My wallet weeps as another boba chain enters RI. For the longest time (until Charuma came into town), Providence failed to satisfy my boba addiction. Yes, it is an addiction when you spend more on boba than you do on groceries, and no, the options on Thayer St did not satisfy this addiction. Well mourn no more (except you, wallet)! You no longer have to drive to Worcester or Chinatown for the nearest Gong Cha. One of the most popular Taiwanese chains has finally come to RI. As far as grand openings go, they did an excellent job. The drinks have the classic Gong Cha taste, the service was very efficient despite every customer excitedly ordering enough drinks to develop diabetes in one sitting, and the staff was extremely welcoming. Another plus is this is the only boba shop in RI that doesn't send you on a scavenger hunt to look for parking as the plaza it is in has plenty. This growing influx of bubble tea chains in RI has really made me consider scheduling an appointment with my PCP for a check-up, but what a relief. You won't find any other chain that has the delicious Creme Brulee Strawberry Latte. I will be back, Gong Cha! read more

Wow if you like bubble tea from Kung Fu tea off of Thayer st. In providence near brown. Than you will love Gong cha bubble tea!!! Their bubble tea is rich and smooth packed full of flavor. You can tell this is made the right way! I love how they ask you how much sugar you like! Literally 20 percent to 100 percent. There's so many options besides tapioca boba that you can add into your drinks. I have not tried their waffle cakes yet but omg I seen someone order it and it looks delicious!!!
