My experience with 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The lack of communication was unacceptable. There is no phone number to contact--only email--and once questions became inconvenient, communication seemed to stop altogether. We sent multiple follow-up emails seeking clarification and never received a response. Families who are genuinely trying to provide loving homes for rescue dogs deserve better than being ignored. My family was interested in adopting a dog that we were more than qualified to care for. We are experienced dog owners, have a secure fenced yard, provide an active lifestyle, and have a strong support system of family dogs that our pets interact with regularly. Despite this, we were told we were not a suitable match because the dog needed another dog in the home to "teach him how to dog." That explanation felt arbitrary and more like an excuse than a legitimate assessment of our ability to provide a safe, loving, and enriching home. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of professionalism afterward. Rather than engaging in a conversation, answering questions, or explaining their decision further, they simply stopped responding. After this experience, I began researching the organization further and was surprised to find numerous negative reviews from others describing similar concerns regarding communication, transparency, and the adoption process. Reading those reviews made me realize that our experience may not have been an isolated incident. Rescue organizations have an important mission, and I sincerely hope every dog in their care finds a loving home. However, based on our experience, this rescue came across as disorganized, dismissive, and unwilling to communicate with potential adopters. We walked away feeling that qualified families were being turned away for arbitrary reasons while genuine questions were ignored. Potential adopters should do their own research before investing their time and emotions into this organization. 1st adopted lab had Giardia. 250 in medical bills, but they paid for it. 8.5 yrs later our dog died of Cancer. Again adopted a lab from them. This dog had Giardia AND Coccidia. 649 to adopt a sick dog, and then 250 in medical bills. I was told they would pay, but they didn't. They asked for not only copies of the bill but the doctors notes. The vet sent all of that to them. I emailed numerous times, called, and they were non-responsive. Despite training, the dog had issues and ultimately wasn't a good fit for our family. Never got a refund, never got medical bills paid. Not a professional way to run a business. Next time I will adopt a rescue from a reputable agency or a breeder. We surrendered our dog back to the fostering family per the contract, and hope he found a good home. read more

We lost our soul dog in September of last year to an intense, years-long battle with cancer. We rescued 3 year old Watson over 10 years ago from Disco's Dogs. We had him for 10 wonderful years. We nurtured him through three major surgeries, the first one was a 2015 septic gallbladder removal, resulting from a chronic giardia infection he had when we adopted him. The last two huge surgeries (2020 and 2023) were to remove mast cell cancer tumors. I am an oncology RN; fortunately my medical know-how and my & my husband's utter dedication helped him through complete recovery after every major surgery. We slept on the floor with him as he recovered, treating him like our only child; because really that's what he was to us. Between the surgeries, home-cooked organic food, prescription kibble, cadre of supplements, toys and fastidious healthcare, we estimate we probably spent well over $50,000 caring for this precious dog. We would do it again in a heartbeat. We still miss him deeply, and are very proud of how well we cared for him. We still have a wonderful indoor-only 13 year old kitty who has missed his companion. We decided we were ready to adopt another cat friendly fur baby, and came upon two blondes rescue. If I could give zero stars I would. The doggy we attempted to adopt was (what seemed to be) a perfect match cat friendly golden doodle. We got so excited and went through the INSENSITIVE application process, only to be rejected and told that we were not candidates because we "didn't already own another dog". AYFKM NOWHERE in the description did it say that that was a requirement. I have since gone to the link to the doodle we tried to adopt, and there is STILL no updated information stating the requirement of having another dog. This feels very scammy to me, and looking at the other reviews and legal threats, I am glad we dodged that proverbial bullet! That this rescue makes you agree to basically just rent the dog from them is disgusting. In the end, we are very relieved we didn't adopt from them. We understand that not every application will be approved, and not every applicant is a good fit for the dog they are applying for. However, the theme that I am sensing in all of these horrible reviews is that they are collecting your information, rejecting applications