continued making 2-3 passes each session. Since the burns, I have developed persistent hyperpigmentation and dark patches on my face that have lasted over 8 months. Even after my final session, I developed new dark spots on my upper lip after 3 passes. When I raised these concerns, Anu dismissed them as being due to my Indian skin rather than acknowledging that her technique was the cause, considering I've never had this happen before. Her treatment style also felt rushed and careless. The laser frequently fired on my ears, and during one session she unexpectedly treated my forehead without discussion, claiming she saw a hair, then stating it was actually a wrinkle from furrowing my brows. My final session was the most upsetting. After asking if she could reduce the cryogen cooling spray, she instead turned it off completely and performed the entire treatment without cooling. She claimed this would improve effectiveness and stated I should appreciate her effort. As a NP myself, this seemed questionable, so I researched it afterward. Cryogen cooling is a standard safety feature used to reduce the risk of burns and does not interfere with treatment efficacy. Operating the laser without it offers no clinical benefit and requires lower settings to avoid injury. Intentionally turning it off is negligence and malpractice. Settings must have been consistently low to allow 2-3 passes without burns, which explains my poor hair reduction when compared with previous providers. When I expressed my concerns, Anu defended her decision to turn off cryogen by citing personal experience and stating she'd done the same for others. She measured success by seeing surface hair singe during treatment rather than long-term hair reduction, which is the actual goal of LHR. Throughout our conversations, she was defensive, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility for the burns, pigmentation changes, or her deviation from standard protocols. Another issue was repeated misinformation. On multiple occasions, she told me that shaving causes hair to grow back thicker, stating this came from "old Indian beliefs." This is a well-known myth that has been repeatedly disproven. Given that LHR patients are routinely instructed to shave before treatment for optimal results, it is inappropriate to tell patients this myth and cause unnecessary anxiety. She also advised that finer hairs don't need to be shaved. This directly contradicts standard LHR guidance, which recommends shaving all treated hairs so the laser energy targets the follicle rather than surface hair. Taken together with the burns, pigmentation issues, repeated passes, and use of the laser without cryogen cooling, these comments reinforced my impression that Anu relies on personal beliefs and anecdotal experience rather than established, evidence-based protocols. This is particularly troubling because LHR already has well-established standards for both safety and effectiveness. Other notable issues: awful handling of appt rescheduling, lack of patient privacy (doors left open and being able to hear full convos) and staff being dishonest when asking to have a credit card on file by falsely blaming the system. Overall, I found Anu to be arrogant, careless, unprofessional, dismissive and overly reliant on her own judgment rather than established best practices. She provided a refund, but I can't get back my time or clear skin. I strongly recommend against seeing her. read more

Recently bought a Groupon for my husband and made sure to read all the fine prints. When I called and texted them to make the reservation I made sure to ask all the questions beforehand. Everything seem to be good so we agreed on a date and time, that was probably the only smooth part of the whole situation. For booking I was told to redeem my Groupon and send them the photo, which makes it nonrefundable at this point. So that became another issue. When we got there even though it was 15 mins early, we were no seen till 30 mins after the appointment time. When we were seen she said she was not able to do that treatment and cannot honor what I paid for or give me a refund. She said her price was only for women's because they don't do men usually. Even though I took the time to show her their fine print on their site and what was texted before our appointment, they still refused to honor it. And on top of that she said if I really wanted the treatment they can only do half of the treatments and I would need to pay double to get my full six treatments. The person doing the actual treatment was not nice at all. I feel like she wasted my time and money. I would never go back again. This just makes me not trust smaller clinics. read more

I found this Medspa on Groupon to continue my laser treatments for my underarms. I have done 8 treatments with Sev Laser and bought a pack of 6 treatments with Medspa California. The laser they use at Medspa California seems to have been much more effective than what I've used in the past. I've noticed the hair get finer and grows back much slower which is exactly what i needed. I am removing a star because my experience at this Medspa has been very mediocre. The owner seems to be the only one licensed to do any work. I understand she may see a lot of clients but my first visit with her she really got to know me which was nice, but by the fourth visit she would ask all the same questions then ask, "is this your first time here" and i said no "I've been seeing you for 4 months". In their system they put your appointment time but don't have any information about what you're there for. I've had to tell them what area I'm there for every time and the laser is never ready by the time of your appointment. My appointment time is never the time i actually get worked on. At Sev Laser i was in and out of there within 5 minutes. Here I'm waiting 20 minutes AFTER my appointment time to get helped. I also should not have to sign consent forms every time I'm there when i should have a client profile. I also understand upselling your products and services but suggesting ****unwarranted**** that I get Kybella to dissolve the fat under my chin or to remove skin tags (i have one small mole on my neck) or to get lip filler when i already have full lips after repeatedly saying i am only interested in the service I'm getting, can come off insulting. There is a way to sell your services without making it seem like the client NEEDS it. I'm grateful for the work of the laser and that alone gets 5 stars but if i were to rate the owner and staff it would be 3 stars. Booked a skin tag removal through Groupon. I called to confirm that it would be accepted and inquired about extra costs when I booked the appointment. I was assured that it was covered through the Groupon. When I arrived the receptionist took my Groupon and confirmed all my information. At check in the nurse was very kind, she confirmed that they'd be able to complete my service after a visual assessment. In the waiting area, they applied a topical numbing product while I was getting checked in. Once I was in the room, they used 2 different injections to numb the area. The service to be completed was on my scalp, so the nurse explained that she had to remove a bit of hair to be able to remove the skin tag. I was nervous, but I agreed and appreciated her clarity up until this point. She continued prepping the area, then asked if she could have the receptionist record the procedure for their socials. I said I wasn't comfortable with that and would prefer not to. She then said she would be right back and stepped out. When she came back she said that because the service was a surgical removal of a raised mole that there was now an additional cost of $100. I told her that I had confirmation from my dermatologist that it is a skin tag and also that I had already confirmed at check in and even when I called to book that there shouldn't have been extra charges. She said because of the numbing medication and extra steps it was going to cost extra. She then said "you know you can't get this kind of service for $30-$50, how much did you pay for your Groupon?" She argued that anywhere else this service would cost minimum $350 so I was getting a great deal, then she asked if I wanted to continue or just stop (after I had already been numbed, my hair had been cut, and I was there for over 30 minutes). I told her that I wanted to continue and I would pay the extra $100, but I also made clear that I thought it was misleading to advertise a service that cannot be completed with the Groupon. The service itself was quick and painless. The nurse continued to be kind and conversational, but it was awkward in the end. She walked me over to the reception desk and told the receptionist to do an add on of $100 after the receptionist said that she already processed the Groupon so I did end up paying $100 on top of the price of the Groupon. Overall, I am happy with the results, I got what I wanted, but be aware that there might be extra charges. I feel that I got charged extra because I did not allow the procedure to be recorded. read more

