Went in for an emergency shave down for my standard poodle! They were able to accommodate my last minute appointment at 9am. LIFE SAVERS!!! The cut was nothing elaborate because she was going to the vet for her yearly shots & to check on a skin condition from a allergic reaction! Only thumbs down is due to me asking for red or pink nail polish for her and she came out with PURPLE NAILS and they were done very messy and incorrectly. I didn't want to complain due to them doing me such a solid favor at the last minute for my baby girl. I also plan on continuing to go there due to the convenience near my home! Have to agree with the negative reviews. Dirty, careless and negligent. Not to mention how nasty they are to their customers, even long time ones. 9 times out of 10, they will nod their head at any requests or comments and then completely ignore it all. What we have personally observed many times: you have to call to ask if your dog is ready (even when they tell you 4 pm and you call at 4 pm), and only THEN they will begin. Grooming time spent on your dog will be about 5 minutes maximum, so it's no wonder that they miss stuff, or the one leg is only groomed partially or the sanitary area is untrimmed. Don't believe any responses from Xiaowen. I'm sure this review will get a lashing from her denying it all. For purposes of safety (after being personally threatened by her after we showed her where there were gross issues with the "haircuts," I will not reveal fur babies' names), but I can assure you that we brought our dogs here. I have been going here for many years! Priscilla was the previous owner and she has a huge passion for my kids!! She always showed love and care for them and constantly gave tips and recommendations on how to help my shihtzu's dandruff. I use to go to petsmart but they are so overpriced. I have two Maltese and a shihtzu's and all of their grooming and cut costs me a total of $100!! So reasonable and affordable. I met the new owners and she is very very friendly! She also shows the same passion for pets as well. So this place is small and it doesn't look all fancy, but it doesn't matter!! If you love your pets, take them here! First experience has been pleasant. I brought my dog in for a bath. I liked the fact they didn't cage him as he's super friendly and he's able to socialize. I have a Pom and his hair was so fluffy when I picked him up. The price was fair for a bath. He was happy after I picked him up so that's always great. The only reason I took a star away is because it took so long just for me to be able to get an appointment. I had literally been trying for weeks! My dog loves this place as much as I do! You cant beat the prices at this shop, compared to other groomers you are getting one heck of a deal here! My yorkie has also received many compliments on his grooming from here. I love how every time he gets home from here he is exhausted from all the playing so I know he definitely had a good time! The owner of this place is also great, she always gives me great advice on my dog seeing as this is my first real pet. And I have a comment on Ashley's bad review...you shouldn't be standing out there watching your dog get groomed because it only excites the dog and it makes it 10 times more difficult to groom. And the only reason they put a muzzle on your dog is because she probably tried to bite the groomers and for their own safety they have to muzzle the dog. I've visited this location many times and have seen dogs bite the groomers so its not like they muzzle all dogs, only dogs who require it. read more

I called to make an appointment on Monday and managed to get an appointment slot on Tuesday. I dropped my dog at 8.15am and was able to pick him up at 11.30am. My pup was very well-groomed and he smelled good. The grooming cost was reasonable and definitely cheaper than other grooming shops which I called to enquire. They had bathed him but cut was poorly done. I noticed they had too many dogs there to groom. She charged me $27 instead of $35. I took my dog to be boarded over the weekend while I flew home to visit family and, although the experience wasn't horrible, I don't think I'll be going back. The woman behind the counter was very nice, but the business lacked in professionalism. When I dropped my dog off, the forms I filled out were printed on the backs of what looked to be old college notes - physics papers, etc. I asked about picking him up first thing Monday morning, as I needed to go to work, and was asked to pay in cash since they don't turn the credit card machines on until about 8:15 a.m. So that was fine. I filled out the paperwork, asked them to trim his nails and left. When I returned on Monday, however, I was told they hadn't gotten to trimming his nails, and the woman who did that wouldn't be in for another half hour. I needed to get to work, so had to ask them to forget it. When I went to pay (in cash, as requested) they didn't have a cash register on hand. Instead, the women working there had to make change from their own purses. Then it came time for them to bring the dog out to me. After describing him to them a couple of times - his coloring, etc. - they went back to get him but had trouble determining which dog was mine. After holding a couple of dogs up to show me, they finally reunited me with my dog. My dog seemed to be in good spirits when we got back - he's a nervous guy, so boarding him is always kind of tricky - but he was very thirsty. He went straight to his full water bowl, drank the entire thing, then went on to continue drinking once we filled it again. I'm not sure whether that was nerves - simply being glad to be home - or whether he hadn't received enough water over the weekend. I try not to board my dog too often - not unless I absolutely have to - but do need to do so again soon. I'll be looking for someplace else this next time around. read more