on bizarre whims, being opaque about requirements for specific dogs/being purposely obtuse. I cannot quite figure out what their endgame is here, but it does not feel altruistic or professional to me. In the end we just hope the doodle dog is well cared for wherever he ends up - and we are relieved we didn't get caught in the quagmire that this rescue seems to create. We adopted a Basset (Elodie) Feb. 2024. She was found as a stray in TX. She was at first a very nervous dog and very under weight (28lbs), and had heartworm. We knew this upon adoption, and 2 Blondes paid for all of her treatment, spay, and vaccinations.She is now a healthy, happy pup (35 lbs), and brings us so much joy! i recently signed up to be a volunteer and went to a training/walk session. everyone was very nice, welcoming, and helpful. i originally was recommended to the organization by a neighbor that fosters and they were over the top helpful with information on how to become involved with offers for future assistance if i was able to foster. the info on their website is very helpful and the pictures of the adoptable dogs are perfection! i read thru a lot of the bad reviews and it's disheartening because it seems like a lot of miscommunication or unreasonable expectations. from what i've seen, the rescue is putting a huge amount of effort into ensuring that adoptions are humane and responsible. read more

Give them a chance!! I found our newly adopted dog (almost 2 weeks now!) on their website shortly after we unexpectedly put a dog down and our 1.5 year old puppy was depressed. Instantly fell in love with the picture.... I read the review and was discouraged. My husband and I decided to move on. Then my cousin brought up while I was talking to her about our search.. she said she "have you tried 2 blondes one breed.. we fostered for them and ended up adopting hjm." I took this as a sign and emailed the owner Kelley asking her to call me. During the call... she explained everything and I couldn't have felt more at peace. That was a Thursday. Saturday we went to a meet and greet to meet my sweet girl. I did not want to wait to bring her home! Kelley and the crew were so fast and efficient at my begging that I met Juniper at 4 and got her by 8pm. Don't believe all bad reviews. After going through the arduous application process and bending over backwards to appease some random power tripper in an office somewhere, we were "approved" to adopt the dog we saw on their website. After receiving the paperwork it became apparent we needed to consult our attorney. What this "rescue" is doing is making you sign a contract that in essence states that the dog is not yours, will never be yours and these people can come take them back at any time for any reason. You are paying for the right to feed and home *their* dog. The adoption fees are absolutely outrageous and indicative of a business, not a charitable "rescue." In demand breeds have crazy high "adoption costs" and breeds that are lesser known or unwanted tend to be way way cheaper. This place is poorly run by people who don't care about anything other than lording over others. read more

We previously adopted a dog in 2019 with 2 Blondes and had to put the dog down a few months ago that had a rare condition (Chylothorax) that would have been very expensive and painful for the dog or the alternative was to have weekly or bi-weekly chest taps to drain the fluid. Our vet at the time, advised against the surgery as there was no guarantee it would fix the issue and would be very painful for the dog. We decided from a quality of life standpoint, it was best to put the dog down. It is also worthy to note that shortly after we adopted the dog in 2019, the dog was diagnosed with major hip and knee issues that required 4 surgeries. We cared and loved that dog for 5 years, when from the get go many people probably would have given the dog back based on the medical conditions. I had completed the lengthy application in early February and didn't think there would be any issues, since we had previously adopted a dog from them. A few days later, they requested additional information regarding our pet vaccinations. I clarified we no longer had a pet and were they seeking vaccination information for our deceased pet. They asked why we had to put our pet down and I provided the same response from above regarding the the condition and the quality of life. I also advised they could reach out to our vet for additional information. I thought this information would suffice and didn't consider it a red flag by any means. During the application process, it references that we would be notified within 72 hours. Needless to say, after that email I never heard back again. I even requested a follow-up on the status a few days after that email was never responded to. A week after that I requested that my information be deleted out of their system and didn't receive a confirmation that the email was acknowledged. I get that you can accept or deny applications for whatever reason you deem worthy, but to completely ignore and not respond to