Oh Good Eats...I was going to you before you got the makeover, before all the hype, when the decor looked like it was from the 60's, but the food was always good. Now they have been made over completely I would say the last 2yrs, maybe 3. Looks great in comparison to before. Much more modern, yet welcoming. Not the smalles spot but def not big. They actually deserve 4 stars but last time I went I left so effin mad. I just wonder to the owners of Good Eats (yes the bigger guy is the owner, middle aged woman is the wife and the son is in his 30's) do you not read these reviews? Are you not seeing the ONE thing ppl complain about? The service! Smh..sadly this is where they have an average of 4 stars and prab feel that they don't need to do anything to fix this. smh! The waiter (in his 30's, wears a cap, and smokes) is the biggest jerk. We were there waiting FOREVER for our check while this loser smoked his ciggy! When I tell you it takes A LOT for me not to leave a tip...it truly does..even the worst waiters and waitresses get left the bare minimum but not this time. The guy was nasty while placing orders and we were left there waiting for God knows how long...Like many other reviewers stated, the bus boy was great! Wtf is he not a waiter???? You know the servcie was terrible when we HANDED him the tip and told the busboy to take it and didn't leave squat for the waiter! The service isn't consistent and I can say this having been going here for yearssss but after the makeover, is when it seems they fell offf. The food: awesomeeeee! A bit pricier than standard diners but so good and huge portions. No lie, two ppl can share an omlette here and be satisified! I've tried everything from breakfast omlettes to burgers to sandwhiches to salads and I haven't had a bad meal yet! It's great! They have a huge selection of food and it's always fresh. The place opened a while again and I just figured it was like all the other Delis but I was sadly mistaken. Breakfast: - The juices are fresh - Cajun Eggs Benedict-- AMAZING! - Pancakes- Great - Waffles- My BF said are amazing. Lunch/Dinner: -I order to work the salads: they are all delicious. They all have Chicken in them but I always ask to get it without. My BF loves the Bomb sandwich or the OMG. I once ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and was a like disappointed since it was just steak with cheese not cook not chopped but that is the version they have. The Quesadillas are great as well. A lot of paninis to order from and the wraps are great as well-- They come with a soup so I don't get the fries. Probably one of the best diners that I have been to. Why you ask? Well, let me explain. They have such an extensive and great menu. Everything from brunch, breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, the normal diner shpeel but better. Anything that I've had from this diner has been great ... Salads, soups, wraps, apps. Tonight I had the creamy tomato soup which didn't disappoint and a vegetable panini. The panani had sauteed veggies... mushrooms, onions, artichoke hearts, and a single slice of zucchini. It was also supposed to have eggplant but it came out sans eggplant and I only realized halfway through my meal. The actual panini bread was good too. But the sandwich itself was missing something (besides the eggplant that is). Maybe a dressing would have helped. Service was good as well. Attentive and very friendly. My wife and I have been coming here all the time for a quick brunch-like meal without the crowds and without the over the top brunch menus. This place is an upscale diner with delicious food, lots of choices, and a huge step up in food quality from usual diners. I usually get the Nutella and peanut butter crunch French toast, which is one of the most deliciously sweet meals I've ever had. It's huge, the Nutella and peanut butter is hot and oozes out with every cut, and the diabetic coma you have after it is sooo worth it. You see a diner on a busy street in Queens and you kinda know what to expect.. but the little touches are the ones that keep you coming back. The place looks good, its not like most diners, drab and boring and doesn't have a "heavy" feel to it.. very easy on the eye and kinda cute. Portions are f-in HUGE.. trust me the 3 egg omelet is definitely not made with only 3 eggs... that or they have some mutated chickens back there. Service is good, always with a smile. Came here for the first time today. Since I don't like in Queens and was in the neighborhood for a hair appointment my friend and I and the kids were hungry and this diner was across the street. There was a little bit of a wait since it's brunch time on a Saturday. The food was OK, nothing special but definitely overpriced. We were charged 2.50 for each coffee. The kids meal was the same price and size and as the adult so I'm.not sure why its called a kids meal. The service was excellent. Both the owner and the waiters are super nice. read more

