This being our first time ever going to a Boba Place, we wanted to make sure to go to one "of many" popping up in Visalia that had the best reviews from my fellow Yelper community. Gong Cha was the front runner; so we had to check it out! It was around 4pm on a weds, we arrived to a busy parking lot but as we approached the front door, the inside had but one guest enjoying what appeared to be a delicious drink. The front staff member was welcoming and greeted us as we came in, the other two staff members were more silent and stayed to themselves. The store's Ambiance is very nice, definitely somewhere you can sit and enjoy your drink without the outside world bothering you. Being a first timer, they do have a small menu board near the register that goes through each step on the ordering process. Plus they have a digital board on top; the one we looked at goes into more detail on how to build and order your drink. This time around my wife knew exactly the one she wanted to try, so we didn't need the help board "that much". My wife did get asked how much ice and how sweet she wanted it. She went with 50% ice and 50% sweet. Pro Tip: they do ask for ice amount and sugar amount, i.e. 0, 10%, 50% "which is the preferred amount in sugar" but I would personally say not the right amount in ice. Go higher amount in ice, it will melt quickly. But they even go to 100% in ice amount and sugar which is the most sweet. The drink came out to around 5 and change, 7 with the 2 dollar tip. I didn't feel like a drink this time around, but the price isn't too bad for a medium sized drink. The overall flavor was "good" not "great". The pearls are absolutely not needed for these drinks, they really don't do anything except add a texture to an already decent beverage that works fine on its own. The tea was a little watered down, the ice melted quickly from the time we got the drink to the time we got halfway home. The pearls didn't really have flavor. They were just kinda "there". But the Drink had the brown sugar flavor, it was nice! Nice enough to Definitely come back for another round and this time I plan on trying one of my own. Pro Tip: By The front Door they do have a "Mask Required" sign. Don't know if they're still following procedures for Covid, but we were respectful to keep our masks on. Definitely give this place a try if you're on Mooney and looking for a delicious tea or boba. read more

I am so happy they opened one of these in Tulare. Their strawberry marble is delicious! But if you want something not as sweet the strawberry earl grey milk tea is perfect! Their boba is always perfect! Their mango waffle bites are the perfect dessert not too sweet and very flavorful. read more

I was anxiously awaiting the opening of this business! Love this tea place and I'm so happy we now have one here in the area! The place is super cute!! Love their menu. Good variety of teas and smoothies and they even have a section available for coffee lovers. Employees were very helpful with the ordering process, polite and friendly. Inside seating is available. I ordered the taro smoothie with light boba and Earl grey foam milk tea with boba. They have sweetness and ice level adjustments you simply choose your level for each. I chose 50% for both drinks and they were perfect. This will definitely be our bubble place from now on :D read more

Ohhhhmygoodness, Gong Cha is finally open! This has been a topic of conversation ever since we saw the new signage a few months ago, and Gong Cha did not disappoint. As with any new opening, there are some snags with service and ordering, but the actual drinks are just as good as the other Gong Cha locations I've been to in the Bay Area. The regular teas are flavorful and robust, with oolong being my hands down favorite. With the milk teas boasting of the same teas with milk added in, the tea flavor still stands up to the creaminess. I like the milk foam, though it tends to be heavier than the simple milk teas. The toppings are made very well, and my favorites are herbal jelly and white pearls. I'm super happy with the ability to customize my drinks, and 30% sweet with 30% ice is usually my go-to to make sure the tea flavor stays robust without the drink being too sweet. I also really like the spaciousness of the inside, and there are quite a few tables for customers to hang out at while waiting for their drinks. The staff all wear masks and are all super nice. I've already bought a slightly embarrassing number of drinks here, and I'm sure that trends will continue. read more

The creme brûlée soft top is quite the treat. IVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE IT. It feels like a real creme brûlée but better because you can sip the top or tilt your cup until you can sip the perfect ratio of tea/and soft top. This creme brûlée soft top was sweet and DID have a crackly sugary caramelized top that the OG creme brûlée typically is known for. It's so amazing drinking this and getting a small chunk of caramelized goodness. It may sound off putting but I swear the texture makes so much sense once you have it. I kind of can't stop thinking about it! I got it with a lychee tea but personally I'd pair it with a green tea with less sugar because hey baaaalance. read more