applications one way or another is just irresponsible. Don't require people to complete this lengthy process only to ignore the requests and additional information that has been provided. If there are concerns about information that is provided the applicant should be allowed an opportunity to discuss and explain the circumstances. Unfortunately, I did not read many of the reviews on here prior to completing the application. Had I had the insight I would have avoided going through the process again. It leaves a bad taste in our mouth that our original adoption had medical conditions from the get go and we cared and loved for the dog for many years, only to be ignored later. I would highly recommend considering other agencies before moving forward with 2 Blondes. *Update* Kelly, the owner, reached out to the vet asking about our deceased dog without ever reaching out to us to have an understanding of the situation or to respond to our application. I spoke with the vet and they mentioned she was questioning why we did not reach out to them to let them know the dog had deceased and questioning his guidance on the medical condition. I attempted to speak with Kelly the following day and asked why no one had ever communicated with us and she said she apologizes we "feel" that way. Let me be clear, there were no follow-up communications from anyone at her organization. She then went on to state she was going to call me that same day, but 30 days had already passed since we placed the application. She said she works a full-time job and that was a reason she didn't call. Guess what! Most of people work full-time jobs! Also, please be careful about her bringing up the contract and that you are obligated to tell them about the animal passing away. In Colorado, dogs are considered personal property and this would be considered legal ownership once they are adopted from the agency. We properly cared for the dog for 5+ years, including regular vet visits, a large ample yard and provided a caring home. When I questioned her on this and said I would like to be reimbursed for all the care and expenses I provided over the last number of years, she said I was being ridiculous. She will paint that narrative that she deserves an explanation why she wasn't notified and play the victim. Forget that your pet passed away, they want to be the first to know. To be clear she had this knowledge of the dog passing for over a month and never once reached out with condolences until after she spoke with the vet. Even then she didn't offer it on the phone but rather an email stating we wouldn't be accepted to adopt from her organization. She also had the audacity to state the medical conditions showed up after we adopted the dog, but have email proof stating she knew it was a pre-existing condition. She says her focus is on the dogs, but clearly she is upset she was not told the dog passed immediately. read more

We're disappointed in this, but what is infuriating is the personal information you collect on your application. We will be requesting all of our information to be deleted and will BCC our attorney. We understand this is a volunteer situation, and we're thankful for your work, but this was pure deception, or laziness and you're collecting information from people I do not want shared. After ghosting me, they suddenly threatened to sue me for $2,500 over my original review because in the adoption application they included a non disparagement clause. Turns out that these are illegal under the federal Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016, so I kept it up and reported them. Note: My main reason for spending energy on this is that I don't like bullies. I call Kelley a bully because she seems to enjoy getting people to reveal lots of personal info, then rejecting them and mocking them when they're upset about it. Having worked in nonprofit admin, I don't like that she is getting funding that other orgs could receive. There were zero attempts to "resolve this privately"--they simply ghosted me after rejecting me, and then threatened to sue after I reviewed. It's also worth saying that it's either a lie or sign of extreme disorganization that she says I don't live in their service area. Based on the website, I do (screenshot attached.) Here is my review, with responses to comments (screenshots attached-Yelp determined they violated content guidelines so they've been removed) for clarity, since once she realized she couldn't sue me she made up lies: They don't seem to know the basic facts about their dogs and reject you because (as far as I can tell) they're 1) incompetent or 2) on a power trip. We expressed interest in 4 dogs. Two of the dogs were listed as "good with cats". We were told: "Since you will be a first-time dog owner as an adult, we won't be able to move forward with any of the dogs on your list because they have not lived with cats before." This makes no sense because two of the dogs were listed as cat-friendly, and one even had it in his bio that he snuggles with the foster cat! Pics attached. Both are still up for adoption last I