I order an appetizer and one meal from here over two hours ago as we speak I called 45 minutes ago to check on the order and the guy told me they were leaving with the order. I just called back now and the guy tells me they were just putting the order together now. I've ordered from them for years now and they are always 30-45 mins for delivery, but over two hour and they guy on the phone starts to argue with me about the delivery time. This place is such a yummy comfort food little diner! I love them and their portions. Food flavor is okay and standard but the portions are super generous! We order from here pretty often, because my fiance loves this place. I wish I had better things to say about it, because the staff is pretty friendly and pleasant, but the food is really just okay. The portions are very large. They consistently make errors on our orders, and they never seem to cook the burgers the way you ask them to. They take a minimum of one hour to deliver even if you call at 5:30pm, and they do not save your phone number (like every other place in queens)! which would save time. I absolutely love diners and I couldn't believe I haven't tried this place yet. I've been here three times in the past month, once for dinner, second for take out and the third for breakfast. The one thing that I didn't like was the price-quite expensive such as the trend for most diners these days. However, once I saw the food being brought out and the dishes the other diners had, I must say that the price is really great for the quantity of food. Salads are huge and delicious, burgers and wraps are excellent and breakfast is amazing. I'm a sausage and eggs kind of girl but I must say some diners ordered the red velvet pancakes and the waffles and fried chicken and my eyes couldn't stop staring at the lucky diners who ordered those dishes. The food is fantastic and place is small but clean and comfortable. However, we waited over a half hour for breakfast! Eggs and pancakes! The waitress Mary was awful. She forgot all about us. The manager had to scold her in front of is and he took money off our bill. We had to take food to go so we wouldn't miss an appointment. We left no tip for Mary. I received home fries rather than French fries which I was willing to overlook because my daughter was OK with it. Then we opened our plates and noticed the corn beef hash and the home fries had a burnt hard layer on top. They tried to use the scrambled eggs to cover it. Once we picked the hard layer off we were able to eat and make the best of it. We were in a rush to the hospital and just wanted to get some food in our stomach or I would have returned the order. Monday 04252016 .. Just went to have lunch with my son. The place was really nice and clean. Was greeting by one of the waitstaffs. It was our first time trying food here. We were reading the menu for a while before deciding what we should have. It was only for two of us so we could not order anymore even though there are so many dishes we would like to try. I ordered Cream Of Spinach Soup and Stuffed Mushroom with Crabmeat. I love the soup. It was just right. My son had tried some as well and he agreed that the soup was great. Stuffed Mushroom with Crabmeat is huge. It serves 4 pieces. I personally love it. My son said it was a little too sweet for him. But honestly, I love sweet food so I wasn't complaining. =) My son ordered the Macaroni and Cheese. The portion are really big. He likes it. He said it was very tasty. For the food that we ordered, all in all, I think they were all great. We'll definitely be back to try some other dishes. For the service, it might need a little more improvements. They were not so attentive and the place is not full. The water glasses are empty on our table and we had to wait about 15 minutes for our waitstaff to clear the table after we were done. I absolutely LOVE this place! I never write a review but I felt like this place definitely deserves it. My boyfriend and I always come here on weekends for brunch and our waiter is almost always the same jolly spanish guy (I wish I knew his name) but he's the friendliest guy ever. Everyone who works there looks like they really enjoy their job. Even when the bus boy is running around trying to clean all the tables by himself during peek hours, he still manages to refill our coffees with a smile! I'm not kidding... What ever the manager is doing to keep his workers happy-he's doing it right! The portion size is huge and I always have to take my food to go. Everything is so delicious. Their portions are HUGE and the food is delicious. I ordered a three egg omelet, and there really was probably six. I couldn't finish it. Nearly everything I've ordered has come in a portion that's big enough for two people, or for another who portion to take home for later. If you're there with a friend and don't want a gigantic meal, save money and order one entree and and an extra plate. This is my favorite diner in Maspeth. There are a few diners in the neighborhood. I've been to the others, but Good Eats is my fave. Their menu options are so extensive. It's like they have a whole supermarket in the back. They also offer selections that you can't order from the other diners in Maspeth. I don't think an ingredient exists that they don't offer. the whole menu looks so good. I've been here many times over the past five years, and I've enjoyed a variety of meals. I've ordered the skirt steak and eggs on a few occasions. The shrimp quesadilla is another delight. I like to wash everything down with an Irish tea. The staff are friendly. I just had the worst experience ever with this dump. First, I indicated in the note that the delivery person WAS NOT to ring the bell upstairs- instructions were, very clearly, to call from the street. Naturally the delivery guy ignored this. The upstairs neighbors are elderly and frail, and answering the door is a tremendous inconvenience, as well as a health risk. Then the well-done burger that was ordered medium rare didn't have the cheese on it, as ordered. The sweet potatoes that accompanied the burger were completely burnt. As a chef for 40 years, I'm appalled at the utter lack of concern for the customer. This place isn't cheap, either, so you have the right to expect better service. They were attentive to the service in the beginning and after we were done eating... The non-waiter staff walked around and not noticing that we were done. We sat in the diner for about 10-15 minutes wondering. The food portion was pretty big. The ice cream float had a lot of ice cream and very little of the soda drink.
