I called all around the homestead area for help, the dealership was backed up by 2 weeks before they could even perform a diagnostic. Another shop (Pedro) turned down my issue and instead recommended me to Jose Gonzales. So I called Jose and spoke to him on the phone, he said to bring the car and he'll fix it. Once I got there he said give me the keys and I'll call you when it's done. I was confused because he didn't even do a diagnostic yet. But he had a big team with him everyone working hard and turning wrenches. I thought I would be out of a car for a week or two so I called my insurance about a rental lol. Literally just an hour and a half later he called me to tell me it's fixed!! I will be going back and referring anyone to Gonzales for future car issues. He's been in the business over 30 years as the owner there and moved down from the Midwest. A respectable gentlemen who is fluent in both Spanish and English. An earlier review said the shop was racist... I am neither white, black nor Hispanic/latino but I felt right at home and sensed ZERO racism. I also used the bathrooms which were cleaner than any other auto shops bathroom I've used before and that's saying a lot lol. I visited the shop for a flat tire and this time they charged me almost twice as much as a few days before, they do not have a price list for labor for their services and the owner charges whatever he wants depending on the person and the car, it is a way of discrimination charging for services based on the client's appearance. read more

For years we had been loyal customers but that changed yesterday when I had the most unpleasant and horrifying experience with my Yukon, which I took in to have them replace the ignition switch; instead, I ended up with my brand new dashboard off it's console, crazy glue globs everywhere, grease stains. I complaint immediately but they are refusing to refund me. Now I have to invest in having the damages repaired.I have already filed a complaint with the Dept of Consumer Protection Services and any of you with a serious complaint should probably do the same at https://www.fdacs.gov/ and also with the Better Business Bureau. We (my daughter and I) went in for an alignment for our 2019 Kia. Took 45 minutes and we paid cash to not have to pay the extra 4% for credit. Drove off and the car drove exactly the same. Came back immediately and he claims oh it's the tires let me rotate them for you. Waited a while and he comes back hands us the keys and says all done. We drove off and it's still exactly the same. We speak to them saying this and they say no you're wrong it's straight you don't know what you're talking about the car is perfect. I said I'm sorry but it steers to the right a-lot to the point of almost crashing into the cars on the right if you don't hold tight to the steering. But no he says it's perfect. We decide to all take it for a drive so he can see what we are talking about and he drives it and says what as he lets go of the steering wheel and almost crashes into a fence and car on the right. I said you see? He said oh all cars do that all of them. No sir, not all cars do that otherwise what is an alignment for? Then he proceeds to tell me that my problem is I talk too much and I'm overweight. Excuse me?! My daughter goes in and gets a partial refund because he wants me to be quiet already and go somewhere else. What an experience. My blood pressure is so high right now. We just got out of there. I called Tony Gonzalez and he made arrangements to take care of the problem in my town. It was a minor issue and he took care of it without making me drive back. I went there not too long ago and the mechanics are unique when it comes to knowledge, the two owner and managers are special people who are always willing to help you and get your problem fixed as soon as possible. The mechanic that took care of me, named Livan was super helpful and knowledgeable about what was going on with my car and took care of it like it was his own car and at the end when I went to pick up my car he told me what to do in order to keep it working 100 percent, however; I recommend this shop and specially Livan as your mechanic but definitely my shop for life. We had a screw in our tire, being new in the area we went to Firestone, they couldn't be bothered and sent us to an auto store not far from them, they were too busy to help and sent us to Gonzalez Auto on Flagler. We walked in, told them what we needed and within 15 minutes drove away with a fixed tire. We have found our new mechanics. We have been going there ever since. The owners are amazing and the mechanics know their stuff. They have a great sense of humor and are an honest shop. I recommend this shop every chance I get. We came from a recommendation from a friends cousin. I was under the impression that this was as a friendly place but all I saw was rage and disappointment from the beginning. Before we came to the spot, we was interacting with the cashier who was pretty rude, responding in a not so polite manner. This lady was clearly grumpy and wasn't the easiest to talk to. Multiple phone calls of her leaving us on hold or giving us a hard time. Then the mechanic working on our car guided us multiple times to places that do not exist what so ever. It impressed me that we was put in this kind of predicament to begin with. This man was clearly not paying attention to our cries for help. We needed to find a pump but he was getting a vague idea of what we needed and it was disappointing. The lack of information caused so much chaos and frustration from us. this place is rude, lacks courtesy and is not the place I recommend whatsoever. read more