checked. They also searched property records to confirm that we own our house (we do) and questioned us on it. Fine, do your homework. But based on Kelley's comments below, we were rejected for "lying about" owning our home (we do). It just wasn't public record at the time. We are not in need of financial subsidies as she implies, and were ready to supply documentation. They did not respond to the documents I sent--I followed up a couple days later to check if it got through, which is when we were rejected over the "cat" issue. I can understand wanting us to own for the sake of stability if we're getting a big dog, but the unstated requirements seem to go beyond this. Smells classist. If (as I suspect) what they said about cats is just an excuse, it's so dismissive and downright stupid. I grew up with an energetic dog and cats (this "doesn't count" in her words), went through a veterinary assistant program in high school, have adopted multiple cats with medical issues, and have a toddler. Yet I can't handle introducing an energetic, "cat-friendly" dog to a cat. Apparently my *actual education* in veterinary care is not enough to prepare me for this? In her words, this would be "nothing short of a disaster". She paints me as a young student/mom holding on by a thread, when I am just changing industries by getting a second degree. She conveniently ignores that my husband works from home and is perfectly capable and responsible for taking on half the dog duties. She also accuses me of having mostly "aesthetic requirements" because in response to the question about the kind of dog we were looking for, I stated I am happy with a mix and listed some breeds I like (which are known to be good family dogs). And they're pretty, sue me (or try)! Am I supposed to want a pit bull for my toddler to play with? Another lie she told is that I "abandoned" my cat Rose. I fostered her starting when she was very sick, malnourished, and traumatized, and my roommate fell in love with her. Over the course of 1.5 years we decided it would be perfect if she adopted her instead, since Rose and my first cat fought sometimes. She had majorly improved by then and I never would have "surrendered" her if my roommate didn't want her. This was all clear in my application, there's no room for misinterpretation. She was ready and willing to be a reference, but of course they never called. And I was nothing but polite with the volunteer up until and after the rejection. I was not closed to other options--I had already adopted a wonderful dog from Animal Friends Alliance. I guess it's "rude" to question their obvious errors and state that I'm confused? Thank God I read the reviews and gave up before they rejected us. We adopted a lovely doggo from Animal Friends Alliance last month. But I felt obligated to let the internet know that you don't need to waste your time and money supporting their hobby. She was heartworm positive, so we had about two months waiting period while she was undergoing prep for treatment and treatment, but it was well worth it. We found a 2 year-old schnauzer mix named Zoe, applied online, talk and then met with her foster for a long walk, and then completed the process with 2 Blondes. Prior to picking her up, I had a call from Kelley and Jessica just congratulating us and offering support for her adoption and future Heartworm care (as she was Heartworm positive and pending treatment). As she's gone through treatment, the vet and Kelley have been resources for us with any questions and treatment planning. We've really enjoyed working with their vet in Colorado Springs as well. This rescue receives a lot of poor ratings, and while no business / nonprofit is perfect I suggest that several stem from assumptions that lead to negative experiences. Several state that they take a long time to respond regarding adoption. They do. But the org is run by volunteers with day jobs juggling multiple cross-pressures and passions, they clearly state in multiple places that 2-week application reviews are par for the course, and they repeat it in email auto-responses. Some assess them to be very choosy. They are. They have seen many suboptimal placements through looser protocols that lead to returns, abandonment, unhappiness, even abuse. It's their choice / standards to be very selective on whatever parameters they want with their rescues. Once again, they advertise this upfront, clearly, and in many places. Some claim that they are sue-happy. Perhaps they are, and perhaps it stems from risk-aversion and self-protection based on past interactions. This rescue is caring and careful, and those are good attributes for animals needing advocacy and adoption. Anyone interested in adopting should thoroughly read their parameters (which they beg and demand you do) and select into the process only if it suits their values and time horizons. Wide-eyed about these details, my experience with 2BAB was phenomenal. They thoroughly vetted us, connected us with a trainer who knew all the animals in which we expressed interest, arranged our meetings with support and open-mindedness, and helped us find a pup who is ideal for our lifestyle and situation. We adore him. The team, trainer, and fosters have checked in with us well after the fact with genuine care. When we took him to get established at the vet, they were astonished at how much 2BAB invested in his care and how impeccable their records were. If you're willing to abide the high standards without ego, it's a great outfit. read more