I used to take my dog to Petsmart then Petco for grooming. However, each time I take her, both Petsmart and later Petco would increase their fee by $5-10 each time until it was almost $100 the last time I took her. It was ridiculous. It's not as if they were cutting her hair any better each time. Then I was referred to Good Dog who only charge me about 1/3 of what I was paying Petsmart and Petco and they groomed my dog just as well, if not better. I've also since boarded my dog there several times. Keep in mind though Good Dog is certainly no "5 star dog hotel" but unless you want to pay $500 a night, Good Dog's boarding services is well worth what they charge. read more

Once when I walked my dog in my community, my neighbor suggest me to go here. I went home and Yelp this shop then decided to try it once. Wen is very professional and nice. She transformed my little baby dog to a super cute doggie. You know what?! I started bringing my baby Riley here for Doggy Daycare after she got her head stuck in her kennel (very traumatic). Her owner (my step-grandfather) recently passed away and she is used to living in the country so she is still adjusting and they are super accommodating of her extra needs at this time. She gets to hang out in the front with the owners and they give me very thorough updates on her behavior when I pick her up after work. They also have super cheap grooming rates as well as boarding rates. Nonetheless, the quality is impeccable. I've seen a lot of the newly groomed pups (my baby is short haired so nothing fancy for her) and they are SO CUTE. This is not a super fancy shop though, just a hole in the wall establishment of people who love dogs! I love how straightforward they are with dog behavior too. It's very homey and less intimidating for my shy pooch. If you are looking for a great dog daycare for a shy, less active dog, this place is perfect. I love this place and so do my little darlings! They come back clean and groomed to the nines everytime, and you can't beat the prices here. The owners seem very passionate about the dogs, and they do keep an eye on all the dogs that are dropped off. The location of the place looks a bit dingy and the inside reeks of urine and dander, but what do you expect from a grooming salon? I usually drop my pups off in the morning and pick them up in the evening once they're ready. They get to mingle with other dogs in the meantime instead of being locked up in a cage. read more

My brother brought his dog in for grooming yesterday and when we got her back hours later she could NOT open her right eye. The worker there said it was because she has allergies. I think we would know if our dog has allergies. He would not admit that they poked her eye or hurt her somehow. My Yorkie Payden and I LOVE this place. I recently moved here from Atlanta and was nervous about taking my little guy to a new pet spa. I found this place on Yelp and went to preview the place. I was pleased by how clean the establishment and friendly the staff was upon each visit. Oh and his puppy cut was super cute, just had to have them trim a few areas (my personal modifications). (They did screw up once and mixed up the orders with a dog of a similar name and cut her hair too short, but they didnt make me pay.) The place isnt as tidy as you can imagine and sometimes smells, but they do a great job and my dog loves coming here. She gets to play with the other dogs as well. I've been coming here for a few years, never really had a problem until today. Yesterday I had brought my dog Joey in for a bath. After picking up my dog I noticed he was squinting his eyes all the time, and called the shop, the person told me it was most likely due to shampoo issue and that it should be resolved within a short time. Come morning it did not resolve and I took my dog to the vet and he was diagnosed with corneal ulcer, that was due to the groomer getting shampoo in the dogs eyes and not washing it out. The vet had done a corneal stain and identified that both of my dogs eyes had significant amount of shampoo in them, which was causing the issue. I had my vet do a write up and took it to Good dog grooming shop to ask them for taking responsibility of the bill, thinking this would be resolved in a reasonable manner, but what happened next was something I did not expect. They started to give excuses, that it was somehow partly my fault and making up any excuse not to take responsibility and avoid liability. I'm more disappointed than anything, the vet bill was $180 and considering the amount of stress and damage they caused it was the minimal of what they should have done. If you want to have a strictly business relationship to save a few bucks, and to risk your dog then bring them here, but don't put any trust in these people because they don't care about customer relationship when a problem comes up. What's sad is that we are both native Chinese speakers and you (Good Dog) just making us look bad. Being petty about small money and gaslighting a long time customer really showed me how the owners are. I noticed another review the owner also had a issue with their dogs eyes, so it's not the first time it happened and their response is the same, make some excuse instead of apologising and owning up to their mistake. I hope this review will make others aware of what kind of shop owners we are dealing with, I hope they prove me wrong but as far as it is this is the worst experience I've ever had with a groomer. Also they make you sign a liability waiver so if something Bad happens to your dog it's not on them. read more

