They require $350 of training classes up front in addition to these fees and vet expenses. The dental info is not forth coming and could become a large liability since they reserve the right to remove the dog at their discretion for the life of the pet. They, also, will guarantee heart worm status. In addition, they do not hold a non-profit status. That says a great deal right there. One more insight, at the end of one of their handout about nutrition, they accuse vets for taking money for food recommendations. This is far from the truth, vets receive a discount from most pet food companies for personal pets, only.

They decided to back out gave him to another family Long My wife and I made the wonderful decision to want to grow our family this year. We have been looking for dogs for awhile. After much deliberation and research, we decided an Italian Greyhound would be an excellent fit for the many needs of our little family. We spent time searching for an Italian Greyhound we could rescue, even contacting breed-specific rescues. Even though we are ideal applicants, we were told that these rescues are not receiving the same influx of greyhounds they used to, and we would be waiting YEARS if we were even lucky enough to get one at all. Within 24 hours of this correspondence with this other rescue, they contacted us. They said they had information of an Italian greyhound coming to the state through a different rescue. We were so grateful for their help and felt this was a special, clandestine experience we were having to grow our family. We placed our applications in minutes, called to confirm our family's application, and after a week of waiting I received a call that we were selected. This meant the whole world to our small family and felt like a calling from the universe. Instead, I received radio silence the next day... and was then followed by an email that they would be instead giving the dog to another family , even after we confirmed that we were selected. Why? Because another family (the foster) apparently was more deserving. What a heartbreaking decision by this company. After we have done everything right... the long hours of research, the arduous application, all the hard things to just simply want to grow our family taken away. How can an organization choose to get people's hopes up and break their hearts by saying we "made it"... only to just take it away. It isn't right or fair.

YAY! I get to finally write a review on 4P4L!!…read more We found 4P4L due to a Petfinder search back in 2021. The dog we initially adopted wasn't good with our cats even though he was fine in his foster home with the resident cat. 4P4L understood and we were able to return him. They had asked me to write an updated bio for him so that potential adopters would get a better understanding of his demeanor. He was such a sweet dog but my cats weren't his thing, which wasn't his fault in the slightest. I wrote the bio and he got adopted. I was then asked to volunteer and become a foster, so we started fostering. A 3 day sleepover for a foster pup is how we started and since 2021, we have fostered over 100 dogs and volunteer at adoption events. While it is so tempting to adopt all our fosters, we know we're just helping them adjust to home life. There have been a few that we invoked the 6 month rule: if we have the pup for 6 months, we would adopt him/her because at 6 months, you're a part of our pack. Last month, there was a need to foster these 2 rottie pups because it was time for them to separate from their momma and momma needed a break. Rotties are one of our preferred breeds! Well, we invoked the 6 DAY rule knowing that the pups would be adopted within the week. So that's it! That's how we got our Saoirse! Even if you cannot adopt, please think about volunteering with us or becoming a foster! A little weekend break from the kennel is what all the dogs need and you may just invoke your own 6 day rule!!

So SOMEHOW, SOMEONE here at Yelp took away my ORIGINAL , TRUTHFUL review of this crappy rescue…read more Pics to prove what they did. It appears this rescue is able to pick and choose their posted reviews! Really Yelp? What have you turned into if we cannot post our TRUTHFUL experiences here? This upsetting and honestly, it's CENSORSHIP! Let me try again and see if yelp decides to censor me again. We adopted a cockapoo here. My mother paid $480 for our girl. We arrived and she comes out to us, UNBATHED, UNGROOMED and she SMELLED awful. She had diarrhea all over her rear end and she was SO terrified, she was shaking and pooped in the girls arms as she was carrying her. It was OBVIOUS that not ONE person had worked with her, bathed her or groomed her since she arrived at this facility! Just put her up on line and waited for someone to adopt her. Clearly NOT in it for the welfare of these animals. Just the money. Never an apology or explanation for this. No follow up phone call to see how she was adjusting. NOTHING. Based on everything here, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this rescue. They are SHAMEFUL!

First - getting a dog should never be an impulse decision. However, sometimes you just have to go…read morewith your gut, and my gut told me getting a dog from My Fairy Dawg Mother was the right decision. This is a long one, so stick with me here.... I happened to be on Facebook one afternoon after having a suddenly clear schedule, and boom! This ADORABLE little face popped up in my feed. I felt like the Grinch, my heart swelling up to three times its normal size. I wanted, no, NEEDED this puppy. I don't know what I was thinking. I had a senior cat, 2 other dogs, was recovering from a severe injury, and was also a full time graduate student in Boulder. Yeah. But that FACE. It spoke to me. After discussing it with my husband, we decided it would be worth making the effort to add to our family. We contacted MFDM, and put in our application. Sadly, the little face we fell in love with went to a family that same day. We were CRUSHED. Lets recap: Thursday - no interest in getting a new dog. Friday - fall in love with dog. Saturday - learn dog is not available. Be sad. Sad sad sad. Sunday morning, we were still sad....and then my phone rang. It was the Fairy Dawg Mother herself!!! She was calling to let me know that the little face I fell in love with was being returned to his foster home, because he wasn't a fit for the family that wanted him originally. My husband and I were OVERJOYED. This wasn't a simple "ok, lets go see him" - we KNEW he was meant to be ours. We drove to the foster's home that afternoon, and welcomed our new handsome boy into our lives. Now - it's easy enough to say that it's a great story to meet the dog we love. But even better, here is what made it worth adopting from MFDM: 1. The focus is on finding the RIGHT home for the dog. When my boy's potential parents decided he wasn't the right fit, MFDM took him back ASAP. 2. Foster care, not shelter care. The dogs brought under the MFDM umbrella are immediately cared for in homes, given training, and integration into a pack. This is good, because that means they don't suffer any more. Many of the dogs are rescued from high stress/high kill shelters. It's a lot of work to go from that environment to a house/family setting. 3. The rescue is small and personalized. No large corporate style structure here, where checkboxes and numbers are the primary motivation. They are all about the dogs. 4. Small, but professional. Each dog is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered, and all pet parents are advised about responsible pet ownership. When you adopt from MFDM, you become a part of their family, whether you want to or not! They are here for the dogs, first and foremost. Isn't that the kind of people you want in your, and your pets, corner? I sure do. Give them a call today, and you just might find your new best friend.