As pro shelter and adoption as we all are, it would seem like it should be difficult to write a bad review, but 2BABR is really that unbelievable. Multiple photos of our yard, having to explain our (professionally landscaped) mowing schedule and reason for a rogue dandelion(gasp), condescending interactions and overall the same power trip experience everyone else has said. All that to get approved and see that contract- it is insane. The dog would never technically really be ours since apparently they could take him back for any reason they wanted and we'd essentially be signing an agreement to be sued at their whim. It's the equivalent of them letting you care and pay for their dog with the daily hope that they wont take him back randomly. As my attorney friends and I read through it ( you seriously should get an attorney involved-- they have one) we were a bit shocked at the audacity- this stretched far beyond protecting the dog. We rescued the sweetest girl from a credible 501(c)3 rescue so in the end it all works out. read more

Furious to say the least. I've had a dog in my life since I could walk. This is a perfect example why I like dogs and treat them better than most people. We have a Jack Russell (6.5 years) and had him since he was a pup at Boulder Humane Society. The paperwork and "rules" on the site for 2 Blondes had a red flag go up in my head and I told my wife we will find somewhere else that wasn't so insane with the process. I've never had a dog get hurt, accident, left behind or die (3 have gotten to 14-16 years old!) After scheduling a Bordatella for our Harry Carey to update his shot was a few weeks off, we send them the Vax records and get a response 2 days later... "We have another person looking at the dog, we will let you know if it doesn't work out." I was furious. They have been in contact with my wife and then after she jumps through the hoops they say "oh I could have told you 2 days ago but we are unprofessional." So, assuming these other people didn't adopt Finn because of 2 Blondes... they have a picture of our apartment balcony that's on the 2nd floor and email us saying "we don't like the balcony and the dog could fall off and we've had customers have this happen to!" WHAT?!?!! I don't know a single person of the countless dog owners I've met that has ever been this wreckless and irresponsible!! Disgusting that they didn't meet us or inquire about the balcony and could have asked me to put up fencing BUT I have an 11 lb dog that can't fit through the fence AND if he could I could put up chicken wire in 10 minutes. This is unbelievable and I'm beyond pissed these people are rejecting us before we even meet!!! Thjs puppy was gonna be a perfect fit for the same breed dog we have now that is literally our only child. This is how horrible things happen... the person they are looking for to take this dog is not gonna be the right owner for him. I know this because I love dogs and you treat them like a child. A good dog owner would be angry as well for being denied to have a chance to meet the puppy before even having a conversation. I live in a fully furnished single-family home with my fiancé and his mom. We have a huge backyard with a very large fence. We were not able to adopt from them since they do not have proof of me and my fiancé paying rent. We do not pay rent, my future mother-in-law pays the mortgage and we pay for all the cars and all the car insurance, etc. I asked if we could show proof of living here through our car registrations or mail and they denied us because we don't have proof of rent payments. It took a couple years after my last dog passed for my boyfriend and I to be in a place to adopt another dog. We made sure to do our research and selected 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue after talking with friends who adopted and fostered through the organization. We found our little nugget on the 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue website. To be completely honest, we were very interested in another pup, but the rescue told us since we lived in an apartment that the dog we originally selected wouldn't be a good fit. I really appreciated the honesty. The rescue suggested a couple of other breeds and we ended up applying to adopt another puppy (Once named Biscuit, now Mochi). The whole process was really smooth for us. I applied, the rescue connected us with the amazing foster mom (Heather is a rockstar foster), we set up a time to meet, the rescue contacted our apartment building, we set up a second meet and greet, and then within a week we took Mochi home. Mochi is the absolute best. She has her quirks and she was quite the rambunctious puppy, but she's perfect. I love that we still stay in touch with our foster so that we can share pictures/videos, and we even set up playdates with her dogs every now and then. Adopting a dog is a big commitment. 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue takes it very seriously, which is great. They will flat out tell you that you can't adopt certain dogs, and they are very open about their expectations once you adopt a dog. This may rub people the wrong way, but I'd rather be set up for success. We are so grateful for our wonderful pup. We will definitely be fostering and adopting a second pup from this organization once when we buy a house. read more

