    Taiyaki/Ice Cream Menu

I've been here twice and both times it was very good. The tart of the strawberry tasted amazing with matcha. The Ube Taiyaki was so good. Next time I am going to request to get it disassembled with a cup because I couldn't eat it fast enough. We also got to try the Oreo Taiyaki and the vanilla ice cream was very good as well. The staff is quick and friendly, and it's cool in there too. I'm excited to have a soft serve ice cream spot all year round!

Stopped by for the grand opening and it was not great. The customer service was not as pleasant as I thought it would be. For a grand opening I would have expected the workers to have an upbeat attitude or have a welcoming atmosphere. There was no welcome, thank you for stopping by, it was just what are you getting and here is the total. For being the only person there the wait time was a little long, maybe it's because their still new but I can only imagine if they had a long line how long it would take for a coffee to be made. The iced vanilla bean latte came out warm, if I have an ice coffee I'm looking for the coffee to be iced cold not lukewarm. The coffee spot is called "cafecito" meaning "COFFEE" and it just tastes like MILK, there was NO coffee flavor. It was so bad unfortunately I had to throw it away. I don't think I'll be back but it was nice to give it a try

Rating: 4.0 Came back to try the place after they changed the place to offer pastry and drinks. It's a cafe/breakfast spot/ice cream place that offers hispanic influenced menu and taiyaki ice cream. Since it's near the federal hill, Parking is not the easiest but they do have street parking nearby. Inside was mote decorated and looked nicer than I previously visited. They do have few seatings available for eating at the location. You order at the counter and everything else is pretty much self service. We ordered the lux crostada, house special lychee drink, and Nutella croissant cube. House special lychee drink was initially not mixed so I had to give it a good mix before actually trying. The taste was good and refreshing but I didn't really taste lychee and felt more like a mango drink. My lux crostada was good. Pretty much a lux bagel but on a croissant. It was pretty messy and might be better if they cut the croissant in half and stuffed the ingredients in between rather than placing all of it on top. The Nutella croissant cube was interesting. I had heard about the craze of cube croissant but this was the first time trying. It was pretty aesthetically but It was difficulty to eat as you had to cut them and Nutella bursts out when you cut them creating a whole mess. It was tasty and certainly did not skimp out on Nutella. It was a good portion and we could only finish half. Might be good to share with multiple people. The service was good and staffs were nice. Overall the place was pretty good but I think there are improvements that can be made still. The location is also a bit inconvenient and parking can be hard to find on busy days. Overall a solid breakfast/drink/ice cream spot around federal hill area.

Tuft & Taiyaki is a workshop held inside Helado Taiyaki. This workshop is a spin on paint and sip classes (artists provide step-by-step instructions to reproduce a pre-selected work of art while they drink wine or other beverages), I'll instead do tufting and get taiyaki. The tufting workshop is a 3 hour creative class that teaches attendees the skills needed to create their own tufted projects. All materials and equipment were provided, making it an all-inclusive experience for anyone looking to learn the art of tufting. I've been to RI's first and only taiyaki shop many times prior and is a really cozy and delightful ice cream shop. It was announced Helado Taiyaki's last day in Rhode Island is 09/15/24 so I knew August would be my last opportunity to take a Weekend Tufting Workshop. I registered on their website for Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00AM. The total was $90.95 which includes tax. Three days prior to the workshop, I received an email from Linette Lopez Torres recommending 5 designs for beginners. If a participant has a specific design in mind or would like freehand a design, they could respond back and she will take a look and see if it can be completed within the workshop time frame. Also if there is any specific colors that the participant would like to use, you can just let them know. I chose a flower and changed the colors and added a smiley face in the middle. On the day of the workshop, doors opened exactly at 11:00AM and our 5 work stations were set up. I first signed a waiver and then learned how to use the tufting gun, threading yarn, and tried a few lines before starting on my design. It took me a little while to get the hang of things, but then it was really fun and I was tufting along. The 3 hours passed by so quickly and I really am interested in tufting again. Once I completed my rug, I chose to pay an additional $25 for them to provide some finishing touches (they'll glue, apply backing fabric, and trim rug to give it a professional finish.) I'll get a text message when the rug is ready to be picked up. It was a truly personalized and intimate experience. The instructors were always available for assistance and were very patient. The workshop was really memorable. At the end of the workshop, I had the opportunity to get a taiyaki. I chose the xstrawdinary taiyaki that has vanilla soft-serve, strawberry jam drizzle, condensed milk drizzle, and custard filled taiyaki. It was so yummy. About 2 weeks after the class, I contacted Helado Taiyaki to inquire about my finished rug and they responded 15 minutes later saying it was ready. I came back on a Sunday afternoon to pick up my finished rug. It came out beautifully and I'm so happy with it considering it's my first time tufting. I also got the ube ice cream and it was delicious. I am so sad that Helado Taiyaki is closing on 09/15/24 and I will really miss their taiyaki.