Visalia is not known for its wide variety of boba places. Sure there's some places that offer smoothies with boba pearls in them, but there's only 1 such place (that I know of in all of visalia, and tulare and the surrounding towns) that can be truly called a boba shop, and it's gong cha. Coming from the LA area, inland empire area and even bakersfield area where there are as many boba shops as there are gas stations (not so much in bakersfield, but at least there's options there too), I'm glad that there's at least one boba shop in Visalia. I thought that since there's only 1 boba shop in town, it would be sub par due to the lack of competition, but I was delightfully surprised that this place actually has not only a good selection of drinks and toppings, but that it actually tastes pretty good too. We've ordered multiple drinks from here over several months time, and they've all been good. Yesterday was the first time I've been in the store. And it was pretty nice. Large indoor area where you can set up to study or read while sipping on a drink. Tasteful music in the background. Quick customer service with drinks being made in less then 5 minutes. They even let you customize the amount of sweetness and ice in the drink, which is how it's mainly done in the LA area, so that's nice. If this shop was in LA, with all the other great boba shops it would be a solid 4 star. But considering it's all by its lonesome in Visalia, it's really good quality boba and drinks. I am SOOO happy to see a boba place back in Visalia! I love boba tea so much and I was not disappointed! Very nice modern layout, super spacious, and the employees were kind and helpful when explaining the menu. AND I got my drink rather quickly! Forget the second rate boba from the poke places in town and come here. Visalia's first legitimate, dedicated boba spot. The drink I ordered was an Oolong Tea with milk foam and boba. The boba is perfectly chewy and freshly made. The tea has flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. And that's something you'll get here that you won't get anywhere else in town: fresh boba, real tea, and the ability to customize how sweet you want your drink. Their menu selection is large too and I look forward to trying as much of it as possible. I'm here at their opening. It's as busy as you might expect. If you come now when it's brand new, please show the employees some compassion and patience as they get into the swing of things. That said, everyone who works here is patient, kind, and willing to explain things if you have any questions. The place is also impeccably clean. This place is becoming slightly addicting! I recommend studying the menu before you go so you don't hold up the line like I did initially. My 11yr granddaughter gets the strawberry milk (minus the tea) and she adds the star jelly w/ extra syrup. That's her favorite! So far I've tried the brown sugar milk tea with boba (of course), matcha milk tea with boba, taro root milk tea w/boba and the QQ passion fruit green tea with boba and coconut pearls. I would say the taro milk is my favorite so far, but honestly they are all amazing! I go with 50% ice with my milk teas, but I'll definitely go 75% on the passion fruit green tea, and any other hot teas in the future. I felt like 50% isn't a good choice, for me anyways. I went to the grand opening two weeks ago. I was in line for over an hour and it took around two hours to get my drinks because they ran out of boba and didn't tell us. Off of that experience I wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered four drinks to share in between my husband, my kids and myself. We agreed that we only really liked one and the rest were okay. I did try to order out of our norm just to try the menu out so that could've been why we didn't really enjoy the rest. Also on one occasion I ordered the creme brulee mochi waffle and though it looks nothing like the menu picture, it was pretty good. Now, I must admit, I have gone quite a few times since they opened. Only because there's hardly ever a line and the drinks come out really fast. I like to try out most of the menu to find my favorite drink. Thus far it's the brown sugar cloud. My kids love anything with the star jelly. Moving on to a issue I have. The lack of milk free/ lactose free options. When I looked at the menu it seems like you can customize a drink to not contain milk but when I asked the person at the cashier what lactose free options they had he told me the mango smoothie was the only option. My smallest son is lactose intolerant and that makes me sad he only has one option on the whole entire menu. I also have heard the cashier telling other customers asking about milk free options that the mango smoothie is the only option. I'm very excited that Visalia has a dedicated boba shop though I do wish they had more lactose free options. read more

Had an amazing and great time here at gong ChA i'm an old guy not really sure what all this boba stuff is about haha so I went into here with my granddaughters one day because they love to get the Boba and things have been rough since Sheryl (My EX Wife) left me and Now I try to get out of the house with the Granddaughters and take them to have fun. I love this place!!!! The QQ passion fruit green tea with extra coconut is my favorite! I tasted my friend's strawberry milk with pearls and it was good but I can't get over the coconut jelly and passion fruit flavors together.