I've had an amazing experience adopting my puppy: communication was very clear, response time was super fast and the process was very easy. They do need to make sure that all dogs go to good homes so you have to fill out an application but it's pretty standard and expected. I do want to foster for them in the future as well, and they have so many different ways where you can contribute and help out. I've waited a long time and given this a lot of thought before writing this review because I didn't want to be reactive. Many years ago, my partner and I were looking for a dog to adopt and we stopped into this rescue. There was a very cute puppy in a dog bed behind the front desk. We asked if he was available and the employee said yes. So we spent a little bit of time with him and he seemed to be very compatible with our current dog which we had brought with us. We filled out an application to adopt the puppy and heard nothing back for about a week. We followed up and they responded, saying that whoever eventually ended up adopting that specific dog would have to have a close personal relationship with the owner, so we were therefore disqualified. Very frustrating. A few years later, my partner and I were looking for another dog. We found this same rescue online and hadn't remembered that this was the specific rescue but that we had a bad experience with. We found a great dog, we filled out an application, and sent an email about scheduling a visit to meet him. The application said to provide pictures of our fence and our backyard. We have a substantially large backyard and a 6 ft fence. The yard does have grass, although it is very patchy. Their response? " Let us know when you have a yard with some better coverage." We got rejected not because our yard wasn't big enough but because our yard did not have enough grass! I'm not sure what's up with this rescue, but what I do know is that their ultimate goal is NOT to get dogs adopted. Just peruse around the internet and you'll find many, many other negative reviews of this place. My partner and I have now adopted two different dogs from Soul Dog Rescue, and that process was v much more user friendly and easy. read more

After adopting my first dog, a young blue heeler, and now looking at adding a second young blue heeler to our family from 2babr, I wanted to write a review about this rescue and my experience with them. Additionally, after reading through all the reviews on here, the biggest thing I see is that people are upset for being rejected by their strict adoption rules. These adoption rules are in place for the best interests of the dog and for the humans adopting them. They have requirements for each dog based on personality, age, breed, and history. They are doing things correctly, and ensuring the best possible outcome for a lifetime-long adoption. Animals are forever and they want to eliminate people who may not be the best fit at the time of adoption, and ensure the dog is going to the correct placement. For those that commented that they only have "cute" dogs or that the adoption fee is "expensive", you must not have looked very hard. They are giving dogs from TX, NM, and other high kill states another shot at an amazing life. The price to get a dog spayed/neutered/vaccinated and anything else the dog may need like antibiotics or deworming truly do not know the time, energy and cost associated with that. 2babr is doing very hard work and they have high expectations and requirements to adopt a dog. I see nothing wrong with that and sometimes people don't even recognize when the timing may not be good for them because it is VERY easy to fall in love with an animal in need. Absolutely useless owners, can't believe this "rescue" is allowed to exist. Super rude over email and calls, they have insane requirements as well. They wanted us to replace our fence because it looks old, all the while we have two big dogs that are well trained and well loved. In addition, they are bringing in dogs from Texas and wanted an "adoption fee" of $650! This is not a rescue but a dog store in disguise owned by two people taking advantage of animal lovers. Second time I have applied and they rejected both applications. No real reason and I tried reaching out to them because I really wanted the chance to meet one of the dogs, no response. I have a current rescue dog from the Colorado Puppy Rescue and how they deal with applicants