The service was very friendly, the seating area was not sparkling clean but it wasn't dirty either. The ice cream creation reminds me of Instagram... looks cool in a picture, but in reality it's a mess. The fish cone bottom was served very warm, filled with soft serve ice cream which immediately melted down the cone and over my hands. I couldn't even get a picture fast enough before I was covered in dripping ice cream. It's just too messy. I had to eat it as fast as I could so I couldn't savor the creation. I ended up taking off all the toppings because it was melting away by the second. Sorry, but this was a miss.

The fish cones are super cute and very fun.

What a fun little take on an ice cream place. Came here after eating at Angelo's on the hill because we had heard it was a great great female, minority owned business that had a unique take on ice cream. We heard right. Upon entering the cute little, super busy ordering area, you get struck by how many options there are. There are five or six already existing choices of toppings and flavors, as well as a make your own option. I went with the Oreo, which had about six different other things mixed into it. For $5, this cup was a great value. The ice cream was top notch. The toppings were diverse and interesting with lots of different textures and tastes. I loved it. It's also a cute space to sit down and enjoy your treat. It was super busy at 6: 30 p.m. on a Sunday when it was 39° out... I'm sure it gets very busy when it's warmer so get in there early and get a feel for what you're going to enjoy. I could not recommend this place more highly. Super fun. Super tasty. Super value.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! They have a mix of bakery options and a range of flavors for taiyaki. The only other time I've had a cube croissant was at Lakon Pattissier in Boston, so seeing it was a pleasant surprise! Definitely going to grab one next time. As for the taiyaki, they should make a liquid IV version, I need this 24/7. It didn't feel like a race against time eating the ice cream of fear of it melting (like I struggled with at locations in Boston). Not to mention the generous size of the portion too! The rich flavor of the ube flavor was so potent, I might as well have bit into the potato itself, GOODNESS! The people who work there are so sweet and took the time to discuss the process and random flavors and toppings involved. They even sometimes host little events (like a stitching one when I visited the second time). Overall, the place is amazing and is 100/10!!!

The kids wanted to try the ice cream in the fish cones! All 3 of us enjoyed the ice cream and the yummy toppings. There were a few cute areas inside to take pictures and limited indoor seating. The location is convenient, on Federal Hill. This is a cute place to stop to celebrate a special occasion.

Have been following them on instagram and wanting to try their famous croissant cubes! Finally made it and was definitely worth it! Parking in that area is always horrible, no matter what day or time, prepare to drive around unless you want to pay at a lot. The shop is very cute, with a few tables so its not just take out. Went on a Sunday around 11:30 and was pretty busy in the shop; i waited a while for them to take my order but there seemed to be only 3 people working (2 in front one in back making hot items) so it was understandable. They were nice and attentive. I noticed they had chai latte on the menu, ordered one and it was so good! Only wish they had coconut milk or skim as an option (they do have almond and oat, plus reg milk). I ordered a biscoff cube and a guava/cheese pasty. Paid little over $30, which isn't cheap but they tasted so good, it was worth it! I will def go back! We

I am so deeply saddened that Helado Taiyaki will be closing its location in Providence! I only recently discovered this amazing little ice cream shop and I'm so disappointed in myself for not coming sooner!!! Their Ube ice cream with Oreo cookie crumbles was one of the best I have ever had! It was so delicious I was willing to come back for it a second time this week, but they sadly their last day was Sunday. I wish them the best of luck during their transition to Miami! They will be missed.

This place is so fun. Everything from the art on the wall down to the ice cream toppings are so unique. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area. You can choose from premade specialty cones or create your own fun creations. There is a seating area with a couch and tables and is just perfect for taking photos. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Really fun interior and decor! Friendly, accommodating staff who are ready to bring these delicious treats to life on order. Not too long of a wait, and good feels throughout. Each order is handmade with evident care and creativity! Swing through on a sunny or rainy day - the quality is amazing!

The ice cream was outstanding! Ordered the Maria Maria and the Strawberry. The design of the signature cones are very creative and appealing. The sitting area has artistic pop art murals on the wall. The service was attentive, fast, and friendly. The custard inner filling was delicious. The cone was soft like a firm waffle. The ice cream was sweet and airy. Looking forward to coming back to try the other flavors!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
