Here's a fun update... it's been 8 days since I picked up my car (and traveling for 5 of those days without driving my car), and I'm sitting in the parking lot of a Circle K, waiting for another tow... because, you guessed it, my transmission has done the same thing it did before I brought to AAction. I would have guessed the ink on 1-year warranty would have dried before I'd need to use it. Sadly, that isn't the case. Now, I'll need to pay to rent a car for another multi-day stint with AAction. One year and one month to a transmission rebuild the transmission is failing. They only cover for one year $4000 dollars later and the transmission is having issues again. Do not I repeat do not go here. It was highly recommended by a friend, they were wrong. It was not a cheap job and they half assed it. I'm looking into jasper installers or another company. Save your money go elsewhere. Additionally, the transmission pan is leaking they just siliconed the hell out of it and crossed their fingers. Charged me 150$ for a 30 dollar transmission filter, wanted 169$ to do an assessment. In all the transmission service was 550$. Whoever says on yelp that they got help from this place for 150$ I don't see how. They want 170 just to look at your vehicle. Had my car brought in for a slipping tranny. They wanted to replace the entire transmission ($4,000) with OEM parts and said aftermarket parts weren't an option. (They are). I just spent 45 minutes writing a 5 Star a review of the excellence I received at Action Transmission on Commerce Lane in South Miami. It however seems to have failed to post. Frustrating like most things. I do not have time now to go back over all that previous post entailed. However I would be remiss if I did not make sure that Jose gets the recognition he deserves because my visit to him was anything but frustrating!!!! For once I experienced joy!! Short version: Jose was able to, within 15 mins of my arrival, resolve my situation & have me back on the road safely. It took him a mere 2 mins to look & put his finger on the problem (literally). I had already been to the dealer. They said they could not fix immediate problem. I needed to leave the car for at least a week & the fix would cost~$3600. Jose did it in 2 minutes. Did not charge me a thing. He said if I brought car back he could check & see what caused it. Because of all the confidence he gave me by skillfully & without much thought resolving that problem which was related to the same issue I had for months being trying to get diagnosed at the dealership with no luck for over 6 visits, I decided to back for his diagnosis. I chose to do the work there because of my faith in Jose and the owner Les. I was told upfront how much the parts cost which had to be ordered from Lexus-motors for convertibles on a model they haven't made in over 5 yrs are not around. I was given a time frame. I brought the car in on Tuesday was told Saturday. I already knew it was labor intensive and it did take to Monday @11am. However the labor rate & # of hours was lower than the dealership so I saved about $600 from what dealer estimated. I liked dealing directly with Jose. He is trustworthy & an excellent mechanic, motor specialist extraordinaire! Les kept me appraised of everything. I got referral recommendations also on other items I wanted to upgrade. Brought in my Honda Civic due to shuttering and stuttering between 10-40 mph. Oscar test drove my car and let me know that it was a torque converter and transmission issue. Very poor service I took my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix up there had the transmission rebuilt just started fully driving the car transmission temperature reads 228 degrees Fahrenheit the transmission shift hard and now the car will not drive when it's in drive I have to put it in drive to for the start rolling and drive then switch it back to regular drive for the drive I called the shop cuz they told me I had a warranty for till next year June they told me to bring $100 and my car the hundred dollars was for parts in fluid.