This is one shop that i would never take my Dodge Charger not even for free service. On March 3rd 2021 I took my 2011 Dodge Charger to have my ABS check engine light. One of the mechanic test drove my car for longer that it would take a trip to Miami. He came back and stated that the ABS sensor was defective and also added that the engine main seal was damaged and it would cost $750.00. to change it. I did not believe it had a damaged seal since the vehicle had less than a hundred thousand miles. I then asked him to change the faulty sensors that I would think about replacing the seal. When I came back to pick up the Charger Mr Gonzalez gave me a bill for $465.45. he said for scan ($65.00) $210.00 labor and $160.00 for two rear ABS sensors. To make this review short I took my Charger to Nica USA auto service to have the alleged damaged oil seal checked, the mechanic found the seal in good condition, no damage the oil leak was coming from the oil cooler which is located near the rear of the engine. Nica USA replaced the oil cooler ($140.00) and also replaced the two front ABS sensors ($50.00) labor was (140.00) Total cost $330.00 the shop also added the oil cooler gaskets at no charge. I consider the Gonzalez Auto Center not as knowledgeable and a Rip Off. they failed to diagnosed the problem Charger properly and if i would have agreed to change the main seal it would have cost me another thousand dollars and still have the same issue. If you are not mechanical inclined or if you are a woman for sure you'll get the Royal shaft. I myself have experience I have worked around cars, motorcycles and currently Mechanical, Electrical Engineer as well as rebuilt mini turbines Hydraulics Pneumatic components and I try and pay so I don't get my hands greasy. If you like giving your hard earned money away. that's your right, if you don't, Shop Around. read more

Not only do they not know what theyre doing, they will take as much money as they can off you. Took my mustang in over an overheating problem. Paid them $400 to replace a few things that didnt fix the problem. They said its the headers and it will cost around $1100 to replace. ON TOP OF THAT, as im leaving AFTER i payed, they said they changed the oil and i have to pay an extra $22. I never told them to change my oil!! Took my mustang to another auto center and fixed the problem for $350. Had nothing to do with the headers. Never going to gonzalez JOKE center again. read more

My audi a4 was having an issue every time i put gas it would turn off. The worker said he would take a look, comes out and says he fixed the problem... all he did was put oil and coolant and charged me 25!!!! They are scammers and dont fix anything!!!! My car stayed with the same problem. If you are a GIRL they automatically think youre clueless so they will over charge you be careful!!! Similar experience as other reviewers. Took my 2002 Firebird in for a Brake pad replacement. Also asked to check my power steering for leakage. Came back, they did the brake job fine and all. But then tell me that the whole Power steering pump needed to be replaced as well as my rack and pinion. All lies. My rack and pinion are fine and after doing the check myself turn out to just be a $19 P/S hose I needed to replace. Went in for a noise in my front alignment. Was quoted $400 for several things. I took the quote to my mechanic and he lifted my car and pointed out to me how none of those things needed to be replaced and the only thing that did need to be replaced was supposedly fine according to Gonzalez. This auto center made me want to pull my hair out of my scalp. It was frustrating trying to get in touch with someone. I just wanted a paper bill copy sent through the mail for my records and some basic updates on the work and time frame. These shouldn't have been difficult requests. The work I had done was pricey and I felt like everything was made harder because the employees were dragging their feet and never wanted to give me a straight answer on what exactly was wrong and the costs to repair it. It was just frustrating. That's the best word to describe my experience. read more