I booked on Groupon. This is not my first time with fillers. I got juvederm xc in my naso labio folds (smile lines) and Kysse in my lips. Booking the appointment was easy online. Then they emailed me to confirm my appointment. Dead silent until the day before. They texted to confirm and make sure that time still worked for me. Mind you, it's covid time so things are different... Mask up, come in and if there are too many ppl in the lobby (i.e. more than 1) you might need to wait in the hallway (its a big medical office building). They'll have you swish with anti-viral mouthwash, wash your face with this special soap, and complete any docs you need to complete. Then you'll head into your treatment room and wait a bit. The gal who runs the place (blanking on her name) is very nice, pleasant and professional. I appreciated her style and her scrappy attitude. She is trying to grow her business but isn't over-the-top. I have much respect for that. 45 mins total time there including the injections and everything else above and paying. Not bad. Most filler places it's an hour minimum PRE-COVID. So hats off to them for keeping the people and the exposure limited. I would 100% return. Im thrilled with the results. read more

All I can say is wow! During pregnancy, I developed a ton of skin tags on my neck. Every time I looked in the mirror, that was the first thing I noticed.   After calling around, I decided to go with Medspa due to their competitive pricing. After the consultation, I was able to stay and get the procedure done.  The procedure itself was pretty quick. First Anu helped me put on numbing cream, next a couple of shots in the general area, then the electrode machine zapped them. Within the first week after the procedure, the tags were falling off. This update is long overdue. Let me start off by saying if you plan to get your fillers from Anu, make sure you have a second set of eyes with you. This review is an update from my last review and based on the last visit I had with her. Anu is argumentative and if she doesn't like what you have to say, she will cut off you while trying to communicate with her and ignore you. Her bedside manner is non-existent!!! Very unprofessional! I will never again, come back here. I actually found another reputable Medspa who will treat you with respect and listens when you're expressing your concerns. When I first got my fillers from Anu, she said she would keep my price at $650 for a full syringe if I got my fillers every 6 months, which I did, (only because it was an offer I couldn't refuse). Well, that offer didn't last long. LOL When I came to see her three months ago (within 6 months from the last filler), she raised the price from $650 to $850.00. For that price, I can get my fillers anywhere. LOL Rule #1 in the medical field, once you drop a syringe on the floor, you are NOT to try to inject it into a patient!!! Anu dropped the second syringe of fillers on the floor and tried to inject it into my daughter's lips!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I had to stop her and tell her the syringe has been contaminated once it hit the floor. She first tried to argue with me saying it is okay. LOL And I said no, it's not, it's been on the floor and I would appreciate it if she used a new syringe. She then said, "if it makes you happy, I will use a new syringe." No duh! Like really?? Would anyone be okay with being injected with a contaminated syringe??? Highly unlikely. After she did my daughter's fillers, she did mine. And boy, it was so uneven!!! I looked so botched!!! I told her it was uneven and all she could say was "just tell yourself you look beautiful and you will be beautiful." Like really? Telling myself I am beautiful will not fix the uneven fillers she just injected!!!! I don't know if she purposely did that in retaliation, but I learned my lesson. I will never come back here. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!!!! read more

Anu is amazing! She knew how to go with my natural shape that enhanced them to give me a lip that looks natural to my face but still plump and juicy!! People always compliment me on my lips and how they don't look "fake" like others, which I love! It is so important to not look overdone but still look like you have that special sauce and Anu definitely gives you that sauce! I went for my second round as a touch up (half syringe) after 4 months of my first time ever and anu wasn't pushy to sell me the whole syringe, which I really appreciated. She took her time and made sure to use up every drop of that half syringe. I wanted a touch up because I loved that full bottom pout and I could tell it was starting to need a refill to get to where I like it. I could have waited another 2 months, no problem but I needed that bottom lip! Overall anu did a great job making me feel and look beautiful with the perfect lips. I highly recommend going here.