I have been here a couple of times. This one of the few places near Sugar Land that has self-serve wash, so I do come here when my dogs do need a wash. The place definitely serves it's purpose, and I've never had a big issue with owner of the shop. She's always been pleasant. The only negative I see is the wash area also serves as a play area when they are not busy so dogs run around in that area sometimes so it can smell of pee at times. The cleanliness could use some minor improvements, but nothing appalling. I have left my dogs there for grooming once or twice, and they never seem traumatized when I come to pick them up. Do. Not. Take your dog here. We brought ours in as a birthday treat because we figured it would be nice for her to play with other dogs. While she was there, we told them to give her a bath. (A fine Happy Birthday, indeed.) The place itself is pretty sketchy and reeks of urine. I suspect they just let the dogs go to the bathroom in the "day care" room, which is not much more than that, a room, rather than taking them out for some relief. When we picked up our dog. She would not let us pet her. I suspected she was just mad at me for leaving her. The next day, he laser eyes still cut through me as she seemed to imply "No touching!". On the third day, she winced and out of instinct went to nip at me when I touched her. Hmmm...Even a Capricorn doesn't hold a grudge this long? By day four she had little scabs on her skin but was not itchy, so that ruled out most allergens. Feeling like I was being "that" overprotective owner, I decided to take her to the vet even if nothing else but to calm my nerves. The doctor immediately diagnosed her with a skin infection and the culture verified the findings. He said he has seen this before when groomers do not sterilize their equipment and brushes. $500+ in bills, 10 days of pain killers, and on our way to pickup days 20-30 of her antibiotics later, we will not take, nor recommend any one take, their furry friend to this establishment. read more

We take our Lhasa poo here for regular groomings. We always get a teddy bear cut, with about 1/2 inch of hair still on the body per my request. That's what I like about this place, they ask you exactly how you want your dogs hair cut for the ears to the face to the tail. And they have always gotten it right ! My dogs hair comes out soft, smooth, and smelling fresh each time. He comes out healthy too! He is always happy and not at all traumatized. I think it's cute that they put a bandana on him too as a souvenir. What's most convenient for me is that I can drop off my dog in morning before work at 7am and pick him up after work at 5 or 6. People here are nice and I have been taking my dog here for about a year now. For the past few months things went horribly wrong with this place, but I kept coming back because of their good price. Let me tell you, after the last horrific incident I don't think I will ever take my dog here again. When I first took my dog here for grooming they did an excellent job and even gave here a nice headpiece/clip. Then, her haircut slowly get sloppier and uneven everytime. I never complained about it to them. Yet, always give them a tip out of politeness. Majority of the time when I pick my dog up from boarding she would be so worn out and thirsty like she hadn't drank for days. Her tear stains were so bad with eye boogers all stuck to her hair. A week ago, I picked her up from a 4-day boarding. I knew she was sick the moment I looked at her. Her eyes were droopy, watery, tired, and just out of energy. She had diarrhea nonstop as soon as we came home. It wasn't just any regular diarrhea. It was bloody diarrhea the whole next day. My vet bill was $185. Totally not worth boarding my dog here ever again. P.s my friend also took her dog the previous week and had warned me about her dog having ring worm. I didn't think anything of it at the time. Cant get any cheaper than this place and also one of the few places in westchase to offer doggie daycare for large dogs as well as small breeds. They are also open 7am to 7pm and accept credit cards. Open weekends but holidays vary. They also offer boarding and grooming services. Now a few cons.. its indoor only and limited shop space to run around. Sometimes after boarding my dog smells like hes been sitting in pee and if they have too many dogs that day..your dog will be rotated and put in kennel. Also if you have an expensive leash, take it with you. One of their customers took my retractable leash. The shop did replace with a similar version. I love how the workers see my dog and know him right away by name. read more