This dog had Giardia AND Coccidia. 649 to adopt a sick dog, and then 250 in medical bills. I was told they would pay, but they didn't. They asked for not only copies of the bill but the doctors notes. The vet sent all of that to them. I emailed numerous times, called, and they were non-responsive. Despite training, the dog had issues and ultimately wasn't a good fit for our family. Never got a refund, never got medical bills paid. Not a professional way to run a business. Next time I will adopt a rescue from a reputable agency or a breeder. We surrendered our dog back to the fostering family per the contract, and hope he found a good home.

We had him for 10 wonderful years. We nurtured him through three major surgeries, the first one was a 2015 septic gallbladder removal, resulting from a chronic giardia infection he had when we adopted him. The last two huge surgeries (2020 and 2023) were to remove mast cell cancer tumors. I am an oncology RN; fortunately my medical know-how and my & my husband's utter dedication helped him through complete recovery after every major surgery. We slept on the floor with him as he recovered, treating him like our only child; because really that's what he was to us. Between the surgeries, home-cooked organic food, prescription kibble, cadre of supplements, toys and fastidious healthcare, we estimate we probably spent well over $50,000 caring for this precious dog. We would do it again in a heartbeat. We still miss him deeply, and are very proud of how well we cared for him. We still have a wonderful indoor-only 13 year old kitty who has missed his companion. We decided we were ready to adopt another cat friendly fur baby, and came upon two blondes rescue. If I could give zero stars I would. The doggy we attempted to adopt was (what seemed to be) a perfect match cat friendly golden doodle. We got so excited and went through the INSENSITIVE application process, only to be rejected and told that we were not candidates because we "didn't already own another dog". AYFKM NOWHERE in the description did it say that that was a requirement. I have since gone to the link to the doodle we tried to adopt, and there is STILL no updated information stating the requirement of having another dog. This feels very scammy to me, and looking at the other reviews and legal threats, I am glad we dodged that proverbial bullet! That this rescue makes you agree to basically just rent the dog from them is disgusting. In the end, we are very relieved we didn't adopt from them. We understand that not every application will be approved, and not every applicant is a good fit for the dog they are applying for. However, the theme that I am sensing in all of these horrible reviews is that they are collecting your information, rejecting applications on bizarre whims, being opaque about requirements for specific dogs/being purposely obtuse. I cannot quite figure out what their endgame is here, but it does not feel altruistic or professional to me. In the end we just hope the doodle dog is well cared for wherever he ends up - and we are relieved we didn't get caught in the quagmire that this rescue seems to create. I have sent an email asking that they delete our application from their database, as it has a multitude of personal information including a scan of my drivers license. ZERO STARS!! I turned in a stray dog that I was going to adopt if her previous owner didn't come forward. Based on her teeth, face, and personality, she appeared to be less than a year old. Unfortunately, I later discovered that she was pregnant, and after having a stillborn puppy in there care , she became understandably depressed and stopped eating. It's well documented that such traumatic experiences can lead to reactivity in dogs THAT YOU CAN WORK PAST . it was clear upon finding her that she had been abused skinny and scard of dogs and people , a concern I explicitly expressed to the Humane Society staff. What infuriated me the most was their decision to euthanize her as she was there for less then 4 weeks without informing us, stating reactivity and aggression not exploring any of the other rehabilitating options THEY HAVE to keep this yung dog alive . This felt not only unprofessional but also unethical, especially given the provisions of the Colorado Animal Rights Act, which emphasizes the humane treatment of animals. This decision is particularly egregious considering that, in the week I cared for her before turning her in, her reactivity stemmed purely from fear, a natural response to her past trauma and current situation and through out all that she loved kids . She was a scared, young animal in need of care, not a death sentence. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of communication and compassion shown in this situation. To add insult to injury, they have been ignoring my phone calls. When I did manage to speak with someone, the woman on the phone was incredibly rude, speaking to me as if I were a child and twisting my words to justify their decision to euthanize a dog whose life could have been saved. They took a life that deserved to live. Animals deserve better, she deserved better. I hope that by sharing this experience, the Humane Society will reflect on their practices and improve upper management because clearly this decision was made out of pure laziness The avoidable loss of this dog's life is a profound failure on their part. I am the way they are in the way. They handled this whole thing. I'm very hatred for the staff that decided to go through with this and not speak up.