is night and day from this place. I don't even know if 2BBR is a real rescue because I know several people who have tried to apply and adopt with no response. I'll be reporting them to the BBB because if they really have their rescues' best interests at heart, then they would respond to applications. Denied for being a member of the military. Absolutely unacceptable They said it was due to the chance I could deploy. While this is true, I can deploy, my partner not only lives with me but works remotely at the house. This of course was listed in the application I wrote them back several times, no reply. My dog off 13 years passed this year. However I still have a lot of love to give. I was attracted to this rescue because of the in depth descriptions which I now realize is all due to the great fosters. Why am I giving a bad review? I applied for a dog that seemed like a perfect fit and I wanted to meet. They denied my application within hours. Probably due to me living in an apartment. I emailed them asking if they make any exceptions (because I was a previous experienced dog owner) or if they had any dogs available for apartment living. They never replied. I hope that the dogs find good homes but 70% of the Denver metro area is in apartments. Probably a good chunk of that would be good dog parents if they were matched appropriately. If I could go lower I would this company has serious ethical problems with how they run this business. I would love to challenge them in a court of law about even having the capacity to take care of animals. Their foster mom referred us to a dog that needed adopting and that foster mom was our friend. We loved Gregg. He was smart. He was awesome. We bonded and met with him daily. We immediately filled out the adoption papers, in which they emailed us about getting approval from our landlord so we complied and got written consent saying it was okay. Two days goes by no answer, so we get the foster mom who is watching Gregg to call for us. She told the foster mom that she was going to deny us because we didn't own a house. Well why make us contact our landlord then??? This was the first "wtf" moment. 2 Blonde's foster mom vouched for us pleading our case saying we are a young couple looking to start a family. He would be our farmers market dog. We own a business so we would literally give him all the time in the world. We pleaded our case with them but they didn't care. We asked to meet, but they didn't care. It seems they have ripped love right out of the equation. The owner even said to the foster mom we do not trust your judgment!! How funny!!! She can trust her free volunteer work with all the young puppies while being responsible for them, but she can't trust her word?? Seems fishy, sketchy, and a double standard. Needless to say this foster mom would no longer be fostering for this company. They had a falling out!! Go figure! Second "Wtf" moment! It's been four weeks and we still see Gregg daily wanting to get adopted, so I email reaching back out saying this is a crucial time in their life where they develop mannerisms. He needs a loving family! I said I will pray for you guys.....she said thanks for confirming our decision and "bless your heart" Here I am upset about Gregg, putting all my love out there and they say "Bless my heart" This was the third "WTF" moment To give this company this kind of responsibility is about as immoral as it gets. I really wish I would have read all these horrible reviews before even attempting to adopt a dog from this "rescue". These two blondes clearly have no actual interest in pairing these poor dogs in need with responsibe owners. What they do seem to be interested in is being extremely condescending and holier-than-thou. Apparently they are the only two responsible dog owners in the world - who knew?! I've owned dogs for 15 years and am a fully grown 41 year old man. I own a big beautiful home in a gorgeous development with a huge backyard full of grass for dogs to run around. I also live 5 minutes from a dog park and go there daily. I have a proper job, children, money to pay the bills and money leftover to dote on my animals. I absolutely adore dogs, they are second only to my son. Two of mine recently passed very close together and it ripped my heart out of my body. It has taken me half a year to even consider getting more. So lucky me that the first "rescue" I should attempt to work with is run by two horrible people who had the gall to tell me that I shouldn't own dogs because my five foot fence is too short and I don't have a proper "containment plan". They had the audacity to tell me that I should never have owned dogs in the past without having a proper trainer coming to my home and setting up said plan - tell that to my corgi Kemba and malamute Coda who spent 11 beautiful years here with me and would never have even thought of jumping the fence because they were too busy having the best life of all dog time. I do not understand people like this, especially encountering them in a field that should be filled with love and compassion. These two people