Environment: You can place your order at the counter or use one of their self order kiosks. Since we were super indecisive, we placed our order at the kiosk so we could look at ALL the options. I ordered the Earl Grey tea with boba and adjusted the sweetness to 25%, but it still tasted much sweeter than expected. The shop itself was pretty ordinary, and one thing that immediately stood out was a stuffy, old-air smell from the AC when I walked in. I've had this chain before in the Bay Area, but this location didn't leave much of an impression. There are other boba spots I'd choose over this one. That said, if you're already in the shopping plaza and craving boba, it's a convenient option--and I do prefer it over some of the other drink choices nearby. My favorite part was the Las Vegas sign display, which made for a fun photo with my drink. The shop is small, with just a few tables and chairs for seating. Tried the passion fruit green tea at Gong Cha and it was pretty good overall. It was a little sweeter than I expected and I couldn't really taste the tea, but the flavor was still refreshing. The drinks I've tried here are decent and fairly priced. I had the Grapefruit Green Tea with Star Jelly, which I later found out was peach flavoured. The peach flavour of the jelly overpowered the Grapefruit tea flavour a little, so I was a little disappointed, but it was still very refreshing! I like that they have a huge selection of drinks to choose from. I ordered the dragonfruit smoothie and was kind of disappointed because it didn't taste like dragonfruit. I've had Gong Cha in LA, so I was excited when we happen to see the sign driving in Vegas. The drinks were good and what I remember in LA, but the waffle pastry was super disappointing. The first time they made it, waffle was limp and never got the crisp shell. The dough also was dense. We asked them to remake it, which they did. The second waffle was better but still never attained the crisp shell. At least it wasn't super dense like the first time. read more

Back home on the east coast, gong cha is one of the better boba shops. Though boba is well established here on the west and I've found some of my favorites, I was still excited to learn that one opened up here. I stopped in on a Saturday night. I got the Three Js which is a packed milk tea with pearls, pudding and herbal jelly. My boyfriend got a crème brûlée drink. The crème brûlée was torched which stayed true to the dessert. It had a nice crisp and crunch to it which later dispersed into the drink and made for nice texture with each sip. I don't know anywhere else that does their crème brûlée drinks like this. I am convinced this location and probably the Rainbow location hoards the Felix cup sleeves and now, cards. Because what do you mean they ran out in one (1) day? The location never has more than 1 customer in there on a weekend or weekday. On top of that, the staff is rarely friendly. Overall: 3.2/5 (take out) We were walking through the plaza and saw that Gong Cha was having a grand opening special so we decided to stop in. We haven't had Gong Cha in years so it was nostalgic for us. Unfortunately their AC was broken so they were working on fixing it and fans turned on. The manager was nice and apologized to the customers for it and reassured everyone that the AC was being fixed. Large Peach Green Tea ($6.75) + Pearls ($0.75) + Star Jelly ($0.75) = $8.25 This was a pricey drink for a pretty average tasting fruit tea. We got it at 100% sweetness but it wasn't overly sweet, even with the extra toppings (the star jelly has a lot of sweetness on its own). Pearls were alright. For this price, I think there are other places that offer better fruit teas. For the BOGO, you get a medium regular milk tea or any of the yogurt drink. If you want toppings, you have to pay for it. Passionfruit Yogurt Drink ($6.50 - free due to promotion) + White Pearls ($0.75): They messed up our drink order and put regular pearls instead so I got it remade. I was sad that they didn't give me the messed up drink too since I already poked my straw in it. Such a waste to throw it away :( Anyways, the flavors were subtle and honestly, I felt like it's such a waste of money to buy these yogurt drinks. I love boba and was excited when Gong Cha finally made it to the city! It took over the location of one of my old favorite boba spots in Chinatown. I love how they have screens you can order from which makes it easy. They have a big Las Vegas sign inside which makes the location unique. I've been thinking of Gong Cha ever since I tried it in Boston a few years ago, so I'm super happy one finally opened here! The drinks are just as yummy as I remembered! I've been a few times now and have loved pretty much everything I've gotten. My go-to lately has been the yogurt drinks from the creative series. I recommend adding the star jelly to it. My only note, however, is I wish the yakult/yogurt flavor was a bit more prominent. The last time I went though I asked them if they could add a little extra yogurt but this drink really hit the spot on a hot day. The service has been amazing too! Initially, while walking in it was just like any other Boba shop, there were drink specials, but the one thing that I noticed was the pricing was a bit more expensive than what I usually is at other places. Assuming they have better quality products I don't mind but paying 8+ dollars for a drink was kind of surprising on my end.