clearly went into the wrong line of work, and it breaks my heart that it is the poor, unfortunate animals in their custody that will suffer the most. Luckily I quickly found a much better company in Trevor's Animal Rescue, and I would encourage anyone reading this to look their direction. They're compassionate, kind and wholly willing to go the extra mile to find the right dog for you and your family. Shame on 2 Blondes, but thankfully there are plenty of other good people in the world that we can all just ignore them completely until the end of time. This is a wonderful rescue! They truly care about the dogs and the homes they go too. They may be more stringent than other rescues but it's all for the care of the puppy. Expect to dot your i's and cross your t's. Communication was easy and quick between the rescue and foster parent. The adoption went smoothly and Jack Jack is not ready for all the love he's going to receive. I would 100% adopt from this rescue again! read more

I am giving them the best rating because of the process of adopting my pup. Many ratings here complain about the process; however, adopting a dog, or a child, should not be easy. A pup could be a commitment of up to 15 years, and they are living animals, unlike a car or house, either or which are still not easy to get. The reviews complain about the time it takes for the adoption, but they post on their website it will take at least two weeks and actually mine took less time. I did not get the pup I started the process to get, but I always believe that rejection is only redirection, and it was not meant to be. I also know that most people only write reviews if the outcome isn't what they wanted, and I am guilty. I did not let any of the reviews discourage me. I had an opportunity all the way to the end to back out if I wanted. They had lots of questions, and I had to show pictures. After the adoption, I had to agree to do things like finishing vaccines. While the process was ongoing, I got updates and pictures from the current mom. The rescue stayed in contact with me and still does, even after the adoption, when I have questions. As an owner of a pet-sitting business, I have had clients where in my head, I am screaming that they should not own a pet. The animals spend most of their time in kennels and not with their family. Colorado is a beautiful state, and I have had many clients who would leave every weekend for outings while they had jobs out of the home during the week. So, when were they spending time with their pup? Clients will ask me to mention any issues I have. If I do regarding the pup's behavior and I suggest training for jumping which is not cute, aggression towards other dogs, or pulling me down the street because they want a rabbit or squirrel, they never hire me again. Many people blow it off, thinking it is just a dog being a dog. I'm afraid I have to disagree. Training is expensive, really expensive. They require it or pay for it if you decide to return the dog in the future. This rescue has to take you by your word; they ask many questions and have many requirements. You need to have the means and the time to nurture an animal. They make sure of it. A shout-out to my baby's previous foster mommy and her husband. They were fabulous. I was updated dozens of times a day on my pup's day before she came. We still communicate because she loves to hear about my pup's progress. Finally, and most importantly, if you feel they are too strict, please do not get a dog. Everything they require, or ask of you, is justified. read more

We adopted Adam - our puppy (now 1-year-old) from 2 blondes animal rescue. We had to fill out information about where the dog would live (they are very cautious) but we had no issues getting permission to have the dog. Buying a dog is a commitment - and they are serious about making sure the dog gets all their shots and gets neutered (all of this is included in your adoption fee) Adam is the perfect dog -but I don't know if 2 blonds is really responsible for the dog's demanour :) Overall - a great place to pick up a puppy (or dog) I would use them again! read more

Our family originally was looking into adopting an adult dog. Then the world turned upside down in March & found ourselves home 24/7 indefinitely. We decided it would be awesome to raise a puppy during this time & 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue agreed with us. We were approved for an adult or puppy. Communication between me, the rescue and the puppies foster mom was great. I had no question as to when my puppy would be available and how she was doing. That being said they do take their time and meticulously try and pick the best home for each dog to be adopted into. That may slow down the process but definitely worth it to slow down and take your time on your end as well. Day three of having our chihuahua mix puppy and we are shocked at how well she is adjusted! She is almost nine weeks old and already almost 100% potty trained. Her foster home did an excellent job! She isn't afraid of loud sounds (ie: vacuum etc) or our cat either.
